It may be since the really really 'most players' have been banned from D3's forums for voicing their displeasure since launch.. so best to say 'most players that are left who do not bother Blizz too much'
I'll hop on for 15 minutes and farm, and feel like I accomplished something whether it's a keywarden run, farming for loot or crafting mats, or paragon XP.
I'll also hop on for 5 hours, and have a blast the entire time, trying different skills, crafting gear for different builds that I'm trying (like all lightning DH), and farming for those sexy green and orange beams, either solo or with my buddies. I'm in almost all 2.0.1 gear now, and can farm T3 pretty easily, and I feel like the gear progression curve is pretty smooth and consistent and that playing completely solo is viable.
So yes, this is almost exactly what I want from D3, and I look forward to additional content =D

I dont like the fact that Blizzard really feels that they need to tell us how we should play the game. As soon as someone on twitch/reddi/diablofans finds something it will instantly get nerfed because that is not how Blizzard want us to play. D3 have none of the freedom that D2 had.
I concur with both of these statements. I was perma banned from Diablo 3 forums because I expressed my freedom of speech telling them what they are doing wrong and how they are ruining the game. The first silenced me then they perma banned me 2 offences perma ban pretty sad really but I don't care they cant silence the mass's that are flooding their forums as we speak about their ignorance.
They probably also realized that no matter what they did, there would be skills that were mostly unused. It's just too hard to balance them . The problem with skill trees is that they (at least in every RPG I've ever played that used them), never really add as much depth as they appear to. Most skills fall into one of three categories for any particular spec/build:
That is very lazy and inaccurate. Many people have played Magic the Gathering and that game has lived forever by players finding innovated ways to play. Many of the obvious choices and many lesser known ways also come up and then they have rule changes and new cards release to make things interesting again. D3 keeps hacking itself to death every time it takes one step forward and 100 babies cry.
There is nothing stopping Blizz from introducing newer legends (they do anyway) to make interesting builds more interesting over time instead of just saying 'people will only play one way anyway'

Freedom of Speech prevents government censure of speech given in a public forum. Nothing more.
your example of wiz with 1.5k resist and 100k dps just proves how broken the system is. You should be either tanky, balanced, or dps in an RPG, heck in all RPGs this is how it works.
Reading before posting is pretty important.
He didn't say 1.5k res all and 100k DPS. He said 1.5k res all and 100k HPs.
But, let's assume he did say 100k DPS... that's nowhere near enough to come anywhere close to T6. Hell, it's probably just enough to do T1 with some efficiency. So, how in the world is that *not* choosing survivability over damage? How in the world is that *not* giving up your DPS to be a tank? What he described is exactly the trade-off that you're saying doesn't exist.
It's like you haven't even played the game to understand that 100k DPS is very low compared to what you'd actually need to do the most-difficult content.
I would have to disagree my monk has 100k sheet dps but does well over 1mil dps per bell dropped and I can perma spam bells at 1.17 aps so hence my dps is 1mil dps but reads sheet dps of 100k. This may not make sense to you but 100k dps is plenty to pwn T6 content as I already do.

This is just another form of censorship by taking our constitutional rights out of context. The constitution states freedom of speech, not freedom of speech where we say you can have freedom of speech. People like you are the reason America is losing all its constitutional rights. You think that my freedom of speech doesn't matter because its a forum provided by said company which in all actuality it does. The internet wasn't around when the constitution was written if it was they would have added a wonderful clause for people like you that states "Freedom of speech cannot be infringed apon by any entity foreign or domestic, private or public. Therefore, all citizens will be allow to express their freedom of speech whenever and wherever they please."

Except that every once and a while, Magic screws up and either makes turn 1 kills possible or creates a card so overpowered that it dominates the game (e.g., Necropotence). And usually the corrective action is restrict or ban the offending card. That sounds like Magic is "telling people how to play".Not saying its common but it happens.
If something is overused or overpowered, it should be balanced. It may be annoying in the short term, but it's better for the long-term life of the game.

So I can go over to your house and spray paint my opinions on your walls and there is nothing you can do about it? Ok, got it.
It is named Diablo and the game is fun. That's all that really matters. If you're waiting with your breath held for always online to go away, you might want to exhale.
So I can go over to your house and spray paint my opinions on your walls and there is nothing you can do about it? Ok, got it.
That's not freedom of speech that would be graffiti. Stop trying to make excuses why Blizzard censors people who dislike their unimaginative ideas. Here is an example of unimaginative ideas they came up with:
Note: This is before 2.0 update this is just a basis on previous patches 1.08
The best 1hd weapon in the game was Ecoing Fury. This brilliant idea to make the best 1hd weapon fear mobs away was just plain dumb. Why would I want to chase mobs all day as a melee character who is 99% compatible with any 1hd weapon? Unimaginative, and dumb. But this is just my opinion so don't think I am saying my way or highway I just think its dumb.
Any attentive enough diablo fan knew that pony land was probably going to be on D3, it was an ongoing joke just as the cow level was before D2. We talked about it here many times when we were diablo3.com and it didn't come as a surprise when it actually made it into the game.
You don't have to play the pony level if you dislike it, it's not an integral part of the game. But you can't claim that it makes D3 any less "Diabloish" because you think it's "gay".
It may be since the really really 'most players' have been banned from D3's forums for voicing their displeasure since launch.. so best to say 'most players that are left who do not bother Blizz too much'

Edit: Here is even better example PONY LAND. Such a brilliant idea (how you can feel my sarcasm). Nobody wanted a gay pony land we wanted cows period. We didn't get this because it was a joke with blizzard making the level instead of cows. Cool how about you do this with WoW on the next WoW expansion I want to see them make a joke about the Lyntch King or w/e his name is and now instead of him being the Lyntch king he's a CUDDLE BEAR! YEAH! SO AWESOME! (really hope you can feel my sarcasm by now)
I'm sorry but really? Apparently writing on your wall isn't Freedom of speech but writing on Blizzards virtual wall is... Man Hypocrites these days. I suppose me and 500,000 people going onto your lawn telling you to kill yourself and jump off a bridge is perfectly acceptable, or me running up to a black man and screaming "GET ON THE FLOOR AND BOW TO YOUR MASTER YOU FILTHY NIGGER" is perfectly acceptable too. God forbid we actually be sensible and write coherent and concise points and use constructive criticism instead of "BLIZZARD YOU SUCK YOU RUINED DIABLO" Geez the common sense in this thread is at an all time low with just 1 user generating the idiocy.
This game is more Diablo than Diablo 2 was. Bagstone said it on the first page and he's right. If you have this much of a problem with Diablo 3, then stop playing. You're only argument that can actually be defended somewhat is BOA, and even then you fall pretty hard on your face trying to justify it.
Skill trees were a useless institution that did nothing but separate players who could look up a number sheet from those who didn't know they even existed. Putting skill points in skill trees and stat points into stats was redundant. It wasn't customization, it was "if you fuck up then your character sucks", most people built the same exact way too. You didn't have much choice, most skills weren't even utilized. When you did choose those off builds most weren't viable late game, which resulted in you just re-rolling for a character that could run with MF gear and farm. At least in Diablo 3 every build, barring some rare exceptions, is viable. Truly genius if you ask me.
BOA is bad but only because it ruins playing apart from your friends. Not because of your reasoning. I've had a few experiences so far that me or my friend have found Legendaries or sets apart from eachother while I have schoolwork or he has schoolwork and they're useful for the other one of us, but we can't trade it cause of BOA. I completely understand their reasoning though for why BoA is here in the first place. The AH ruined the economy of Diablo 3. Absolutely destroyed it. Made it useless, made it a pay to play or GTFO. Not a good thing, they've removed it not because we are whining but because it restores the game to being a game about farming for loot rather than paying to win. Trading wouldn't be a bad addition universally, but friends trading or clan trading needs to be implemented at the very least. So I'll give you a half a point for that one.
Hostiling is a stupid excuse for people to be douchebags. Nothing more. When they've made a proper PVP and they feel comfortable releasing it then I'll play it but for now Brawlings fine and is 100x better than hostiling. I can't tell you the amount of times I joined a game just to be murdered every time i left town for no reason at all.
To online-only: Stop beating the horse it's been dead for over 6 years...
The pony level is more manly than you'll ever be... get a grip on reality idiot. The cow level was only in Diablo 2 because it was a joke from Diablo 1 and Starcraft, the pony level is in D3 because it was a joke on how the game used some pretty vibrant colors, and the fact there was a rainbow in the distance in on of the first demos of the game. I'm glad it's there too, just so it can piss you the fuck off.

You probably should inform yourself as to exactly what the First Amendment guarantees you before you go spouting off about them being violated.
The First Amendment (not the Constitution) guarantees that Congress shall make no laws abridging your freedom of speech, etc. Blizzard is not congress and Blizzard is allowed to do whatever they want in their own private space in this regard. If they decide that using the word "red" is a bannable offense there is nothing the First Amendment does to protect that.
Furthermore, the Supreme Court has ruled routinely that the First Amendment protections are not absolute. The two classic examples are yelling "fire" in a movie theater when there isn't a fire (your speech is not protected because you're using it to create a very unsafe situation) and a Nazi handing out propaganda pamphlets outside of a synagogue (your speech is not protected because you're actively infringing on others beliefs). Both of these actions, despite the First Amendment, can be prosecuted as "disturbing the peace" and it's completely constitutional according to numerous Supreme Court rulings.
Why? Because the First Amendment isn't there to guarantee your right to be a flaming douchebag.
For someone spouting off about how other people are so jealous because you are smarter than them, I'd expect that you'd know full well what the First Amendment does, and does not, guarantee.

I think it's time this thread got locked. OP is not only routinely calling other people names, but he seems to be actively trolling at this point.
Now now.. let's take it easy with the pyramid quoting. I also removed some homophobic material on your post, so you might have to make your point again in a slightly less aggressive manner.
I also doubt you'd get banned for "voicing your opinion". Bans usually come from a very clear anti-social conduct. Not even gonna waste time with the whole "devs want us to play the game their way" comment, I thought after 2 years people had evolved past that primitive thought.
They probably also realized that no matter what they did, there would be skills that were mostly unused. It's just too hard to balance them . But Blizz doesn't really balance anything. If something unique pops up that is good to use, they nerf it and then what? Everyone goes to the most basic of basic things since anything exotic isn't worth the effort
If what you said was true, then WW barbs would of had their fury nerfed out as bad as VQ was taken away from WDIt seems like they are finally doing that now to WW barbs but it went on forever while they waved the 'balance' nerf on so many other things
I guess my point is, anything interesting with D3 is meant to be lame and stay lame since if it was good it is said to be an 'exploit'. MtG goes the other way and encourages innovation, let it run its course, then make changes. If MtG was the same, they would nerf so many things and make everyone play basic fireball decks vs basic control decks vs basic life decks.. etc..
I'm only surprised at how long this thread has managed to circle the drain without actually vanishing down it faster than guacamole that went bad at the back of the fridge.
I didn't vandalize their property its VIRTUAL as you stated yourself. You spray painting the side of my house is vandalism again not freedom of speech. Now if you want to paint up the side of your house with giant smiley face, MORE POWER TO YOU! I am also sorry for you being bullied in Diablo 2 by people going beast mode on you with hostile button. I appreciate your feedback and there's no need for getting all upset and calling people hypocrites.
You are also taking freedom of speech out of context, if you are harming someone with your speech then it no longer becomes a freedom of speech but in fact using your example quote: "GET ON THE FLOOR AND BOW TO YOUR MASTER YOU FILTHY *PROFANITY*" then you just became a hate crime suspect. Stop trying to bully your views over someone else's views. If you disagree just say you disagree no need to go all ape like you did.
