I didn't vandalize their property its VIRTUAL as you stated yourself. You spray painting the side of my house is vandalism again not freedom of speech. Now if you want to paint up the side of your house with giant smiley face, MORE POWER TO YOU! I am also sorry for you being bullied in Diablo 2 by people going beast mode on you with hostile button. I appreciate your feedback and there's no need for getting all upset and calling people hypocrites.
You are also taking freedom of speech out of context, if you are harming someone with your speech then it no longer becomes a freedom of speech but in fact using your example quote: "GET ON THE FLOOR AND BOW TO YOUR MASTER YOU FILTHY *PROFANITY*" then you just became a hate crime suspect. Stop trying to bully your views over someone else's views. If you disagree just say you disagree no need to go all ape like you did.
So I can go over to your house and spray paint my opinions on your walls and there is nothing you can do about it? Ok, got it.
That's not freedom of speech that would be graffiti. Stop trying to make excuses why Blizzard censors people who dislike their unimaginative ideas. Here is an example of unimaginative ideas they came up with:
Note: This is before 2.0 update this is just a basis on previous patches 1.08
The best 1hd weapon in the game was Ecoing Fury. This brilliant idea to make the best 1hd weapon fear mobs away was just plain dumb. Why would I want to chase mobs all day as a melee character who is 99% compatible with any 1hd weapon? Unimaginative, and dumb. But this is just my opinion so don't think I am saying my way or highway I just think its dumb.
It may be since the really really 'most players' have been banned from D3's forums for voicing their displeasure since launch.. so best to say 'most players that are left who do not bother Blizz too much'
I dont like the fact that Blizzard really feels that they need to tell us how we should play the game. As soon as someone on twitch/reddi/diablofans finds something it will instantly get nerfed because that is not how Blizzard want us to play. D3 have none of the freedom that D2 had.
I concur with both of these statements. I was perma banned from Diablo 3 forums because I expressed my freedom of speech telling them what they are doing wrong and how they are ruining the game. The first silenced me then they perma banned me 2 offences perma ban pretty sad really but I don't care they cant silence the mass's that are flooding their forums as we speak about their ignorance.
Freedom of Speech prevents government censure of speech given in a public forum. Nothing more.
This is just another form of censorship by taking our constitutional rights out of context. The constitution states freedom of speech, not freedom of speech where we say you can have freedom of speech. People like you are the reason America is losing all its constitutional rights. You think that my freedom of speech doesn't matter because its a forum provided by said company which in all actuality it does. The internet wasn't around when the constitution was written if it was they would have added a wonderful clause for people like you that states "Freedom of speech cannot be infringed apon by any entity foreign or domestic, private or public. Therefore, all citizens will be allow to express their freedom of speech whenever and wherever they please."
your example of wiz with 1.5k resist and 100k dps just proves how broken the system is. You should be either tanky, balanced, or dps in an RPG, heck in all RPGs this is how it works.
Reading before posting is pretty important.
He didn't say 1.5k res all and 100k DPS. He said 1.5k res all and 100k HPs.
But, let's assume he did say 100k DPS... that's nowhere near enough to come anywhere close to T6. Hell, it's probably just enough to do T1 with some efficiency. So, how in the world is that *not* choosing survivability over damage? How in the world is that *not* giving up your DPS to be a tank? What he described is exactly the trade-off that you're saying doesn't exist.
It's like you haven't even played the game to understand that 100k DPS is very low compared to what you'd actually need to do the most-difficult content.
I would have to disagree my monk has 100k sheet dps but does well over 1mil dps per bell dropped and I can perma spam bells at 1.17 aps so hence my dps is 1mil dps but reads sheet dps of 100k. This may not make sense to you but 100k dps is plenty to pwn T6 content as I already do.
It may be since the really really 'most players' have been banned from D3's forums for voicing their displeasure since launch.. so best to say 'most players that are left who do not bother Blizz too much'

I voted "Yes." I think the game evolved a lot since it was released and all the recent changes make it more and more of a worthy successor of Diablo 2.
Ya sorry if i confused anyone on saying box runs. Just seemed like the right word and you know im lazy i didnt want to type out cursed chest everytime box was faster haha.
Ha ha yah sometimes different lingo people use can be challenging. It took me a while to realize people were talking about legendary items when typing "legs." I was confused as to why people were talking about pants all the time...
I want to echo something that @Missa1390 said. "Illusion of Choice."
In D2, as a Sorc (always preferred cold) I had to play a Sorc a few times before I developed what I thought was the "best" cold build for me. Unfortunately, that meant re-leveling my character over, which is just horrible, horrible game design. Not being able to re-select skills was awful (I didn't like it, can't you tell?) But for most players, there wasn't a choice. There was an absolute "best" build for a Sorc, and that's what you did. Having the skill trees did not give you choices, it gave you the "illusion" of choice.
I have really enjoyed the last week on my Wizard. I've tried a Fire build, a Cold build (am so happy Frozen Orb is back) and an Arcane build. All of them work great with my gear on Torment II. THAT is something you couldn't have said in D3V. There actually ARE choices now. There are even multiples of all of the different elemental builds. I love the flexibility that learning all of the skills gives me. If I feeling like raining down meteors on my foes, I can do that. If I want to freeze everything to death, I can do that. I'm a Wizard for pete's sake, shouldn't I be able to summon forth whichever elemental destruction I want?
The ability to actually choose what skills I want to use to fit my playstyle is fantastic. I am very glad I don't have to adhere to everyone else's builds just to complete content.
I agree it sucked you had to restart your character If you messed it up however this supposedly was fixed and I cannot confirm this cause I play D3 now lol but about your illusion of choice example. There was an absolute "best" build for Diablo 3 too, this is the same illusion aspect you are talking about for Diablo 2.People will always copy/follow the best build and still do to this day in Diablo 3.Yeah it may change now that we have decent items but we don't know yet but will soon find out in RoS. In diablo 2 though I had a amazon tank, that wasn't a "Best" build but it was fun, and I was able to do it. I cant say the same about Diablo 3. What if I wanted to be a wiz tank to stand in center of mobs and tank them all. I cant why? Because wizards are squishy period. Could I do this in Diablo 2, I sure could you know why? Because I was able to allocate my stat points where I WANTED not where Blizzard wants them.
if you had a sorc tank in d2 you did no damage, because you had to allocate a ton of stats to VIT and all the good sorc items NEEDED high intno damage in an RPG is fucking boring.
And to be honest you can allocate stats to where YOU want. Its called gems. Change all your gems to Vit/Resist. Only get gear with Resistances and HP. its possible right now to have 1.5K+ ressistances as a wizard with 100k+ hp. and get tank runes, in skills. JUST like d2 (but in a different way) You will do no damage. but you can survive anything pretty much. Sure if you want to get rammed 5 times in a row by T6 in act 1 you will die but then you are just a piss poor player.
This seems to upset you about having the ability each time you level from 1-60 (or 1-70 in RoS) to allocate the stat points given where you want. A sorc tank isn't ment to do DPS hence why they are a tank. This is not rocket science, your example of wiz with 1.5k resist and 100k dps just proves how broken the system is. You should be either tanky, balanced, or dps in an RPG, heck in all RPGs this is how it works. Also saying someone is a *enter profanity player* just shows that you don't play on anything but normal mode because everything else is to challenging. Just like being able to allocate all my stat points into intelligence and nothing else is just to hard for you to grasp. They tried to fix this with their cop-out paragon tree system.
Let me ask you this what is going to happen when I get to paragon 1000 and blizzard decides like they did with the AH that you know what this is breaking the game we are going to remove it. Now all that time and effort I put in just goes to waste because they decided their cop-out system didn't work and broke the game. Kind of like the AH it was a cop-out to try and stop 3rd party sellers and it didn't work. The 3rd party sellers just went lower and lower than blizzards prices for gold or w/e. Now we have BOA and most 3rd party sites are gone whoopy do dah who cares they didn't effect my game experience I still made 3000$ on RMAH to chumps that pay2win.
please reread what i said. i said hp, not damage. and even so 100k damage is not very high. You kinda proved my point with all what you said. You can be tanky in diablo3, you can be moderate, and you can go glass cannon. You seem very narrow minded about this, have you tried switching skills other then just what other people post on forums?
You made 3000$ thats cute i made 10000$.... Look, i can make up arbitrary numbers as well. srsly.
Edit: and if you don't like d3 system. D2 is still supported.
Really you think my numbers are arbitrary? I would post a screen shot of my bank account with all the transactions for you but guess what? This is the internet and I don't have to prove anything to you, believe what you want to, hate on people because they are smarter than you. Its ok we understand that you cant comprehend anything for yourself. I am 100% self found and I have my own setup that other people copy, so you are mistaken when you say I copy other people post on forums.
Please have some honest decency and just stop while you think you are ahead. Go back to your basement that you crawled out of and live in your imaginary world that you live in. I however will continue to live in the real world where companies rise and fall for dumb mistakes like BOA. Your assumption that you cant be all 3 is wrong, since you can be all 3 combined what does it matter when you can face tank, out dps, and be more balanced with just a few pieces of gear since the game is a huge gear check?
PS: I love your cop-out statement at the bottom. D2 is still supported. This is what all uneducated people say, if you don't like it leave. Well unfortunately when you love something so much you stick it out through thick and through thin. When you are gone along with the other children that cry cry cry because you cant do what other people are capable of doing we will get the Diablo we should have gotten from the start.
Ya sorry if i confused anyone on saying box runs. Just seemed like the right word and you know im lazy i didnt want to type out cursed chest everytime box was faster haha.

So I have recently received multiple requests to explain box farming as I mentioned in another post so I figured a thread for information purposes would be better than pming everyone back. It is hard to just explain but ill give her a go.
Each act has a cursed box location that spawn on a specific map and is static to that map and I believe there are 4 locations this box can spawn in each act.. Once you find the cursed box and map its on all you have to do is make game see if box is there if not leave game. Rinse and repeat.
So for example ill use the Act 1 cursed box that they recently fixed (I am not here to tell you all their locations or give you exploits sorry if that's what most who pmed me about the box wanted.)
1. Start game act 1 quest 9 part 3 (kill act boss)
2. Take Waypoint to the last waypoint and follow it back to level 2
3. Step down to level 2 and you get checkpoint, this checkpoint allows you to resume game when you leave and you have a town portal to the exact spot.
4. If box wasn't in the game you just did step 3 in then remake game go in your town portal, go up to level 3 walk in w/e direction map you get and see if the box was in fire area. If it was invite 3 friends/clan members or whatever do the event get 115m exp on T6 with 4 people.
5. Rinse Repeat
Again I am not here to give you guys exploits so please do not pm me asking for other box locations. Thanks in advance.

You still did not understand that Mira runs were NOT efficient runs they were just EASY hence why everyone was doing them. It was more efficient to BOX farm which you can STILL do they haven't nerfed all box locations yet and until they do and until they are no longer static locations on 1 map people will CONTINUE to farm them. your 15mil Mira gave in 2minutes or less I can get 115m from T6 box in 2-5 minutes and is just a little harder than Mira runs and I gain triple if not 4x the amount you get from Mira.
People handicapped themselves doing these runs because they were easy, and majority of people are LAZY and don't want to put effort into it and is why Mira runs came to be.
Handicapping would be doing that harder route btw. You did something harder for the sake of doing something harder. You took a risk that most wouldn't find worth their time. Also - It's gear thing. Not everyone is geared enough to do that, yet -everyone- is geared enough to do Mira. You're confusing the words lazy and efficient.
To go back to the original point of the topic. Do you think Baal runs were better than doing all these alternative ways we have now? You seem to feel as if it's worse off yet Baal runs were mathematically the best exp possible. As you said yourself, there are different and better ways to do this in Diablo 3. Wouldn't you agree that this is proving the point that Diablo 2 threw illusions of choice at you every chance it got?
Sure everyone has their own opinions and such and maybe we are both confusing lazy and efficient but we can both agree that Mira was boring so I don't really care that it was nerfed I was just pointing out that they nerfed 1 thing but not all the other things that are just as easy or a little harder. Yes I am very well geared, lucky gods of drop rates shined apon me with great 2.0 legs with great rolls like my glove have 300+Int, IAS 6%, CHD of 20 something % and CHC of 4% I think (im not 100% positive on exact stats because I cant login but will post a pick for everyone when I login.) 100 to arcane resist I think and gold find. They also have attribute that after massacre I get gold rain from sky which looks like I crap out gold after a massacre lol.
Back on topic to answer your question: I don't believe that it was an illusion of choice, yes Baal runs were the most efficient way to level and yes they gave the most experience but you still had a choice to do what you wanted. You don't always have to be the best and have everything and be efficient. Thereis plenty of people out there that are more efficient than I like a buddy of mine he always has better monk gear and out does my monk everyday. I cant seem to catch him but he did the same with necro when we played Diablo 2 together. He always out leveled me and everything even though I was doing the efficient Baal runs to beat him.
I do agree they are finally going in right direction for items as far as your example of that bow is awesome! But how many of the legs can you say are build changing? 6 sets 1 for each class and a few legendries? Out of the other 300 or that can drop it just seems like now every DH will go for that bow you just mentioned and every DH will eventually get the bow. Then I can tell you what's going to happen is blizzard will find it is "too good" and nerf it to regen only 1 hatred per sec. Then they will find that's still too good and change it to a proc coefficient for the weapon so it would be "you have a chance to regen 4 hatred". Then this will no longer be a build changer as it is no longer good. See what I am getting at, they just have to keep changing and nerfing until the games totally dead from nothing being fun anymore.
Look at Mira runs nerfed just recently into ground. So cool of them to do this because some people liked it yet there are other "faster" runs that are way better than Mira yet they were not nerfed care to explain this? I can its easy, it was fun and a lot of people were doing it and blizzard said NO its gtg play the campaign from start to finish!
Well I can't say because I have not looked at them all but a lot of them will for sure make a player think about using it and trying something different. True that a lot of DH's will want to get that bow and play with it (my self included), but it's just one option.
Things like the power leveling are broken and abused which is why they balanced (or nerfed depending who you talk to). Personally I would, and have, found it boring as heck to do the same thing over and over again. Having high xp/hour is nice, but at the same time there is longer a paragon level cap so eventually we can have all the stats maxed out but the two core (I think it's like paragon 800 or something). In the amount of time it is going to to take to get to that paragon level I'm sure the amount of gear and the state of the game will change. If I make it to paragon version 2, level 300 I'll be amazed ;p
I agree 1-60 in 2 minutes was pretty lame. I believe they should have left all the exp charts how they were before 2.0 and only updated the exp charts for chars 60+ like whats gained from quests and such. This way it takes you just as long as it use to take (my fastest plvl was 2hours 1-60 and I was lvling a buddy with my wiz perma archon yes it was very broken too) to go from 1-60 then the new quest exp kicks In at 60 so you don't have this problem.
I don't know about the people you play with, or the clan you're in, however the clan I'm in and the people I play with? We did chest / Mira runs because we knew it was broken exp and we were taking advantage of it. We had builds to kill Mira in under 8 seconds on T6. Not a single one of us enjoyed it, we all at one point of the nights said "God...I can't wait for them to fix this so I can stop..."
Doesn't matter how fast you did mira runs, box runs were worth more and with the DPS I put out on my wiz with AOE damage (you know the new splash/area damage you can get on items and in paragon tree) of just 10% on a 50mil crit to 1 mob surrounded by a tun of mobs would instantly do 5mil dmg to everything around. I go through T6 on my wiz like its normal mode, I am just saying that Mira was not even the most efficient way to paragon level yet they nerfed it because everyone was doing them.
On your guild saying "God...I can't wait for them to fix this so I can stop..." is just a simple lack of discipline to not have to follow what everyone else is doing. I did Mira runs for about 5 minutes and stopped because it was too boring, plus I found my goblin spot so I do him now. Sounds like your guild needs to put on their big shoes and play the game how they want and not to follow what everyone else is doing. I would ask your guild when they are all on, Lets jump off a bridge together and see how many follow because essentially that's what you are saying they were doing and couldn't stop because they had to follow instead of make their own decisions.
No, when you play a game seriously you take advantage of the best possible way of doing things whether you enjoy it or not. Why willingly handicap yourself? Why do a run that you enjoy when it gives 5 mil exp to the 15 mil Mira gave in the same amount of time? Simply put, if you play seriously, you wouldn't. As a player who lives in online games, it was more than obvious those runs were going to be fixed the very first 2-3 runs I did. You'd have to be a pure hearted fool to not think otherwise. It was the -only- way to level. There was no alternative. After knowing those existed, why woud you waste your time doing other things? I'm not insulting you, I just don't understand why someone would break their legs and crawl around just for the sake of being special when you can stand in a glorious elevator that gave you massages and did your taxes for you.

People handicapped themselves doing these runs because they were easy, and majority of people are LAZY and don't want to put effort into it and is why Mira runs came to be.
