I played on the PTR almost the entire time it was up. Never knew there was a "3 times in a row" limitation.Quote from Battle Yoshii take it you didn't partake on PTR. 3 is pretty decent since you can tp all over the place at the push of 1 button vs the waypoints.

On normal you will have no issues, even starting from scratch. In fact, I would reccomend Expert just so it goes a little faster. If things get dicey, just drop it back down.Quote from phatosen
Anyone with experience from PTR who can say anything about general difficulty? For example, is it harder or easier to level a hardcore to 60 in patch 2.0.1? On the new Normal difficulty, of course. -

It's true that people sometimes fail to grasp the meaning of the word, but to say "a coupple of weeks" and actually mean "in a month" just doesn't make a lot of sense - I'm willing to guarantee that 2.01 wont go live as late as march 20th.
At this point we know that the game itself is exactly 4 weeks from reelase. I think any date between now and then is just fine and dandy. -

or as Blizzard like to define the game themselves - Hero Brawler.
Anyway, played as Diablo at blizzcon, it was fun. He likely has the pre-D3 look because of the role he plays (heavy melee) and to distinguish him from the other heroes. -

Everything is not easier. Torment 2-5 have been made harder to balance the difficulties. You're having trouble reading:Quote from Enty
Are people really complaining that monster density is too high?.... I thought I was fighting a gigantic army of demons not a small pack of bandits. What's with the transmog not being allowed for items that a class can't use... and Why is everything easier. When I start in PTR I'm on Torment 1... What do they want me to start at Torment 6?... Make something in this game challenging please. If everything becomes a faceroll I don't think I'm going to enjoy this game as much as I want to.
"Monster Density has been revisited across Acts I-IV- Players should now encounter smaller packs of monsters less frequently
- Act I has received density retuning to be more challenging at higher levels"

You know you could also just use whatever you want, and just level slightly slower. It isn't a paragon race.Quote from Azrael100
hellfire ring why is it a ring.. why bonus % xp?in D2 it was a charm without bouns xp
would been much better if hellfire ring was a charm instead and we had a charm slot for that
also hate it.. with the unlimited paragon system i feel forced to use a hellfire ring, and a ruby in helmet to get bouns xp -

Really doubled? I just found 3 legendaries in 25 minutes. I don't like it! All this because this green guy post that droprate is too low. Some gamers don't know how to farm items. -

So before there was a faction of people complaining that legendaries were too common and they would get everything, becoming boored a month into the game. Now they slow that down a bit (for testing only to try some things), and another faction complains.
Game design, everyone!

It sounds like they basically used up their entire RoS budget and now have to beg & plead every time they need a friggin' texture, sound effect or *gasp* 3D Model.Almost if they were a little indie dev who has to decide whether to pay the rent or implement a new feature.Their budget may not necessarily be "used up" but it may already be allocated to other things. Budgets aren't just money, but they are also time. What they are talking about is a very common thing in game development. If design wants new things, content creators have to find time and money to do it, so it has to be a really game impacting/changing feature in order to demand time from an artist or tech to implement it. Designers can get a lot out of existing assets.
The problem with this kind of community sourced design is that the community is not privy to how much the design team has available to them already.
FWIW, designers have to beg and plead for new stuff at every stage of development. It's the checks and balances of game design.

While I'm not saying you are using hyperbole here, the reports about loot experiences are so varied that they almost become invalid (i.e. random loot is random). My experience was the opposite of this. I got a pretty decent amount of drops and supplemented with crafted/vendor.Quote from lorien1973
Loot 2.0 both sucks and is awesome at the same time. The lack of drops (even bad ones) is demoralizing. Killing things -feels- pointless, especially at a higher level. At a lower level, it's worse. I made a 1 level (master) and leveled him to 15 so far. All his gear is either vendor or crafted. The legendary I did find was replaced 10 minutes later. This -sucks-. Good thing so much gold drops, cuz it feels like you are going to need it. I was level 10 before I even reached Cain so that felt odd. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

"n this video I briefly go through the items I found and explain why they're mostly useless, why legacy gear along with crafted Archon rares is the best option until RoS..."
but finish that with:"and why there's really nothing to do but grind XP"
That assumes that acquiring legendaries is done in place of grinding exp. But you will likely fnd legendaries in the course of grinding exp, and in some cases they will be better than rares (especially if you are a new character or transitioning from Master to Torment+). So calling legendaries "useless" is something that doesn't hold that much meaning. There are too many threads about the relative quality/dro rates of items which are, by design, the most random things in this game.
I must be missing some connection here or something.

Everyone can post their ideas on the internet and just because they do, it doesn't mean the walls (and trashcans) at Blizzard aren't lined with ideas that never made it into the game for whatever reason.

It is named Diablo and the game is fun. That's all that really matters. If you're waiting with your breath held for always online to go away, you might want to exhale.

The ability to move the difficulty around lets you tweak the game until it is the perfect difficulty for you/your hero. Overall, great job by Blizzard.
