If it's anything like the way WoW achievements are set-up - the FoS will be a separate tab and they aren't GRAY. They're just simply NOT there if you don't have them.
I think it would work in a similar fashion so that people don't go :(.
I think the true "Feat of Strength" is opting in all Contests and Raffles one could find, and never getting in the closed beta. And when May 1st rolls around, accepting the fact you failed yourself as a diablo fan. and moving on even though all you wanted was to participate in the diablo 3 beta. I think people that never got into the Closed Beta, should receive the "Feat of Strength" achievement. Since we're the ones that had to suffer and read all these posts about the systems and gameplay, imagining we were the ones randomly chosen for the Closed Beta. WE ARE THE STRONG ONES!
luck should be rewarded - and it WAS rewarded.. by access to the beta.
...logic. it's your friend.
You only foolishly presume it was mere luck. Maybe I applied for beta the moment it became possible. Maybe I participated in more than a dozen shitty contests around the internet just to get my key and experience the game before the others. And maybe I won one of them.
Take your biased logic elsewhere. There is nothing wrong with mine.
Maybe I entered into untold number of contests, maybe I also signed up for the beta the instant it was available, and maybe I STILL wasn't as LUCKY as you.
It still comes down to luck, no matter how you want to dress it up. There is something wrong with your "logic" - the fact that it ISN'T logic. Your reward was your opportunity to participate in the beta.
Maybe some people would've loved to have been in on the ground floor and helped Blizzard build this fantastic game, and didn't get the chance. And maybe those people feel a little slighted that the fact that no matter how hard they tried, no matter how many contests they entered, they didn't get into the beta. I never once complained that I wasn't in it, because it was based on luck, and I just didn't have any at the time. That's nobody's fault. But I should continue to be penalized for my bad luck even after the game is released.
It's not THAT big of a deal. I'm just saying it hurts a little bit. So piss off. You're wrong.
Whatever dude, Blizzard already released a statement that clearly explains their LOGIC behind the Feats of Strenght and the ways that they can be achieved in their games. If you don't like it, fine. But they have been doing this same thing for over five years now and people are still crying over it.
Your 'logic' applies only to a perfect world of universal fairness where no one is ever screwed out of anything. Except that is not how things work, and you seem intelligent enough to already know that very well.
I ain't here to fight you, but you just come out as someone who is very jaded about this matter. Let it go man, it ain't gonna change.

"Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the small death that brings total obliteration."
Yes, let's reward those who were already rewarded by getting half a year of beta access... meanwhile everyone else who didn't get the golden ticket now gets screwed out of a permanent piece of exclusive in-game content for their battle.net account? How is that even remotely fair? Cool, thanks for rubbing it in even more that I didn't get into the beta (nor did any of my family members who were all opted in). Between this and Blizzard not allowing "Appear Offline" (and requiring constant connectivity no matter what), I'm seriously astonished at just how much they manage to alienate their player-base.
Oh yeah what really confuses me is what the actual motive was to even give these rewards. Since you get the Feat of Luck and exclusive Banner Sigil solely by having received the beta invite or entering a beta key, and not even necessarily even downloading or installing the game, I really cannot understand the reasoning behind this move. If it doesn't even matter if they played the game at all, why not give this stuff to everyone who participated in the open beta? I just don't get it. "Good job, you got randomly chosen! Here's a reward for that!" ... Who comes up with this stuff?
Even if the FoS does give a banner unlock, who cares? it's a banner, not gear, not extra levels. I can guarantee you that 1 week after release noone will actually give a crap about this issue.
OMG blizzard seriosuly f**k you guys, I tried so hard in arena for this frostwyrm mount and feat of strength, but I didn't get it. It's not fair, why don't you give it to all your real fans who really wanted to be first in arena for that season
http://www.wowwiki.c...8achievement%29
and omg f**k you again blizzard! for not giving me a ticket for 2005's blizzcon. I tried really hard to get a ticket from here in australia but obviously my internet is not as fast as being in america so it;s not fair! I'm your biggest fan I've bought all your games multiple times each! not fair, let me have this one too!
and all of these too because I try really hard to get a ticket to blizzcon every year and I never get one! I've been your fan forever!!!
Seriously everyone, get. over. it
This.

I'm still amazed why people react to it... i don't want to repeat my post but...
nah... Complain away people!
Edit: To clarify, It's not a Banner Unlock, it's a sigil. A small icon to be placed on your banner. Small enough that in-game this wouldn't matter. The FoS would appear (apparently) only in the achievement menu of those who will get it, you (who didn't get into beta) will not see it unless you're watching them play and they keep popping that window just to show it to you (if that's the case, you're dealing with an ass#0!e, you can punch him).
I think this is pretty cool, even if I didn't get into the beta I still would think it's cool. But the fact is people who got in the beta won't complain about this and those who didn't will. That's just the fact of life. People will find something to complain about, for pure joy or selfish reasons.
Exactly what is this "in-game content" you speak of? A FoS? Big deal. A Sigil? OMG GAME-BREAKING!!!!
Seriously, get over yourself and your sense of entitlement, if this really bothers you that much, then your life must be pathetic.
Actually, I'm just making some pretty obvious points. So, if the banner sigil doesn't matter, then are the Tyrael wings and exclusive dyes from the CE also of no value? Do you realize that some game developers make almost their entire profits solely on aesthetic items in games? For example, character skins in League of Legends that have zero effect on gameplay, and yet people will shell out $5 or more just for one skin.
So, you're getting all rage/troll mode because I'm unhappy about randomly-chosen people getting more content in their copy of Diablo 3 than I am. It's actually 100% rational of me to be irritated by this. Can anyone provide a rational explanation for why it's wrong of me to be frustrated about this? That's a rhetorical question, because you can't. A very large number of people are frustrated about this issue, and they are not wrong for feeling that way. That's something you apparently don't understand, but it would be pretty cool if you did, because you're actually harassing me for having an absolutely-legitimate complaint about a piece of content that SOME players will get and that I (and 99% of other D3 players) will not.
Do you have a link to any official source stating that 2 million beta invites were given out? I don't believe that's even remotely possible. I just found an article that states they expect around 3.5 million sales by the end of the year. I somehow doubt they gave out nearly as many beta keys as actual sales they expect to make this year. Actually, based on info I can find, it seems like they only gave out maybe a couple hundred thousand beta keys. Still, if you have an actual legit source for this claim of 2 million people getting into the beta, I'd love to see it.
You clearly didn't understand my point about the LoL skins. What I was saying is, "more pixels in a computer game" clearly has value to people, considering they are actually willing to pay money for them. So, by extension, this beta-reward sigil clearly has value. Therefore, the beta players are getting doubly rewarded. Does that make sense?
I don't even actually care that much. I just think it's a total dick move by Blizzard, and I'm being vocal about it because I feel they should be called out on it. They are basically trolling everyone who didn't get into the beta. That's all there is to it. I can't believe how much anger you're projecting onto me and the words I wrote. It's pretty messed up, actually. Chill the hell out man.
I got into the beta 1 week after media and fansites got in, I got in via the opt-in process. I wasn't expecting something like this, it is nice, not really needed. But I understand everyone wanting one.
I think everyone else needs to calm the F down... As blues have said it's like winning the Lotto, we have been told 2 million people were in the beta. So that's 2 million accounts that won the D3 Sigil/FoS Lottery.
Do you all seriously bi%$h and moan / carry on if you guys don't win the RL lottery? If you do WTF are you able to do about it.... nothing you brought the ticket to get a chance to get in(opt in process), then during the beta there were lots of beta key giveaways(more chance) and then the numbers were drawn...Everyone else lost...
Suck it up and move on, no one was entitled to anything... Let me repeat that... NO ONE WAS ENTITLED TO THIS.
It is purely cosmetic for people that got in to the Closed D3 Beta. /thread
I really don't think Blizzard was intentionally trolling everyone who didn't get into the beta. Even if it was a bad move by Blizzard, they were willing to risk it because they thought it wouldn't really matter much. Do you honestly see people cancelling their pre-orders/not buying this game because they didn't get an FoS/sigil? I'd like to think the game itself would have much more value that that.
Do you want Blizzard to retract their announcement? That would be a worse move IMO.
There has been a new QQ daily about the game, which yesterdays was about the "anime" being "not great." Today's QQ seems so serious that it will probably take up two whole days of QQ, and it's the most arbitrary and trivial of all the QQ's yet. I will honestly go into every public game I can find and slam down my unique sigil banner relentlessly to see how salty it gets. Hopefully by the time the game comes out, all these crybabies can learn to be potty trained, put on their big boy pants, and forget about it so I won't feel the need to do this. Blizzard didn't murder your family and make you watch, nor did they lie to you. So stop acting like they pissed in your cheerios. If this affects your life in any serious way, I recommend a psychiatrist. My roommate, just got his masters, send me a PM and I can get you a discount and we will get your mental deficiencies fixed.
Man, I'm going to be totally honest here because I think a dash of honesty might open some eyes. I find it totally disheartening and pretty depressing how so many people are dishing out personal attacks and insults towards people who aren't happy with the whole FoS/sigil thing. This kind of crap really reminds me why I rarely post on forums.
Seriously, I want to have some real discussion but nearly every response I receive is some kind of insult or attack. I don't see why I'll ever post here again when this is the way people are treated here. I'm here to have a discussion - whether right or wrong, whether we agree or not. I didn't come here to have people tell me I'm "mentally deficient" or to "get the stick out of my ass" or "stop bitching like a 5 year old for christ's sake". What an unbelievably worthless excuse for a "discussion".
Edit: I'm not even exaggerating, I'm now going to bed in a totally shitty mood because I thought I'd have some genuine debate/discussion about this issue but all I got was a bunch of people totally shitting on me and plenty of others. Thanks, I really appreciate it.
Alright let me articulate why I don't think this is fair. Blizzard has stated in the past feats of strength were something very difficult or something that is impossible to obtain anymore. They have maintained however through actions and wording that everyone has a chance at the feats. But with this beta that has been flipped, not everyone could have a chance for this feat, infact short of black martket buying a CD Key from a fansite there was no way to be guaranteed to get it.
Now before you say things like "well I never had a chance to get a gladiator FoS.". This is false you had every chance to get it, you just didn't that is why them giving a FoS away for beta after maintaining for years they would never do it alienates their userbase.

All i had to do to get into beta was to subcribe to a nvidia newsletter. They were giving away invites to the first 400 subscribers.
They also gave away invites throu twitter and anybody could have been checking twitter to get those invites.
