I just hope the animation for the desert is no where near a finished product and theres alot of editing and polishing left because for this game to come out in 2011 I personally expect some polish to be added to graphics, i want crisp and textured. Why am i drooling?
They really haven't changed anything at all with Diablo 3 in terms of coloring/shading. All the people who were crying about the art direction of Diablo 3 were going off a couple videos and some screen shots.
Seriously, now that we've got a ton more information and got a real look on how things really are in the new Diablo Universe, there is hardly anything to complain about. (Atleast for me)
I think everything looks awesome.
You've got weak faith in Blizzard. They always pull through.
I have nothing to complain about the graphics in the game.
Perfect for me.
I missed just a bit of antialiasing, but that, any video card emulates the effect.
but I'm sure it will have a option for antialiasing in the game.

And... come in close... closer... D2 had one of the brightest deserts I have ever seen. I don't know why you don't mention that...
Doesn't that make sense? Wouldn't a dark desert be almost pleasant? Cool temperatures and such.
Anyway, I feel kind of similarly. My faith has been restored a bit with all this new info. Not that my faith was ever so-low, but a few things that were bothering me have been changed (like the inventory, and lack of waypoints). Indeed, it isn't so colorful as the early screenshots, but that just proves what i already knew - the whole game won't be filtered through different shades of purple. They'll be giving us variety. I'm fine with that.
I think a lot of the textures could be more detailed, - grittier, but it would be hard to get the level of detail I'd want and still run on most systems. one of the pitfalls of 3d, I suppose.

My typical train of thought: Everything -> Sex -> Diablo
I agree that im very happy with the atmosphere of the desert. It was definately dreary. I hope they will add this dreariness to those indoor areas in the previous gameplay video with the barb/witchdoctor.
I wonder how these areas will look when its night time *drool*
This is Blizzard we are talking about ---B-L-I-Z-Z-A-R-D !!!!!
My only 2 concerns are 1 - can they work with a graphic system today that will still look new 2 years from now ? So far, I like the envirnments, I love the shading and colors. But with technology advancing so quickly, DirectX 12 will probably be out, and a slew of video cards with much more capabilities than we have now. Yet, I have faith !!
Oh, and 2 - I hope they dont go overboard with the whole 'blood everywhere' thing. I mean some of those Monk vids showed him exploding monsters into nothingness lol. I think its a bit overdone, unless they were just trying to convey how powerful his attacks are. I just dont want it overused to the point where it loses its effectiveness as a graphical enhancement to both gameplay and atmosphere.
I dont really care about grpahics. The color thing...It was never to bright or looked like WoW. I dont care if there grahpics are 2 years out of date. Hell Id play it if the graphics were the same as D1.....Its not all about graphics people. NEVER judge a game by its graphics.

I agree, why did you lose "faith"? Because there was liberal use of the colour wheel? If you look at the Boarderlands and the videos, there is still use of colour, but because it's in the desert, you're getting a lot more browns and golds.
Silly people.
