a lot of people make threads on the bad things of diablo 3, or a list of greatest fears. lets be positive for a little bit. what has blizzard gotten right with diablo 3?
Its blizzard. chances are most everything is done right. Looking at there track record no amount of bitching from ultra picky fans will convince me otherwise, at the very least I wont worry about it until I play the game myself.

You said it best.
Yea tho. It is Blizzard.
So far they've got it right.
Let's just hope they don't mess it up.
Even tho. there's no need to worry, but you always know how "experiments" work out.
Let's hope they don't throw in let's say a feature that bombs the whole games.
Other than that.
Diablo III is in good hands my friend.

I'm confident that any small issues that I see in the future or have now (which are close to none) will work themselves out in a timely manner, won't matter to me when I'm playing the game, or I will come to like them eventually.

See, if WoW did not exist then I would agree. Everything about WoW, for me, was a major failure. It's got nothing to do with how it looks and everything to do with gameplay. Every expansion has been a major failure. Every new addition showed me a complete lack of competence.
Remove WoW and I would agree entirely. Blizzard has a great track record. From Rock and Roll Racing to The Lost Vikings to WC3. Everything has been great. Really well made, high production values, well designed, etc. Of course there have been patches to things I disagree with, but nothing as completely horrible as WoW was (again, for me).
However, I see the influences that WoW has had on Diablo 3 and some of those things are not good... primarily in the art style that is slowly turning itself in to what I feel Diablo looks like (compared to the release video and screen shots, the game already looks fourteen times more like Diablo than it originally did!).
The skill system looks repulsive. Way too many passive abilities, especially for the wizard. Just bring back synergies, but instead of hastily making it to try an attempt at balance, think them through. Build the game around them. More is better, and so far I'm not impressed with the number of ACTUAL spells the wizard has.
For things I feel they've done right...
Character design. Spot on with the Witch Doctor. From the shaking hands to the armor, so far... awesome.
The lighting needs some work, primarily with removing the blue-green tint that plagues an area of the game but the lighting that some spells give off is awesome.
The rune system is probably the best aspect of the game thus far. Absolutely loving the idea.
So far, that's really it. I'm indifferent about the majority of other changes.
I always saw the addition of more passive skills as the trade with Attributes
But you say, that there are less active spells/skills. I would bet (my left nut) that there is more viable builds overall though. Most of the active skills in Diablo 2 were useless. Increasing the amount of passive skills will increase customization because they actually serve a purpose to your character, and being passive, will fundamentally alter how you play your character

/agree. I'd add Warcraft 3 to the list though, that was a failure for me. But nothing even approaches the complete and utter reversal I've gone through after experiencing WoW, from blizzard being absolutely the best company ever to just another cash whore.

They've done mostly good so far minus the automatic stat point distribution. The graphics are good, the design is good, the characters are good (Necromancer > Witch Doctor but whatever), and the sound is good.
Blizzard has always known what they were doing, and i'm sure they spent more time on these forums than we do looking into what fans really want, i really like the ragdoll physics idea, and they're including alot of content from their books in the game it seems, like Caldeum as a place we can finnaly explore XD I also like that (it at least appears) they brought back the Barbarian from the original game(even though i feel that so far they've completely botched his image into a thrall look alike >:-[ )
No complaints here...ever...since day one! I think everything they are doing is awesome. Autostats took me back a little; but then I realized like others how that might lead to other areas of growth that may in turn lead to lots more build variations and distinct characters. Actually, I do have one complaint...I want to see more...I want to know more about the new systems in place..especially the new rune system..so awesome. I'm preaching to the choir; I know.
Yeah, I agree about that, actually. Not too much, personally- I like them- but I can see how it could interrupt the fast-paced Diablo experience. I like them because it feels more immersive story-wise and graphically. If they became over-used, we'd have a lot of people making new angry threads around here... (Although I like cutscenes.)
Are these cut scenes in addition to cinematics, or are they taking their place?
I hope they are in addition, because if the cut the cinematics I will be rather upset with Blizz.
I honestly don't think they would cut the cinematics tho. They need to make a Diablo III Cinematics DVD after the game has been out for a while!!

I like how Whirlwind looks now. From what I've seen Wizard>Sorceress. Its hard to beat the necromancer as a summoner class but I don't think the Witch Doctor will be his replacement. In other words, I don't think that there will be just 1 summoner.

Out of all Blizzard products...have we ever been disappointed?

That is what i thought
In regards to DIII, the only thing that annoys me at the moment is the dialogue insertions and the cutscenes... I'm a bit worried about that.
