Didn't blizz say they totally eliminated the pot system?
No What they showed off is the new Globe system. Now it wont drop that often but what it does is make Potions less important. Now Pots still drop their just not going to be spammed like they were in D2.
I'm really happy this didn't turn into a flame war. Typically any mention of WoW without negative context would result in banishment. Thanks for listening

Why can't a heterosexual guy tell a heterosexual guy that he thinks his booty is fly?
Maybe not the way you mentioned but if there was some type of area seperate from the main game which is extremely over the top hard, id be down with that. i just find the typical "raid" waists a lot of time getting ready.
I don't remember them saying that. I didn't SEE any in the trailer but I can't see them getting rid of it completely, how would you battle bosses? Mana orbs and Health orbs wouldn't just pop up in the middle of boss fights.
Well, the thoughest bosses could constantly spawn monsters somewhat like the ubers, or you're simply going to have to dodge their strongest attacks or nullify them somehow (like with an antidote or thawing potion).

I'm all for improvements as long as they don't force you to be a specific class role.

Nope, just rewatched the Assault Beast fight, the Witch Doctor definitely used a health potion.
I am honsetly stunned to get this reception. I was bracing myself behind my flame shield before I posted it. I deliberately tested it on Gamefaqs where there is 1 person in 100 of any significance, and once I realized that this wasn't that WoW-like I brought it here

Ranger - Ranged Weapon Mastery (fire a bow or javelins like a machine gun!), Traps (MK style!), Pets (lions, tigers, and bears oh my!) - physical damage based
Demonologist - Bone Spells (Necro style!), Avatar (shapeshift into a demon!), Furies (evil spirits that hang around you, giving party bonuses) - mix of physical damage and magic
LEAP ATTACK!!!!! PLAGUE OF TOADS!!!!!
SLOW TIME!!!!!
I cannot post on the official forum, so would anyone with the wherewithal to do so be kind enough to create a thread with my first post, along with a link to this thread? Thank you in advance
And of course, you may shower yourself with credit

as someone mentioned earlier, i would not be opposed to there being end game type crypts, or special areas with rediculously hard monsters that would require a group effort, but as far as a "raid" goes... its not really diablo style play. most diablo players are used to hitting 80+ with good gear and being able to solo baal. instituting a "raid" system wouldnt really give the older players that experience they were looking for. now something like the ubers... althought ubers were also able to be soloed... where you would have to have 8 players in the game to beat the zone, or say 5 extremely well equipped chars. and rewarded some much better loot... i wouldnt be against that at all. it would deffinately add that co-op and more group oriented play style that blizzard mentioned would be in D3. lets just not see class roles please, i love playing barbs, but being forced to tank would ruin diablo for me
Sitting in vent listening to 24 or 39 mouth breathers chit chat about crap I don't like isn't fun and I hated the fact I couldn't go find my own gear instead I was forced to put up with those retards so I could collect tier1,2,3,4,5,6 and see the final boss of the game in world of warcraft.
Doing meph runs, baal and cows leveling a new character or just hanging with friends in diablo 2 was vastly superior to any raid I've done in world of warcraft(kil'jaeden). These mouth breathers always slacked off and there was always 1 or 2 people who sucked badly but got in cause they're friends of raid leaders and other crap.
Diablo 2 is great because your character becomes freaking god and can kill ANYTHING in the game, when you get enough gear you can kill 7 people at the same time. MMO's are fun sometimes, but diablo is diablo it's not about fun with the family. Having a boss more powerful than the most decked out characters in the game goes against diablo and diablo2.
Yes you can solo uber diablo if you had the gear/class and a decked out merc.

While I liked your idea of having hard crypts for endgame content, I don't think these should be rewarded with BETTER items necessarily, but better drop rates. And these items should not be able to circulate through the economy. This way we maintain the integrity of MFing, while allowing geared, or just plain insance players go apeshit on some demons on steroids.

The problem I see with this is that it completely negates magic finding.
If you can do say 10 runs to get a leet item in a group why in the hell would anyone do 100 runs to get that same item?
Also I believe this hurts the economy. In wow many of the items are unattainable for the average player. This is because you can ONLY find them in raid instances and the only way to beat the raid is with a group of 60 or so highly skilled players. Not only does this mean you have to find a group of skilled players to beat the raid but chances are you won't be able to find a group without being a part of a guild that has incredible requirements to be a part of.
I for one do not want to "schedule" my life around a guild. If I decide I want a particular Item I want to be able to mf it myself or mf other items to trade up to that item. not only does that allow me the freedom to play other games but it allows me to play at my leisure.
I believe raids are a bad idea for this type of game. Raids are invented in an MMO style game to create unity and a sense of being for those people that choose to "LIVE" a game but the thing is diablo was never meant to be LIVED.
IMO diablo was a game that was addictive enough to play for hours on end with or without a group. The addition of the group aspect meant you could have 3-4 friends that you knew in real life join in for a weekend or two. But if you had to depend on people from different states or countries that you have never met before just to beat a certain part of a game then you are asking for a level of commitment that myself and many others simply do not want to give.

Seems like they'll still be around.
Of course but to what extent I don't guess we'll know until D3 comes out.
There should be no class specifications, therefore almost any group of 10-20 people would be viable for a raid.
Agreed. If they do it any combination of classes should be able to do it.
