Definitely no Bind on Pick-up. The way items flyout of monsters, its not like WoW.
With Bind on Equip I'm on the fence, but I really like using items I made on one character and bringing it to the next one and the next one. Sort of like a Grandfather's pocket watch.
The items being able to be shuffled used, given to people, gotten back is such a huge part of Diablo.

I think the "no one is forcing you" argument is flawed, in the case.
People started making mules as a work around limitations, thus, it was a response to a flaw in the game design. Of corse, solutions to problems can lead to even worse problems, read : "gasoline price controls."
^^^ Wait, what does muling have to do with anything concering this topic? This topic is about trying to solve the issue of over abundancy in the item market. Being able to mule or not has nothing to do with this.
Maybe instead of having either of the systems, an automatic personalization of the item. Inferno'sGrandfather Sword
Like a bind name on equip so that people could know the item your using you didn't find yourself but traded for or was given by another character. But if it is yours it doesn't show.
I ran into someone trying to trade me a skulder's ire that was personalized with one of my first characters... that was kinda cool.

I honestly don't like this idea at all. I actually like random items being the currency. It's so much different then other games. I hate having gold as the currency and i hate not being able to actually trade a badass item that i have found. Nty

That really takes away from the immersion of the game, in my humble opinion. Also, I believe this was a act 4 or act 5 quest where an item got personalized.
Me, personally, I would feel "dirty" using an item that has someone else's name on it.
That ruins the whole concept in Diablo. Diablo II (Lord of Destruction) was all about trading items and having the best of best. If they get rid of that, it will ruin the concept and not be as fun. It will be fine if Blizzard makes gold have more value but they can't/won't change the way of items being traded. If they do, I will be really disappointed as a HUGE fan of the Diablo series.
People how think adding a BoE and BoP is a good system are idiots. Sorry, but that ruins the whole concept in Diablo. Diablo II (Lord of Destruction) was all about trading items and having the best. Call me whatever you want but your idea of BoE and BoP is a bad idea. Obviously you didn't play Diablo II. Most people played Diablo II LOD mostly for trading and having the best items. Lastly, you sound like a 10 year old who likes to play WOW.

I have played Diablo 2 LoD since it came out, and only stopped playing a year ago. That's about 6-7 years on and off. I was also entirely engrossed with the trading system as I love bartering with people and buying low and selling high. I love the aspect of business and economics, even in video game form.
Now, what is your retort, you fucking cunt? That I am not a "true" Diablo fan? That I am just a 10-year-old? Your assumptions show what a true fucking slut you are. Fucking faggot.
Anyways.
So how do you justify this system?
In other words, what is your explanation? Flavor-wise, that is.
Yeah, I don't usually flame but it was on a whim after drinking a few beers and eating fried pork (yes, I'm Korean).
But, myself and many others have already gone through this many times but I will go through as many times as needed for others to understand the proposed system.
BoE, not BoP (I've already decided against using BoP after hearing great argument from you guys earlier in the thread), will retain some fiber of a true economy in Diablo 3. Whereas in Diablo 2, any item will potentially circulate through the economy forever, never being destroyed or sold because there was no need to. This, in result, causes the influx of these items (whether rare or unique) to have their value lowered because the supply is through the roof.
BoE will at least keep some of these items out of the system by, lack of a better word, forcing you to sell or destroy the item because it cannot be transferred nor traded after EQUIPPING it.
So, the true fashion of Diablo 2 of trading items for items will retain, but will be limited.
To those who are opposed to an item regulation system, do you all pretty much not give a damn about what will happen to the D3 item market? I mean, seriously, I understand that it will be somewhat of an inconvenience to have an item regulation system, but that is what is needed to avoid the destructive consequences of not having one. Do you really want things to turn out where a good portion of the Uniques/Rares in the game eventually are valued as worthless?
And people, please refrain from posting such garbage like saying how this will mess up the trading part of the game......NO IT WON'T! You CAN still trade in the game with an item regulation system. Who the hell is stopping you? All this means is that you just have to plan out what is the best way to use a certain item ~ie. if you're going to save it for later use, or use it in a trade for a better item. That's not so freakin' hard.
I mean, for F's sake, just look at the D2 economy. Yes, I KNOW it was f'ed up more by all the hacking/duping, but you can't deny that one of the main reasons why it's like that is due to it's item regulation system, or lack thereof. More than half of the Uniques in D2 are worthless, and that's not how I want D3 to end up.
I want the joy of finding a Unique item, no matter if it's a low level Unique or one that is sought after, and know that it is still worth something. I never again will want to see a situation where I see a Unique drop for me, and not think much about it or feel any excitement towards it knowing that it's worth jack ****! If that happens, what the hell is the point of calling the item a "Unique" anymore, when you know there's countless others of it being junked around the market.
Seriously people, please try to understand the ramifications of an unregulated market.....

Hehe, Razer. I really appreciate your efforts and others as well, Krauser and Zellogs. But how many times can we say the same thing to people who act with emotion over and over again? They want Diablo 3 to be Diablo 3 all over again because it makes them giddy. Instead of facing facts that Diablo 2's economy was messed up from the get-go and I'm 100% positive that wasn't Blizzard's intention at all. We can only hope that a Blizzard dev will understand the ramifications if they don't implement some kind of system.
Me, personally, I would feel "dirty" using an item that has someone else's name on it.
I would think it would give items more culture and history.
Maybe skip the name and have "this item has been traded x many times".
An items an item, it still gives all the stats if its personalized or looks like a brown cap.
I used to only trade for unidentified items so that they'd be legit back when crap dupes were a plenty. Though Buyer beware should always be in your mind when trading.

1. Did I say that you were a 10 year old? Just look at yourself, all I said is that your theory/idea sucks and you're getting really defensive about it like a girl. So stop acting like a 10 year old boy who can't take some negative feedback.

3. If you had played diablo for 6-7 years then you should know that trading items is a huge concept in Diablo and they shouldn't take that out.
Stop acting immature and just accept the fact that your idea/theory sucks and don't bother replying unless your going to explain a good reason why your idea works, because I already can predict that your just going to say i'm an idiot, slutty, korean gook.

I am strongly against BoP/BoE. Another solution is to reset the ladder more often so that the market does not die as easily.
