The worst thing about gold in Diablo games, and this has probably already been said, is that you have to pick it up. Instead of each amount of gold just being automatically deposited into your inventory after killing a monster.
I'm kind of compulsive so I almost always have to pick it up. And I just get sick of doing it cause there's always so much gold lying around. And I don't mean vast amounts of gold, but just tons of piles of gold from anything to 25-2500 pieces.
What if in Diablo III you had to double click on each dead monster and loot it's "goodie bag" before going on? That would take forever - especially if it remained fast-paced
If it was that way, then I would insist that only Champion monsters be lootable and that they carry more decent goods. I mean, sure, all the regular monsters are always dropping items, but 98 percent of it is crap anyway. However, I'll pick up armor from time to time cause that can easily be like 10,000 gold right there.
I don't think the pick up thing is an issue, of course it's annoying but there will be probaly ways to use interface script for such a thing so when you pass near the body it quickly picks it up.
Funny how while i played the PVP thing, even if the gold wasn't realy important nor hard to obtain i always teleport for a different Act and drop all my gold so latter i could PVP without to worry about my gold, the host always d/c and goodbye gold.. but still i didn't care. go figure!
I just thinki gold pick up should be like in Warcraft 3 when you kill a creep. It automatically is deposited. But Diablo style I hope wouldn't allow the amount of gold to float above their bodies right after you kill them. Like how the +46 floats into the air.
Gold should at least be worth something. The in-game currency should actually be used as currency in the game. Runes worked okay as currency but I didn't care much for how soj's were being used.

Appreciate what you've got because, basically, I'm fantastic.
i say they shouldnt make gols important... i think currncy in items is much better but if they do make it a currency they should lower the price of repairs... but in d2 gold was soppose to be a currency just nobody cares about gold and we all decided to use items instead.

Working with adobe and/or java is like pushing a paper clip against a building and expecting it to move...
nah i really think that gold should be used as a currency they need to do something to either make it rarer or something...or i like the idea of like silver copper and then rare gold
Yeah, gold is used to commonly as currency in many games. They should try a new metal out or make one up entirely. That would be more interesting if you ask me.
Yes. In Diablo 2 and it wasn't important, but in Diablo 1 it kind of was. Gold should be an important thing and not so easy to find. Then you will actually concern yourself with the significance of it. And you won't throw it away and give to people without doubt. That's my opinion

I like the life I lived, because I went from negative to positive.
You know very well who you are, don't let them hold you down, reach for the stars.
Diablo 1, at the end was ALL gold, what are you, a dumb shit? How else do you get the good stuff from Wirt, it's easier to get it from him than the monsters.
D2 gold was hilariously useless. Let's keep it that way, gives us another way to laugh at the noobs.

dude in d1 gold was useless...you could dupe ur starting 200 gold a bajillion times by clicking a potion when u went to pick gold and dropping it effectively duping ur gold...there was no point in gold in either of them...lets keep it that way
i put in between just because the whole sojs, high runes currency was so interesting to me in diablo 2, instead of everyone trying to get gold to buy whatever they want, they trade items... it's like pokemon cards:D
