So I just finished reading that last blue post and I can't help notice that the devs tend to use the terms, "Plan to", "trying", "should be", "need to do more to improve", and none that say we are actually working on....This is a rage post and I just wanted to say something =).....along the lines of stop fucking around blizzard and get your shit together, there are plenty of ideas that can improve this game, some of them are very simple. For starters, take your team that worked on the console version and take them in to improve the PC/Mac version. At the rate these patches come in your players get tired and bored of the simple one sided ideas that you implement.
tl;dr Blizz get your shit together, stop brainstorming ideas and actually make some =) /ragequit.
That's because they can't be held liable for not implementing something that's been "planned."
If they said "We are working on XYZ," but XYZ never shows up, then they're in a real bind. But if they say "We are going to eventually plan on addressing issue XYZ," you really can't hold them accountable when XYZ is never fixed.
Can you imagine how many people would have flipped and QQ'd if Blizzard decided to completely scrap all PvP elements from the game after promising the implementation of PvP, not just team deathmatch?
If they specifically said right now, "We are going to fix itemization by doing XYZ," they're going to be held liable if itemization isn't "fixed" by some upcoming patch.

They aren't legally liable for anything like that. Hell Faux Noise openly lies and misinforms the public daily, and they even have the audacity to say they are a news organization. They were taken to the supreme court, and their defense wasn't that their info was factual, but that they had the right to lie under the 1st amendment. They of course won, because they were right.
They give the playerbase the lead around because its all PR. You don't tell the customer his shit is fucked up, and you don't know when its going to be fixed. Well not if you want to keep customers anyways...
I know i just wanted to rage that's all. With a company like blizzard, i guess i was expecting a little better. The game is close to being a year old. Thought they'd do more by now.

A LOT has been done since launch day in May 2012.
- class balances (buffs and nerfs)
- skill tweaks
- difficulty tweaks
- monster/mob tweaks
- buffed legendaries/sets
- new legendaries/sets
- buffed drop rates
- monster power
- ubers/hellfire ring
- paragon
- leveling in general (EXP)
- crafting
- PvP (brawling)
- hotfixing of exploits
- higher crackdown on botting
- ton of "quality of life" tweaks
Of course any company would like to do more and any consumer would like to see more. But they really have done a lot to address player concerns.
I haven't posted in a while (still playing, though!), but reading that blue post made me wish I could get in direct contact with Travis. Over and over throughout the post, he alludes to the AH being a game-breaking service, such as how it is affecting itemization (and players' satisfaction, or lack thereof, with it), crafting, etc. He also mentions the fact that drop rates and stat rolls on gear will be getting better, i.e. more in line with what players want/expect:
I will briefly say that we agree that too many items drop and we have plans to eventually reduce the rate that players see items, while also taking measures to improve the general quality of items you do see. The end result should be fewer items that are better instead of tons of items you don’t want.
So, how about this: just create some non-AH servers already! I think this was a pre-release idea that didn't make it to launch, but it needs to come back. Make non-AH servers, and give those servers (only) the increased drop rates/rolls. Leave AH-based servers up for those who want that feature, but keep drop rates/rolls the same as they are now on those servers, since players have so much more "access" to gear via the AH anyway. Wouldn't this make everyone happy?
By the way, I know that the RMAH is the real purpose of the AH, and I understand that my solution is very unlikely to be implemented for that reason. But, really, wouldn't it be much better for the game and its players?

i would choose my own religion and worship my own spirit, but if he ever preached to me i wouldn't want to hear it. i'd drop him, a forgotten god, languishing in shame; and then if i hit stormy seas, i'd have myself to blame.

No one wants to hear this. They want something done, no matter what it is, to feel better. Judging by the OP's post, as long as Blizzard just does 'something', that's WAY better the if they plan out something that will work, and implement it later.
You people are ridiculous, especially when you yell you want something done, yet you can't come up with anything besides "fix X issue", without adding any thought to it.

I'll admit when I'm wrong, and the AH is something I was wrong about. Looking back I was completely for the AH; 3rd party sites would pop up anyway, why not implement it and the RMAH? But having played since launch and used the AH since launch, I would totally be in favor of at least non AH servers, or the more extreme option; Removing the AH altogether.

I'm not quite sure how you can have a negative reaction to the Travis Day blue post. Blizzard shows a lot of awareness of major issues in itemization, namely trifecta gear and boring legendaries. The legendary boots example in the first paragraph shows how game-changing items could become. There is also great discussion and insight on issues like rune diversity, customization, and improving self found upgrades.
There is no "on" switch that Blizzard can press to suddenly give us all of these game improvements instantly. The changes mentioned in the blue post are far reaching and will take time to implement (discussion, art and design, coding, testing, etc.). Can anyone just be happy we got a really informative post from a giant video game company about how they want to improve their game for their fanbase?

There is no "on" switch, but if they just flipped the AH switch to "off," a ton of those problems would be solved. Travis himself admits to the fact that if players had to find/trade for upgrades, the "trifecta" of stats would be more of an awesome reward, and less of a requirement.

Another thing that would be nice would be to have active abilities that are inherited from gear, the perfect example would be an item like Enigma, that provides you with an blink skill.
For example, we could have a legendary pair of boots that give you a phase movement ability and +movespeed, instead of the dull design of items we have right now..

I don't think much has been done in a year. Pvp? are you serious? they spent that whole time trying to figure something out when at the end of it all they just let you duel anyways. Nerfing difficulty so that retards could play inferno? or balancing skills and tweaking them so that each class had 1 or 2 speccs that are viable to farm with? The whole point of this "new" skill system was so that there were builds that were competetive with each other excepth there are a handful that dominate the system. Buffed drop rates of legendaries and new legendaries? half of which are instant brimmed regardless of roll. The other half have to roll decent to sell for anything or be even worth using. Ubers and hellfire ring? theres no reason to do ubers after you acquire a somewhat decent hellfire...the least they couldve done is buffed ubers to the point where we could still farm them for other things. Paragon? you mean a system that added extra "exp" bars and levels just so they could get rid of MF in the long run? if thats the case then why is it that we still have MF in the game?. Half of the Diablo 3 player base finds themselves farming for paragon levels which if you wanna be efficient at is just running A3 over and over again. Blizzard needs to make drastic AND minor changes to this game. Now with 1.0.7 out we can actually farm Act 2 VOA....well done....bravo. What about Act 1 and Act 4? Garbage acts for farming anything efficiently. We should be able to farm across acts with somewhat comparative results but Act 3 dominates by FAR. I could keep going and going and going. but i'll stop there.
Nerfing difficulty so that retards could play inferno?
Retards are also customers. And I don't condone calling players retarded when many of them fit in categories like: just not game-adept, 60-hour work weeks and can't focus on the game, focused on education and play casually, etc. Let's not forget why they implemented Monster Power selection. So you don't feel "retarded" when playing on "Inferno."

With any sort of math and theorycrafting, there will always be some sort of build or combination of skills that dominate the others. Same with other games; Final Fantasy RPGS - some equipment and skill selection will outshine the rest no matter how else you attempt to tackle the games.
Buffed drop rates of legendaries and new legendaries? half of which are instant brimmed regardless of roll. The other half have to roll decent to sell for anything or be even worth using.
Do you prefer pre-1.04 legendaries? I'd prefer to brim 50% more often rather than 90% of legendaries you see once in a blue moon.
Ubers and hellfire ring? theres no reason to do ubers after you acquire a somewhat decent hellfire...the least they couldve done is buffed ubers to the point where we could still farm them for other things.
Perhaps you've never attempted to do ubers just for fun. Or to socialize with some friends while doing a run. Or have you never found anything that dropped from ubers other than a chance mat under MP10? Like any other boss or elite, they can drop a ton of high-potential loot other than mats. I don't use a Hellfire, yet I still do uber runs for fun.
Paragon? you mean a system that added extra "exp" bars and levels just so they could get rid of MF in the long run? if thats the case then why is it that we still have MF in the game?. Leveling in an RPG? Oh, my. Yes, they can get rid of MF. But you can still use MF until you reach paragon 100. Half of D3 farming for paragon? Paragon is one mere aspect of the game. I personally deliberately farmed for paragon when I felt like it. Other times paragon EXP was just a bonus to what I focused on, which was farming for loot or socializing with friends in-game. And efficiency is yet just another aspect of the game; a strategy if you will. Do you forget that some people actually try to play this game for fun? Yes, Act III is by far the most "efficient," but are you not allowed to farm anywhere else? No one said, "No, you are not allowed to farm Act IV because it's a stupid act."
I could keep going and going and going. but i'll stop there.
Please do, and at least you admitted that your entire rant is just a flaming mass of QQ.
And if you can't open your eyes to see how far this game has evolved since May 2012, I can't help you there. You can be miserable if that's what you want. Meanwhile, I, along with many others, will enjoy the game for what it is right now and just look forward to any additional improvements they can tack on.
Pvp? are you serious? they spent that whole time trying to figure something out when at the end of it all they just let you duel anyways.
Some form of PvP would be better than nothing. See my original post where I mention people will flip a shit if no PvP came out at all.

I work 50 hours a week while going to school part time, it doesnt take away from the game. The reason i said that to begin with is because whethere or not you put in 20 hours a week or just 5, you could be lucky enough to get a drop. This game is about loot and the randomness of it but it is WAY too random. It's not about me not enjoying the game, it's about quality of product expected from quality companies. Blizzard has become such a name in the gaming industry but it's starting to turn it's quality of games into cash cows. Everyone knows and understands the idea behind the AH and the RMAH which has no place in an action rpg such as diablo 3. It ruins items, it ruins the value and the purpose of the game. I'm not here to argue about whether or not blizzard has come a long way in making this game mediocre in my opinion. I'm here to state the fact that blizzard is doing so much less than they can actually do. Theyre so concerned about building this game and making it "a whole different game that previous diablos" that they are willing to take risks and make unnecessary changes to a franchise that which till this day is widely played throughout the world. The fans and customers have spoken, they have spoken before release, during beta, after release and even now but blizzard just won't listen. They're going to stick to what makes them money, once they realize they start losing customer base they give the fans a little bit of what they want to keep them hanging on and then it's back to business. To blizzard it's not about making the game the most enjoyable to the fans/customers, it's about making money which to me is absolutely ridiculous.

I'm sure all the improvements they've made so far haven't been directed to player concerns. I'm sure the newest blue post by one of the devs regarding itemization and the AH has nothing to do with what players are concerned about and was pulled straight out of his ass.

In the wise words of Bashiok:
aren't you thankful?
