White knight mode activated much? its my personal feelings and nothing you said changes my mind, if you think its an ego problem, then maybe it is, i dont really care lol. The way i see it, if you buy an item off the RMAH, you didnt earn it. you could make the argument that the money they spent, they probably earned, and by extension they earned the item, but its too disconnected IMO, whats in the game is in the game, bringing real money into it gives people advantages that they normally wouldnt have. Ding you hit 60, you pay 30 bucks, have full gear. that is just shit IMO lol. I frequent this site a lot, i have read pretty much every blue post worth linking since D3 was announced, i have an (i would say) intimate understanding of the philosophies behind D3's development. I get that if the RMAH didnt exist, third party sites would crop up just like D2jsp and it would happen like in D2, which i don't want. i do understand that its pretty much required that Blizz added the RMAH to counter this. What i am saying is that IN. MY. OPINION. the people who are going to use the RMAH (buying or selling, but im talking about buying atm) aren't earning those items. The same way it was shit that people bought off D2jsp, its shit that they are going to buy off this. Its a pointless argument in that nothing can stop the greed and impatience of people, they will find a way to cheat items. I am all for trading items for other items, or gold, because its artbitrary, you can go farm items and gold. not everyone has RL money to spend on digital items.
Somebody read that ?
Except you farm money IRL. It's called a job. It's just as monotonous as continually slaying monsters over and over.
How is it cheating? The items aren't in circulation until they're found. A person has an option to
I) Keep the item
II) Give it to a friend
III) Sell it for gold
IV) Sell it for money
V) Destroy it
None of those are in any way cheating. Cheating is acting dishonorably or doing something unfair to give you an advantage.
Everybody has access to real money. If you can't afford it - don't bitch at others. It's not our fault you landed the job you're in, knocked up a woman and had 4 kids sucking child support from you, etc. It's asinine logic.
I think the game got out of control with all the runewords (pvp wise) since that's all I did.. But i guess it doesn't matter now since there isn't anymore hostility..

im 20, and i have a job, i could pay for it. that's got nothing to do with my opinion on the RMAH lol. Also i never personally attacked anyone, i was arguing my opinion without going all ad hominem, which everyone has done to me. I hear what you are saying about item circulation and how the item has to go somewhere, like i said earlier, im all for trading, i just think real money shouldnt be brought into it. it gives an unfair advantage to the person who buys it. unfair because another person (not saying its me...) might not be able to afford to buy any good items, and a rich guy can. In my mind, buying it for money is cheating. i know some people agree with me, i dont care if there arent, and i dont care that people disagree with my opinion either, im posting this to produce discussion on D3 and provide the forums with another opinion. im not mad at anyone for anything they have said at me either, just saying. I like that conversation can get so heated over such a trivial topic, says a lot for Diablo lol

I won't miss aimbot, bugged absorb/resist/duped gear even on closed, the terrible trade chat/system, corpse exploding(though it never happened to me), and most of all having to play through the entire game with a fresh character to make even the most minor changes to attributes/skill point selection.
What I don't miss:
Lag from too many spawns
These elite ghost mobs in Act 5 near Baal in hell that had immune to specific resistances, were invisible, moved fast and could 1-2 shot me
Ridiculous amount of scams and hacks
The inability to remove stats after you placed them - (misclick = reroll toon)
What I'll miss is:
Cows
Act 1 PvP
Ginormous summoning armies
Faster Cast Rate, Faster Hit Recovery
Enigma/Sorc constant teleport

I disagree with you. The above poster had a great point. In order for it to make it to the AH, someone has to find it and not want it. Some people have more money than they have time, which is actually me in most cases. Not to say I'm going to buy items on the RMAH, but if I do, how does it effect you? Blizzard is letting people play the game how they want to, and offering services that people used regardless, in a more secure fashion. You are indeed entitled to your opinion, but it doesn't necessarily give anyone an advantage over you. Skill will still play a role into the game, and if you have more time than you do money, or just refuse to use the RMAH, then you will either have better items just because of time spent, or you can just keep your pride.
I know there were numerous ti mes when I was in Iraq and got a chance to play WoW (Only game that was playable with my wife @ 2000 ping), that I bought gold because I had more money than time, which allowed me to buy things, or play in a way that I wanted to, because of my time constraints. While having an opinion, you should also understand other peoples opinions and have an open mind, not everyone is the same as you.
edit. Also one more thing. To think that it's going to be super cheap to deck out a champion is a bit silly tbh. Think about how rare items are supposed to be, especially without duping. Now think about how much these rare items will go for. Generally the market for items starts out high, and as it becomes more accessible, and or the demand raises, the prices go up, and vice versa. Good items, if they appear on the RMAH will probably be affordable in the sense of spending 100$ or whatever makes sense at the time to gear out your champion, however the super rare legendary items and set items etc, do you think ppl are going to be posting these for super cheap, if at all?

and last, and mostly, only a few ways to spec your champion, otherwise you're completely worthless and have to reroll.
Scrubs running to town in duels or healing
...Yea that is about it haha. Only issue I ever had with Diablo 2 was when people talked smack and wouldn't have balls to duel. Now at least if they ever make it into the arena (Which is doubtful) they can't run away...shame though..now there are way more avenues for them to run their mouth and be protected (THANKS BLIZZARD!!)
The guy has a lot of time, when people in general don't, so he asks for a system that rewards gear through time spent so he will be able to claim himself better than others simply by having a lot of free time.
A system that allows to buy from people who have time (or insane luck) will put him back to a random unknown guy state, which he doesn't like much.
TL/DR : he asks for a system that allows him to shine thanks to the only thing he has over others : free time
i shouldnt dignify this with a response, but i have been sucked in to it. You don't know me, you can't presume shit about me. I wouldn't play any more than any other diablo fan, i can't beleive you are even making that argument, what a dickhead. You completely ignore my points and go straight to insulting me in a condescending way. these forums are for presenting opinions, if all you have to say is opinion bashing, then you are cancer, and should go jump off a bridge. thanks.

seems like he hit a button. just saying.
but anyway, the thread title is "what will you not miss about diablo" not "lets debate the RMAH" and for the record, if you really hate the rmah that much, go play HC.
what i won't miss:
* never ever getting a useful item off a drop a single damn time, having to get them all through hacked items/dupes/trades
* corpse explosions
* tetris inventory
* terrible looking UI
* old ass internet that i played that game on
* Iron Maiden for SURE, fuck this shit, killed every HC character that i ever invested time in
* sentences from other players like "pkpk okok~~?"
* infinite accounts from one cd key
and countless more. the one thing i will miss is the d2 style chat lobbies. just for the Clan XXXX support, and my MannerBot in that channel. that shit was awesome, with the !hello commands. so awesome. even games like HoN has support for this (and guess what, the channels are never spammed while there are always ~50,000 people online.
^ oh yeah. I lost several items to game/server crashes and had to trust my "friends" to not pick up a huge jackpot of items when I needed to swap gear. That was horrible. I even joined specific types of games and tried hiding items in corners next to various waypoints when my buddies weren't online and hoped I was quick enough to get back in, that the game wouldn't fill up, or bug out for my account (not allow me to join).
That was awfulllll.

By today's standards, or 2000's? Things that were standard then are archaic today, and what not
Some then, some now. Some of the features were archaic for even 2000's. Of course - you don't change what isn't broken! Or is it?
