"The Diablo III preview that appeared in the PC Gamer print magazine back in early November, has now been posted online. The text and content is the same, but the images, which were squinty small and none-too-clear in the scanned version that popped up online, are presented in full size and quality, and they are delicious.
You can see the PCG preview here, which is definitely worth a read, and it’s studded with the three new shots, plus a selection of others from the Beta. I’ve added the new ones to our gallery; click the thumbs to savor the Bastion’s Keep action, with new monsters (Is the demonic invasion from Hell all just giant, armored Fallen?) and some very nice spell visuals. Thanks to Erik for the tip."
This is going to degrade into an argument. I CAN SEE IT ALREADY.
I am abandoning this thread, but I ask you to view the images in their on-page size here: http://diablo.incgamers.com/blog/comments/first-act-three-screenshots-revealed and consider them from that distance. Because with the low-resolution and stretching and color shifting, they were meant to be viewed in miniature on a magazine page.
That's the very START of act 3, when you are exploring the arreat (?) crater. Also, there's no telling the res of the pic / monitor the person was using / game settings. The beta is so effin beautiful, i've spent half my time zoomed in, watching the environment move, and noticing things like the water puddles in act 1 reflect the moon and clouds. I realize you guys are hungry for the game, but that doesn't mean you need to rip apart anything you see.
The screens really don't look THAT bad. It just appears as if some of the graphical details have been turned off, that's all. We already know from the beta that the graphics are brilliant, so clearly these are from a build not running at full capacity.
Come on guys, we shouldn't be here moaning about graphics, we should be excited about the little details we're receiving of act 3.
I can't wait to run in/around/on top of the walls and towers of Bastion Keep. I hope they randomize the hell out of the place.
why are these posted right at the main page without spoiler warnings? -.-
I think its because its not a real spoiler, pictures in PC Gamer and pictures public. This is not datamined or even "leaked". Its from Blizzard, so there is no spoiler.
I wrote spoiler so people that did not wanna see it had the opportunity (second chance) for not checking this thread out.
I have never been worried about the art direction until I saw these new screenshots. The monster textures are faux shiny and all of the edges on the environments are rounded and soft. It really looks like someone dropped a demon hunter in torchlight -_-. I have faith in blizzard, so fingers crossed that all of the graphical settings are turned down or this is an earlier build before everything was polished.

If you would have read the earlier posts someone said that it was cropped from a magazine picture and blown up.

I did read the other post and understand it is out of PC gamer. If you look at the level of detail in the player character models they look on par with what we are seeing in the beta but the surrounding area and monsters are not. If it is an issue of blowing up the picture everything would have had the same level of distortion. You really shouldn't assume things because when you do you make an "ass" out of "u" and "me" :-D.

The amount of complaining of "hurr looks bad, durr horrible product" is annoyingly high in this thread. And as per your "ass out of u and me" quote, maybe you should make reference to it when you think about how bad the quality will be in the final product.

So much anger. Usually I am the one saying just have faith to those preaching gloom and doom. I am in beta and can attest to the fact that the game looks and plays amazingly. I just think there are things that don't seem up to snuff in the screenshots that were posted. Blizzard doesn't let anybody take pictures of screens at blizzcon because the crappy image quality will be miss construed as the actual product lacking in quality. These shots were released to pc gamer by blizzard so they made the choice to make these images public. Now don't go all "jaded nerd ragey" on my again because so far it seems like you are just looking for a fight but these images are not a good representation of blizzards product. All i am saying is "I have faith in blizzard, so fingers crossed that all of the graphical settings are turned down or this is an earlier build before everything was polished."

Low quality images bro.
Still, looks bad.

Blowing them up results in disaster. Bye!
early in the game? It's act 3
And yes, the screenshots look awful.
