I was hoping for a newer version and better graphics to DII/LOD but I just don't think that DIII is it.
It looks like to me that they went out of their way to NOT make the chrs like DII.
I hope I am wrong but the only thing I see that resembles DII is just how dark they can make the game.
That was the only thing I hated about DII and the only thing they kept.
I hope I am wrong and I will be buying it but it just looks like a new game with the Diablo name on it.
maybe they should call it wowablo.

Are you seriously saying that you just want to play D2 again with better graphics? I don't even know how to respond to that...

DII>DIII already because the new auction house is rubbish. youll have more gold farmers and dupers than ever unless they compensate with crappy game mechanics like soul binding and crap like that.
ill look forward to buying all the top end gears and then pwning your ass in pvp.
edit: lemme take a few steps back before ppl get the wrong idea. in terms of release, d2 sounded much better than d3 so far. also, if u thought spam and bots were bad in d2, enjoy servers filled with bots. and before you say that 'they cant get bots and hacks in d3!!' they can and will; whether bots or sweatshop gold farmers.

Bots, hacks, and sweatshop farmers in D3 will surely be at a minimum, and thus their impact on the d3 global economy will be at a minimum. You always will have people trying to exploit the system no matter how it's structured so this is nothing new.
As for you just going and buying all the greatest weapons in D3, just know that this might cost you a pretty penny. But, if money isn't a problem for you, I do know that just going in and buying something without doing anything to earn it will inherently devalue it, utterly leaving you feeling unfulfilled after only a few minutes playing with your new toy. And if this hasn't been the case for you so far, it now will be because I have just planted the thought into your head. Just know, it's not the end result that matters, but the journey thereto.
because those gold/item farmers are at a minimum on diablo and wow atm. /sarcasm.
i dont play for pvm so having the best eq (probably not possible because there will be some sort of crafting/binding that determines best eq :)) for pvp, i coulnt care less where it comes from. as long as u keep dropping coins/ears/whateverd3willhaveudrop ill be more than happy.

Wow. He never even said that. That was a low blow, and you definitely just put words in his mouth.
But let's look at what's inherently wrong with your terminology. A farmer is anyone that grinds bosses and areas for drops. Guess what? That's what the entire Diablo franchise is built on. There's nothing wrong with farming.
If you meant spam bots advertising item-selling sites and farming bots...
It's been said by Blizzard representatives that they aren't even concerned with Diablo II anymore, calling it a lost cause due to its horrid infrastructure and outdated programming. Plus, they're working on Diablo III. Who the fuck cares about a ten year old game that makes hardly any profit?
Besides all that, much greater care has been and is being taken with WoW by GM's and others to keep bots out of the game and ban those that pop up. I didn't play WoW for very long--just over a year--but I'd been to every city and dungeon and completed a great deal of the content and guess what? There's barely any spam bots in that game. Those that are there are instantly reported and gone within minutes.
Furthermore, it's not even like Blizzard is selling the items. We are. If anything, this is a step towards a more realistic trade system that would have been prevalent in the late sixteenth century.
lol no skill? i only pvp so im sure it will develop sooner than later.
no one seems to realise that the only reason blizzard is doing this is to make an extra buck from u guys by trying to outcompete 3rd party sites that will sell gold/items. w/e keep buying into to what blizzard wants u to think.
that said, im not mad, im actually looking forward to the game. im just sticking up for u little people who cant afford to buy items and need to grind them out. after all, its u lot that will cry about being overmatched.

yeah we should stop talking about this because the game isnt even out yet. im sure blizzard will find a good balance, they always do, until the community starts to meta, then the patches come out...and we'll see. (enigma anyone? jkjk)
so theres a matchmaker in the arena? thats kinda lame. oh well...power to the people!!
i will still be kicking arse in pvp. and with my ah bought items i will rule the realm

Would you enjoy fighting people way lower and way higher than you? So you either just mop the floor with them or don't stand a chance? Competing on an equal level isn't your thing?
how are u supposed to get better if u keep stomping noobs at low lvl. u dont get better by playing with ppl at the same lvl all the time. u play better ppl. and yes. i do enjoy bm sometimes.
I disagree with the OP and i think that this game is revolutionary.
I love you, I thank god i am not the only one who thinks this game is revolutionary to the RPG Genre.
Also I don't understand why you guys are so on a bout the Real world AH it isn't a bad thing it provides people to buy their shit, I will earn it, or pay my GOLD for it in the GOLD AH i don't have to, nor am I forced to use the RMAH.

I agree with Jamoose. DIII has systems in it that I've never seen being done in any other game before, and I think that it's pretty amazing. Sure it's different, but why would anyone ever want to play DII 2.0? That's just downright silly.
I was one of the few privileged to play the D3 Blizzcon 2010 demo, and you can rest assured my friend, the game feels like Diablo, it plays pretty much like D2 with cautious progression and tons of monster bashing.
I'm not going to jump on the "flame wagon", I just wanted to give you my personal opinion on the subject that the "feeling" of the game, despite all the changes, is still being a Diablo spiritual successor.

For one thing, the dark aspect of the Diablo series is IMO one of the defining features of the series. I don't just mean dark as in 'absence of light', but also dark in mood, dark in character. The Diablo series has always had a good atmosphere and a dark side to it that I've never felt playing WoW.
I agree, I always thought the actual feel of diablo 1 was better than diablo 2 even if diablo 2 was more fun due to being faster paced/more skills/more items/better pvp. The look of diablo 1 with better graphics would be better as well in my opinion. After 18 years, I can still picture almost all of diablo 1.
As for the complaints about auction house and buying pvp power. That still existed on d2 unofficially and didn't make that big of a difference. If you want REAL pvp, play hardcore, it's where I've been since the start and will continue into on d3 and I'll guarantee you have a ton more fun PvP on hardcore. That is of course, if you have talent.

Actually farmers in WoW usually don't kill bosses. There is a chance that many of them won't in Diablo III due to the gold they earn at a faster rate from quickly farming easier mobs being able to purchase gear from the gold AH to sell on the RMAH. I would say there is a huge difference between the person who does this and myself. Not that it really matters I guess, unless you feel sorry for the guy for whatever reason. I'm sure there are worse sweatshops in China than gold farming ones.
Secondly, you are completely full of shit about the spam in WoW. You can't pretend that at various intervals of your time playing there you didn't see floating corpses spelling out a website name.
Lastly, BEFORE YOU ALL FLAME ME. I am not against the RMAH. I will participate in it even. I have just seen a lot of inconsistent thoughts in support of both sides and it can only be due to practically none of you being able to take an objective view point on it. You have all made up your minds and seem to be persistently bashing your heads against each other. Pretending like a RMAH is the end all response to third party sell sites, hacking, duping, etc. is just being stupid. Pretending like a RMAH is pure corruption on Blizzard's part and doesn't seem like a reasonable step in a new direction is just being stubborn. You guys should really work on meeting in the middle somewhere with a litte common sense and less ego.
Diablo 3 isn't WoWablo, it's true, but I have to say, I think the D3 version of "dark", has, so far seemed somehow more juvenile and silly than that in D2. Maybe that's because I've not heard the sound FX, of course. D2 had a lot of it's darkness in it's really distinctive and alarming sound FX - the monsters made some genuinely scary noises. Plus, the Demon Hunter is apparently supposed to be some sort of "Dark Hero", when she actually seemed like a posing '90s-comic-book-style idiot in her trailer, so that worries me a little.
We'll see as more information comes out, but D2 was a genuinely creepy game, even after you'd played it for years (particularly as it was so damn easy to die if you messed up). I hope D3 is.
As for all these people saying things like "I'm sure you will all love it!", well, I've heard that before about so many games that turned out to only be "decent" that you'll forgive me if I disregard it. If I had a penny for every person who told me Civ III was going to be a totally worthy and awesome successor to Civ II, well, I'd have a few pounds at least. In actuality it's now forgotten and ignored.
