So here we are, potentially a mere 30 days away from the start of the Diablo III beta. One of the things I'm a little curious about is what we still need to hear about before they start. They've already said they plan on revealing all the mechanics/systems before the beta starts, but I'm not sure what's left to be revealed. I know that any answers to this question, other than from a Blizzard employee (And that would probably be vague at best ;)), would likely be pure conjecture, but I'm still curious. We have heard about:
And a few others. The only things I can tangibly name as lacking that list (And some of these might not be big enough to warrant an outright announcement anyway) are:
-Magic Find
-Charms, since they have revealed that the talisman, at least for release purpoes, doesn't exist any longer. That leaves the lingering question of whether or not we'll see charms at all.
-Quests; they've revealed quite a bit about these, but nothing really set in stone, more just scattered quotes, etc.
-End game content. However, since they've already stated that they don't want to reveal much more than they already have about the 3rd and 4th acts, it seems to me that they'd have a hard time revealing their plans for end game content without breaching that statement of intent.
We have our charm announcement. They announced it was out. Trade is on the list and resources too. Magic find is in more of a maybe seeing as how they've talked about it. It's an iffy system or not a system kinda thing. and lets not forget there Korean game convention (I forget the name) had a game play video with kill streaks. This seems to qualify as a system in my book. And finaly I have to say that I don't see end game getting an announcement to the extent of this is what your getting so much as this is how it's going to go. (sorry if that was cryptic) I had an odd though on system talk though. What about a loot system announcement? Now bare with me. We know we get out own drops but, what about things that effect the drops other than magic find? I realize this seems odd. But, I was hoping for some thing more than more bosses have the decent loot tables. Yes, they said every mob has a chance to drop anything. (obvious restriction excluded) Something to cut down on the Classic Bail/or other boss (nub moment on name lol) runs for drops. Also is quests on the list it seems to me we already know what there is to know about them.
As for my "Thoughts, feelings, comments?"
I think I think too much about not much. And don't call scyber a cool cat, he's clearly a cool dog.
I feel anxious. (WHERE MY D3 RAWR!!!)
And my comment is; is all this talking about diablo3 really helping the wait or just making it worse....
-Skills An old set of skills, with no icons or up-to-date data about them.
-Traits An old set of traits, with some already known to be removed, and no up-to-date data
-Inventory Is this really a system?
-Monster types Like 10. Out of hundreds. No life/resistance/skill data. No modifier data.
-Items types See above.
-Runes We know 5 exist. We have a vague idea of quality, and by no means have any idea of how they work on the majority of skills.
-Followers Yep.
So you're right, we have only heard about them.
What do we have left?
-Magic Find Yep.
-Charms, since they have revealed that the talisman, at least for release purpoes, doesn't exist any longer. Exactly. They don't exist. All they do is clutter the gameplay with bonuses that could be added to gear. We might see them in an expansion in a refined form.
-Quests That's the storyline of the game; they aren't going to tell you anything specific about that. They might add notes about side quests, but there's really nothing more to say.
-End game content. They're going to very careful on this. Don't expect anything other than vague comments like "high level dungeons" or even, on a hopeful note, "periodic seasonal/monthly updates as end-game side quests"

The final test of the Serpent's Form takes place in "The Pit of 12 Vipers." The initiates are not told about the 13th.
I really hope charms are not in, at least in their old "take up inventory space" form. Similarly, I hope MF is not in, but I think we saw a few modifiers...
Not sure if there's much to say about the trade system. There's probably going to be a *cringes* auction house *cringes*, and private trading between players. What else is there? The only thing I'm concerned about is soulbinding, I don't know if that's in or not.
I kinda wonder what they're going to do about market oversaturation considering lack of item destruction/decay. Did they just use ladder resets against these or something?
I'm interested in the differences between Normal-Nightmare-Hell-post-Hell, not sure if that'd qualify as a system though.
Skill & traits: we know they are working on these, still they announced them, so I guess this will be something we may know more about through beta.
Monster types: well, I hope they will not tell us about every monster is in the game or we will never lay our hands on it. Some more info about monsters mechanics perhaps, still I'd like to make acquaintance with them while playing
Items & runes: we know a bit and the rest we will learn playing.
Followers: ok
Artisans: ok
Quest: you move around, meet people, get quests. ok
End game: you'll know when you end it. ok
Charms/talisman: should be out. ok
Magic find: it's more like a feature than a system, and something some of us will like to learn through the game.
Gems: we know a little about these too. (edit)
Unknown systems:
Trade: this should be a major feature in the game.
Resource System: we know very little about this too.
that's all comes to mind right now. any other suggestions?
They told they will announce all the systems before releasing the beta, still they didn't say they will explain in details how they will work.

Monster TYPES. And yes they have talked about that, go to Diablo3.com and look at the "encounters" system. I doubt we will get a lot more detailed information about specific types until beta has hit.
Of course inventory is a system...
And no, quests are not specifically storyline related. They've already stated that there will be random quests that pop up as you go from NPC's that are sometimes there and sometimes not. There's a lot left to be said about this that they can actually discuss without ruining any kind of plot points.
I did forget about trade, that's probably one of the others left to be revealed before beta. And I dearly hope an AH system is thrown in to avoid "Bring Scrip 4 HR" games cluttering up the damn game list.
I noticed in a few vids when you knock back monsters sort of stumble, fall on their ass
can you knock a monster down and coup de gras? dealing more damage?
Can knock back send a monster flying into another monster damaging him?
if you knock back an enemy into a wall does he take more damage?
How difficulties change things,,,,,,,,, or does that fall under monster types?
Thats a good point.
Difficulty should definetly be a systen, along with trade.
And imo Magic Find deserve it's own place. It's being stated that MF will not belong to items alone... I think a whole unique and new mf systen will take place.

"In time the hissing of her sanity
Faded out her voice and soiled her name
And like marked pages in a diary
Everything seemed clean that is unstained
The incoherent talk of ordinary days
Why would we really need to live?
Decide what is clear and what's within a haze
What you should take and what to give" - Opeth

Thoughts, feelings, comments?
We know nothing about it, whether there will be an Auction House or not, or really anything on it at all.
I'm still very curious as to how they plan to set up a trading system that won't fall through.
Magic find is just one of many affixes in the game, not enough to warrant a system reveal
I feel charms are out for now. I do not think it was the talisman that was the problem, it was the charms.
Quests are a possibility
End game, I feel, will not be shown until after the game is out. I don't even think it will be in beta.
Find any Diablo news? Contact me or anyone else on the News team
I thought charms, apart from the talisman, would be in the expansion. Or was that jewels or something else I'm thinking of?
Find any Diablo news? Contact me or anyone else on the News team
Right, thanks.

This would be amazing. Probably the last thing to be revealed though. Going to drive myself crazy making builds for each class.
