Could some of you guys post your profiles? It would really help me, and I'm certain lots others, if I could see how you gear up for your skill build. To the point: what decided you on 2H vs 1 and Off?
I guess you can use mine as a long-term goal. Bear in mind that I've played consistently since launch.
Also can look through the Wizard Gear Guide written by Jaetch. Can see that great time and effort was spent developing its contents.
I personally have a very unusual build, centered around survivability and maneuverability for future PVP. Basically have kiting skills with gear preventing the need to kite. Probably 1 of 2 wizards out there without any critical hit chance or damage - have low DPS in comparison to well-geared wizards, as all my DPS derived from offensive stats with defensive synergies.
2h vs 1h depends a little on spec, but is mostly a personally preference and gear levels. If you want to use a CM melee based build with frost nova, DS, and EB, you should use a 1h+OH. Some greatly prefer 1h for the faster attack animation, even when kiting, while others prefer the higher damage per cast of the 2h plus the higher life steal. You can get similar dps with either set up at low to med-high gear levels, though at the very top it is hard to beat a 1h+OH for pure dps.I personally prefer a 2h if you don't lose dps from using one, but those Triumverates really add a lot of dps if you find a good 1h with all physical damage. Around my gear level (med-high, i'd say), 1h+OH will likely give more dps for the same cost as 2h, though at lower gear levels they're probably fairly competetive for DPS vs cost.
My profile is in my sig, though I'm trying a new gearing strat about maximizing my damage resistance and gearing my EHP around Force Armor.
Quite frankly if you really want to see the gearing you should just go to 1 of the 2 tools:
http://www.diabloprogress.com/ - you can check the ranking, in terms of DPS, EHP, etc whatever you like, even higher paragon levels, etc, all the links to their armory as well as gear is on that website
http://d3up.com - you can use this tool to do all the math for you, as much as spreadsheets are very useful - this is by far easier to use - it loads your profile and you do not have to enter any data manually, moreover there's a little tool that grabs item links from ingame and you can add those items to your profile for comparison, once again without having to manually type in all the item stats, this also has 'ranking' of DPS and gearing
At the moment, however, the belief most of the players share - do not buy anything expensive now, the prices are bound to drop a fair bit in a week or two after the coming 1.0.5 patch, this is a major concern for a lot of very well geared players, to the extent they sold all their set and really expensive gear in the last 2 weeks, bought some average gear to simply stockpile the gold for the coming patch and do shopping after that for a fraction of the current cost of the high end items.

I only believe the part about items that currently max out at ilvl 62 and below (i.e. jewelry). I'm a little more confident with ilvl 63 Legendaries/sets with unique predetermined stats (say, attack speed on The Witching Hour/Tal Rasha's chest) staying around market value. That said, I only sold off one of my amulets and rings (and one more refuses to sell), but will keep the rest of my main gear. I was looking to get a high-end Triumvirate, but given that it's a ilvl 62 source, I'm hesitant.
Since I run a Windup/Shockonado Build where attack speed and critchance is a major factor, 1h+Off was a no brainer.

Feel free to check my sig.
As others stated, next patch will affect the economy. With double the drop rate of legendaries and higher stats on certain pieces, you should wait if betting on high end equipment.
Best of luck!

I don't really know, there's a few factors you have to consider really
1) double the chance of legendary / set items to drop
2) higher MF with MP scaling
3) some of the legendaries are getting 'fixed', for example chantodo's are supposed to roll 2 stats instead of current 1, so the current chantodo's MH are going to become completely worthless
etc
Personally, i'm pretty sure the prices are going to drop even for other legends, the way i see it - they all got overpriced in 1.0.4 because noone had the 'new awesome' legends and sets, leading to extremely high demand, now everyone has them. Surely those with BIS random rolls are going to be far more expensive than the rubbish rolls, but they aren't going to be in billions that i can tell you for sure, especially in a couple of months - the simple supply and demand laws dictate that multiplying the supply by 2+ (incorporating the higher MF from MP) is undoubtedly going to lead to a drop in prices, that is not a question - the question is the amount of time it will take, whether it will be 1 week from the patch or will it be 6 months, there will definitely be a spike in prices right after the patch - everyone that sold off all their gear now are going to buy it back, hence increased demand, however once that demand is fulfilled - the prices are going on a steep drop due to a simple surplus until the prices reach the levels where the demand will meet the supply.
Right now - the surplus is stupid - you can see items like the witching hour with 9 AIS + 45 CD + 100 INT + 70 VIT + 10% Life is on AH for about 100m, i've been looking at that sitting there for the whole 1d12h duration and expiring with the min bidder winning it for 50m.

Is there a blue post or other information about the set wand or other legendaries only rolling 1 property being a bug? It's not mentioned on the patch notes. Is it possible it's just an error in the information online and it's actually working as intended in game?

I remember seeing mixed responses with "inaccurate" legendary stats. The most dominating one is the Mempo of Twilight being unable to roll its max stats. I haven't heard anything about Chantodo's Will and the "+2 random magic properties." I'm unsure if it's the website misleading people or Chantodo's is really bugged.
I agree the surplus is really out of control, but we don't exactly know what the base drop rate for legendaries/sets are to begin with. That's not to say—enter tinfoil hat—that even with 0.0001% being doubled to 0.0002%, the majority of the legendaries you get will roll the lower end of the stats for their random properties—exit tinfoil hat.
It'll be fun to see, though. I'm sure as hell not going shopping for a while unless I really can't loot my own GG 1.05 jewelry.
I guess you can use mine as a long-term goal. Bear in mind that I've played consistently since launch.
Looking at your all's characters makes me want to cry for two reasons.
1)The sheer awesomeness of how it must feel to have damage like that and
2)The daunting process I would have to undergo to even slightly scratch the surface of a single piece of said gear.

Doesn't really matter what number you multiply by 2 - it's still going to be twice as many. I think blizzard's overall concern is the price of items at the moment - selling a 250 USD item on RMAH vs selling 100 items for 25 USD each, i do believe they intend for the second, which would make a lot of sense to any player as well - after all, if you think back about D2, about a year after the LoD launch you could fully gear in BIS for about 70 USD and that's a much more reasonable goal as compared to a few thousand USD, the price in USD dictates the price of gold, and that in turn dictates the prices on the gold AH.
So realistically speaking, being able to buy a reasonably top end item for a couple of mil is a very very good scenario, while the real BIS rolls are still going to be very expensive, but the whole gap between absolute garbage and the super top end is going to be reduced dramatically.
