finishing sets is definitely a good sign of progress according to this quote.
Official Blizzard Quote:
The game’s itemization is done fairly late in development. The itemization in general is done fairly late in development. So at that point we’ll be building unique items.

That is great news. This prompts a beta release and If not you bet your sweet ass a release date. Itemization is done late and they're finishing the item sets... That just screams were ready to show you the final preview to this game and get it in your hand by next june.

i dont think they're too close to being done, though. they're making the models of the items but there's nothing about stats. the sets we see aren't "sets" as in the green quality items, but items that match if worn all together (can't find a way to say it better). either way it's going very well and we're really getting closer.

I understand that but still to have them making what you character will look like when worn properly makes me think they are fairly along with this process by now because in order to make this they'd have to finish all the items that when matched look like this...

I believe they said the last thing that they were going to be working on was items if I am not mistaken.
Oh very nice. See, that was a win-win for me. Either I'm right, which was not the case, or I'm wrong, and the game is closer to completion than I thought, which is the case haha. The only problem I could see with this is that "itemization" says to me more actual stats on the armor/weapons, as opposed to models and textures. So if they're only done with the actual looks, and not the stats, then it could be farther from completion than that makes it seem. I doubt that kind of stuff takes all that long compared to other stuff though, but of course I'm not a game designer.
And they probably are done with the Monk stuff, or at least enough for Blizzcon, as these are the armor sets the characters will wear in the demo, so the Monk has to have something, so it is odd they wouldn't show anything for the Monk, unless they're just using placeholders or the same armor as last demo or something.
Maybe they didn't show the monk armours because they didn't think of showing off the sets until 3ish weeks before blizzcon (and really liked the two per week schedule) or wanted to throw the first three announced classes a bone (/rekindle excitement).
I have a question that I don't feel like looking up the answer to: does each class-gender combination share the same face? In other words: will we be able to customize our characters' faces?

Wizards and Barbs look awesome! I'm really happy with their work.
The witchdoctors though.. look like shit . Really.. I am disappoint. I was proudly showing the pics to my bro earlier today and I just skipped over the WDs... that's how bad I think they are.

This body holding me, reminds me of my own mortality.
Embrace this moment. Remember... We are eternal, all this pain is an illusion.
Anyway, I like how each character really has their own style. The styles really suit them as well. When I'm playing a wizard I'll love the floamboyant style. If I'm playing a barbarian, I really want to look rough and wild. With the Witch Doctor you've got the spooky tribal vibe.
All in all, I really love the work they put into making each character look and feel unique.
I really like the helm on him and while I'm still not crazy on the claws/bracers they do look a little better on him than they did on her.

Nice compilation! I think they all look good enough for mid-level "sets". They all have a certain theme to distinguish the classes, which is good. I'm probably going wizard as my first character and I think their sets looks awesome!

Bash said that they were done with the Wizard armor in a recent post and that they weren't going back to it.
