Nice video. Very useful for people who'd rather listen then read.
Hearing the D1 soundtrack makes me want to play it so badly D:.

I do like crittercutter's option to go back. It's probably boring to kill simple dudes with a lvl 60 hero, but at least you get all the quest rewards. -
Apr 10, 2011Shatterer posted a message on Level Cap? Why?Posted in: NewsQuote from ScyberDragongreat point about scaling everything else up as well in harder difficulties. With each expansion and level cap, they have to make nightmare and hell that much hared to match this increase. If you go into nightmare a 30 the first time but then 35 in the expansion, then the monsters also have to match this increase.
I was wondering the exact same thing myself. But what about heroes that just breached nightmare before the expansion. Being lvl 30 in a lvl 35 area isn't quite a happy place to be, especially if each level is such a significant increase as they say it is. -
Apr 5, 2011Shatterer posted a message on How will set items work?Perhaps a fully levelled blacksmith has knowledge of those ancient artefacts? Say you've already got 3 of the 4 items it would aid the artisan in knowing what to create. Perhaps you need all the artisans to have a high enough level?Posted in: News
I'm not really endorsing this to be honest. I prefer the idea of finding it, though I really want to make it easier a set than in was in D2. -

Mar 30, 2011Shatterer posted a message on March MayhemYeah, really odd that Mojang is winning from Valve. I mean, Minecraft is cool and all but I never expected it to beat Valve. Probably having a new playable product helps in their favour. If only Valve had release Portal 2 one month earlier.Posted in: News
Oh, and too bad Blizzard is losing from Bioware. Ah well, they're in the top 4 at least. -

Mar 21, 2011Shatterer posted a message on Rune Swapping Restrictions PollPerhaps it could be a gold sink for higher lvl runes / higher lvl players? At that point you probably know how the runes work.Posted in: News
Do note that I prefer to stay out of any economy related issues since I suck at them. This is just an idea that I came up with. -
Mar 21, 2011Shatterer posted a message on Rune Swapping Restrictions PollI don't want there to be a penalty for trying out a different rune, so the cooldown option is out the window for me. They should encourage customization and experimentation since, to me, that's the essence of such a loot-based game. Now I would like to note that I don't want the freedom to change any time I want. If your current runes are not good enough for the encounter then you should deploy tactics to make it through.Posted in: News
Also, I've got two problems with using the mystic. First and foremost, what about the start of the game? This is where you want to pull people into the game, but when you don't have the mystic to swap out runes you might end up having a skill you don't like. I mean, a description is one thing but actual gameplay is something else. Of course you'll get her eventually, but it's the first impressions that matters. The second point is that the mystic involves a few more clicks before you get where you want to be. It's a small point, for sure, but one that goes a long way in making the game more streamlined. Less people and options you have to click = more time for action.
In the end I'm for the 'out of combat' option. Or the 'in town' option. Or the 'safe haven' option. Or whatever place they want to name it. From there you can venture forth with a rune loadout, but when you're engaged in a fight you have to work with what you've got. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

"Hey, there's this new reaction we've never seen before! Let's explain it with giving some particles Strangeness. This one has +1, this one has -1. See? Everything works now!"
And then it doesn't. And they hypothesize something new. And it works. And then it doesn't... It's funny when you think about it, but it gets a bit repetitive when you have about 5-7 of such revelations in 2 hours. I stopped paying real attention to what he said and just waited until he reached quarks, the current building blocks of matter.
Also, he ended the lecture with a quote which I'm pulling right out of context: "Physicists have never observed colour."

I don't recall exactly what was said, but I do know that they didn't deny the possibility for ladder/economy resets. They are indeed working on item/gold sinks to make the economy more balanced. If the economy ends up being broken after all they might have to resort to resets, even though they don't like it.

But, ehm, yeah. Sucks to be an unbaptised baby when Judgement Day comes around. Having lived a few days and already you're denounced because of Adam and Eve.

Wow, you accomplished a lot in barely an hour.
@Jack
I sort of figured since they're working on a game called 'Diablo 3' they're beyond redemption.

Let's hope Diablo comes out before that.

Heh, cool. Too bad that it's gravity is 1.5 times earth's.
On the other hand, you would get pretty strong there.

I forgot to mention that I don't like doing it. I dunno, makes me feel like one of those promoters you see on the streets at times, pestering you to join their cause even though you don't have any intention of doing so. I'm just not very comfortable with imposing myself on other people.

Edit:
I don't have a gaming rig either. I've got a laptop partially sponsored by my university (because it's simply vital to my studies) which is capable to play quite a few games. In fact it runs portal 2 on medium settings pretty good.
