I am going to have to say that I am pretty pissed at this point. I bought an item off the auction house for $250. It was an amulet that has 15% Attack speed increased and is a set item. (blackthorne medal). One of the main reasons this was worth so much was due to the attack speed benefit from the item. Now that the attack speed on the item that i just bought decresed from 15% to 7% (what blizzard says is a 50% reduction) I want 50% of my money back! This is a scam and a great way for blizzard to make money. Lets buff items (which makes them expensive) so people buy them (Blizzard make some money), and then next patch we'll just nerf them -- repeat. Blizzard, if you are going to come up with genious idea of real money auction house, those items need to keep their worth. I purchased an item that was worth $250, and just because of a patch, I get screwed. This is not right and something needs to be done. Maybe I didn't follow the patch preview closely enough, but the last time I saw an update it was still up for debate for how the attack speed increase bonus would be handled. If items are going to go to crap, just say so Blizzard!
Obviously you didn't pay attention (was announced over two weeks ago), but I think your just a troll... if you paid $250 for an item you straight up have too much money.
On another note, items never retain their value.... items are only worth what the purchaser is willing to pay.

Playing Diablo since 97. I know nothing and having nothing good to say, I be a troll.
Wow, it's almost as if buying an item for five times the cost of the game itself was a fucking terrible idea. You did not pay Blizzard. You gave some other player a little mini-windfall. Blizzard can't refund your money because they're not who you bought it from.

Yea, yea. Well some of us actually have real jobs and don't dedicate our lives to video games... So when I do play, I don't wanna waste time on the respawn screen. And I understand I didn't pay Blizzard for the item and they only got a % cut from it. The fact is items that are bought with real currency need to retain stat value. And to Mr. HoobaGoblin and Slayerviper - I did read forums bud. Never did I see a 50% nerf announced. I was expecting more of a cap/deminishing returns on % attack speed. Regardless if it was a $250 item or a 10$ item, item changes should have been performed WAY before any real money auctions were implimented.
Putting that aside, as you actually seem to have a lot higher income than 99,999% of the playerbase, you are now saying that after the RMAH is live, Blizzard can never ever tune the game anymore? If your item would have become more powerful, would you be willing to give the buyer more money as your item would be better? And if Blizzard would have nerfed those stats let's say after a year when you bought it, would it be satisfactory to you?
My point is that no one can say the exact good time for those tunings that Blizzard has to do to this game. There is allways someone that loses and someone who wins, this time it was you.
Blizzard can tune the game in many other ways than changing stats on current items. How about changing the effectiveness? or capping quantity? And you said what if the item became more powerful. When has Blizzard ever (so far) buffed anything that has significantly helped us out? Second of all, $250 is capped....

You're paying for virtual items with virtual stats, and they've been talking about the IAS nerf since before the RMAH opened. Deal with it.
QQ.

Wait a minute. Things bought with real currency need to retain a static, set value?
Ever heard of the stock market?
if not, its surprising you would complain after the nerf has been posted all over the place.
stop eating paint next time.
Otherwise i call BS. He is just a glass cannon nerd raging about the nerf, making up stories.
