I'm a DH and I am very much looking forward to trying out the patch. Sure, I won't be doing OP damage with Nether Tentacles and I'll have to buy a bow to get my attack speed back up (since I was only ever using two crappy IAS rings), but so what? DH's were way OP and now we might be a bit more in line.
And Siegebreaker hasn't been the best farming spot for us in a while. Try Cydaea/Azmodan runs.
Does look tough for DHs and anyone who built around IAS.
For those of us who are not and did not... looks great!
i am a DH and planned for the IAS nerf, however, the "bug fix" for NT is essentially a nerf.....and sharpshooter is still busted. and i still own a pair of broken ashearas locks.....
Um, 300 or so line of updates, most of which were positive, except for DH whining that 10K HP/100 RA builds are less OP, and another easy/low threat farm spot has been *fixed*.
From how I read it, every nerf or DPS buff or repair increase seems to specifically target glass cannon builds, and their ability to stack DPS stats and killing things off-screen with impunity. What I don't understand is why you didn't see it coming.
Even more hilarious - every thing in the game that still manages to kill you, you scream to have nerfed. This attention is well deserved.
Man, you just can't please some people. This shit is really fucking hilarious. To all the people crying about the AS nerf. You had plenty of warning in advance as they announced it several times and everyone knew it was coming. What you should have done is spent time figuring out how to up your dps without stacking AS in every single slot and be productive instead of whining once patch 1.0.3 comes out that you have a huge dps loss and wah wah wah now i can't kill anything. The changes made are all very good and there are many ways to up your dps significantly without stacking AS on everything.
As to nerfing the best farm spot in the game... lol? Every champion pack now drops a GUARANTEED rare...that means the entire act is now a good farming spot rather then 1 little section of an act. I myself prefer this greatly rather then getting 5 stacks and then going to the boss, rinse repeat. It really won't effect me at all since I generally run through and prefer fighting champ packs to farming bosses over and over so yeah.. and with the nerf to inferno farming acts 3 and 4 will probably become a joke and instead of being challenging in difficulty it will be more about increasing farming efficiency (AKA putting as much MF gear on while still being able to farm fast).
As to all the DH's crying about reflect damage, just get like 500 LoH and bam your fine.
I main a DH and I think all of the nerfs to DH are warranted. All this does is make the classes more balanced. DH is still stupid easy to play and they even nerfed the damage done by act2+ mobs. But like I said, we will know exactly how the game is after we've been playing the new patch for a while.
DH still have ball lightning rune which functions like former NT (even better I think as the radius is a bit bigger as far as I remember) except for the healing part. So what's the big deal with NT nerf?
Honestly, yes, this patch is pretty terrible. The game hasn't been super fun the last few days and this might just be the nail in the coffin for me. I can't believe they didn't fix the legendary/set items that have had broken IAS for forever.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
The question isn't why do I kill. The question is, why I don't kill everybody.

Except they did fix those... It's in the notes under Items > Bug Fixes:
Legendary items with the +Attack Speed bonus will now correctly provide a bonus to attack speed
Please note that this fix will only affect new Legendary drops. Existing Legendary items will be addressed in future patch.
But hey, good work on the reading.
OT: Overall this patch seems fine to me. Rebalancing Inferno in-line with their design goal, instead of the near-insurmountable brick wall that it was, is a good change (sorry to all the elisits who feel that it is their entitled playground that nobody else can come in to... we paid the same for the game, our luck with gear has just been worse).
-being a DH nether tentacles now only hits a target once?? they do this but dont fix the sharpshooter bug????
-they fix the IAS problem on new legendarys, but all those ashearas locks are still broken??
-the obvious IAS nerf
-shooting jars etc, dont give hardly anything anymore?? whats the point of having them in game?
-increased repairs
i dont know how the other class charges are, as i only play a DH.
-the only positives i see is the drop rates and the reduced costs for crafting...
-lowering the damage of the monsters in inferno is cancelled out by all the dps nerfs
anyone else feel this way??
For those of us who are not and did not... looks great!

I am happy that they are nerfing Nether Tentacles.
That rune was retarded the way it was. I can't believe you expected that shit to last. I knew that it was going to be nerfed weeks ago.

Less IAS per items means more IAS items per build and an increased market value.
...says it all. I play a monk, and I think this may be the best patch ever.

This patch is GREAT.
Better loot tables, direct hit to botters, harder bosses (with unique Inferno stuffs), cheaper BS/Gemcraft, and NERFED DAMAGE IN INFERNO.
All of these things are GREAT.
If your entire build is 100% reliant on IAS, your terribad.
