I really liked a lot of the suggestions in the info-graphic and some of them while subtle changes provide very great solutions to some of the issues people have with the game. I'll probably post something on the other suggestion thread by monstrosity but I think a lot of people want a way in game to compare themselves against other players and have a way to 'brag' about their exploits. I think by gaining either trail affects, body display changes, and so forth are great ideas to make that possible.
While a lot of your ideas are great, I don't see a majority of them happening at least not in the shipped version of RoS, perhaps maybe months down the road as we saw with all the improvements and changes that were made while D3 progressed. The tower is a great idea, and while they don't really need to make your actual concept, they can implement the idea in other dungeons that get harder as you progress and are essentially 'endless' until the challenges or unlocked levels are completed.
I'm almost certain they will implement a ladder system simply because it was hinted at, and while it apparently will be delayed, I'm confident they'll take this route as blizzard has a pretty good track record with ladder systems or an overall rating system as we've seen in SC2 and WoW.
Overall this was a nice post and I haven't been on the forums in awhile so its great to see such thought out ideas floating around.
Fuck yea man. Good job on these ideas. Challenge modes in World of Warcraft were one of the best things Blizzard added to Wow because they give you a challenge (not as much as they used to) and the rewards are distinctive gear and mounts.
This works perfectly with Reaper of Souls. I know someone from Blizzard is reading this but people need to spread this out so the popular streamers like Athene and Kripp can respond and spread the word out even more. I'm really curious as to what they would say about this since their opinions on Diablo 3 have resonated with many fans including myself. And of course, I'd love to hear what Josh and the other people at Blizzard think of this.
Unlike most suggestions to Reapers of Souls, this idea doesn't require a complete rework of the game. It's not rune leveling, it's not class redesign, it's not a new Act nor is it scrapping the entire game and redoing it. It's simply another option to choose and uses the characters we build and gear up in Campaign/Adventure. If we can't do a current trial, we just go back to Adventure mode, grind out more hours of paragon leveling, gearing and spec theorycrafting and go back at it. And now that many legendary items affect builds, this only makes regrinding for those items even better.
Most importantly, this is perfect patch content. We'll spend weeks and weeks grinding characters and making them strong enough to grind Torment VI (Obviously things in Beta are there for testing purposes) and then Blizzard can announce something like this for 2.0.1 or 2.0.2. And if this is successful, then more and more people will return to Diablo 3, dropping the $30 to $40 for the expansion.
This is an awesome idea, but (assuming they're not already working on something like it), it would cost millions and delay release by months.
It would take some time but it would definitely not cost millions to make. It's only a tower and some trials, re-using models, animations and environments that are already present in the game. Even the cosmetic rewards can be something that currently exists in-game (like that El'Druin one in the picture). Balancing the difficulty would probably take much much longer than designing all of this.

It wouldn't cost millions, maybe hundreds of thousands..but not millions. That would be a lot of development man hours which most of those mechanics probably already exist in the game in one form or another. As I said in my post, they could merely take the concept..and just apply it to a dungeon they already have made..and it would be the produce the same result..just not the same visuals.
Thanks man for making this, I really enjoyed your work on it and it is extremely well thought out. I would absolutely love to see this in Diablo 3, and it is consistent with some of the Competitive PvE elements we see Blizzard exploring. One thing I hope Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm teach Blizzard (as well as watching League of Legends) is that competitive elements take games to a new level of community interest. It would be sad to think D3 would miss that opportunity.

Totally agree with bolded statement!
I think implementing any ideas like these (or the great post MrMonstrosity put forward) is pretty unrealistic at this point in RoS' development, but I do hope the dev team recognize that competitive elements, rankings and ways to "test your might" would really work in the game's favor. In that respect, I'm hopeful that Ladder implementation and Nephalem Trials will debut at some point in the game's future. My "promo graphic" that I've pieced together here is somewhat of an embellishment on that whole prospect of competitive endgame, compartmentalized into it's own game mode.
I find the entire thing great, but I dislike pandemonium tower a lot as you put it.
1) With just going back to the last 25th stage (or 100) upon death is just not fair. This should be a challenge and you should try to reach as far as possible and death is complete reset (or death, depending on how you like to play diablo).
2) Locking skills for 25 lvls. Once again back to "check points", either they are completely locked or you can change them as you need to. I prefer the last one. Even gear should be possible to change. The point should be aimed more at "Get to the top the way you see best fit" instead of "Get to the top but you must have 1 arm on the back" - What fun would it be to have the game limit you anyway when you are testing the extent of your power?
3) Non-randomized. I also find this part to be a negative. I can understand why you don't want random in "Destroy X objectives" and speed runs, but this is not that, this is beat the crap out of your enemies, and random layout would be preferable in my opinion.
While we may not be able to implement some of the more grandiose ideas we've seen shared on fan sites and these forums during the course of our beta, we still want to know how you feel our current systems and features can be improved.
I'm pretty sure that Blizzard has read through your infographic thread (even if they didn't reply to it) so I'm wondering if Nevalistis had your proposal, among others, in mind when she made that statement. If so then that would be disappointing because Blizzard is pretty much saying "We like your idea, but we cannot implement it. Why not tell us instead how we can improve our own systems"
Ok. Seriously.Go and try getting a job @Blizzard.This is fantastic. I can't belive that Blizzard still only comes up with those little adjustments and little additions to RoS, while stuff like this is floating freely in the internet. GJ Mate.
