I was not expecting much and didn't get much but at the very least the Anniversary Dungeon is coming to PTR next week.

The auction house definitely had lots of problems, but near complete lack of trading in a Diablo game feels very weird IMO. I don't think the 2-hr in game limited to 4 people is enough. At least limited to clans or friends wherein you have friend on your friend's list for a week or been part of the clan for awhile.Quote from Zixx7
My guess is will have something to do with BOA and some sort of trading since that is by far the most common complaint -

- New Paragon Portraits
- More Banners
- Ladder
- Devil's Hand
- PvPvE
- Offline mode =p
This would actually be quite amazing, in-game lobby for clans or anywhere with dozens of players in game.

People can do whatever the hell they want with their own money, but as for me. I'm gonna hold off for the reviews and ladder.
By what I currently see in RoS, it isn't worth the $40 to me and definitely not the€40 ($54.54) if I was in Europe.

Note that these are just my own predictions and could be definitely be wrong.Posted in: News
Ros Release
RoS beta started last week in mid-november, that indicates a possible 6 months before the release of RoS.
Sometime around May (Most likely May 20th to coincide with the 2-year anniversary of Diablo 3 Vanilla's release, I know that technically May 20th is not the exact date of D3's release, but it's the closest Tuesday).
Patch 2.0(Pre-Expansion Patch)
Now for the pre-expansion patch, Lyrilla started it could happen at anytime, but more likely around the 2-month mark prior to the release of RoS. This make it sounds to happen around mid March which also coincides with around the shutdown of the Auction Houses. So very likely on the March 18th Auction House shut off date.
PTR for Patch 2.0
Obviously there is going to be PTR before Patch 2.0 comes out and it has also been confirmed that there will be one. Typically based on D3's beta history PTR last roughly a month prior to going live, now with a big patch like 2.0 it could very well scale higher then this, maybe even 2 months or more.
Based on my earlier prediction of a mid-march release of Patch 2.0, I would further predict that Patch 2.0 PTR would be out around the 1-2 months mark prior. So this could be anytime in mid-January through mid-February.
RoS Beta, Expansion -> closed beta and possibly open beta.
First off, I actually kind of doubt that RoS would ever go open beta, but Blizzard could very well follow D3 vanilla and have an open beta weekend like they did in the past but very unlikely a full blown open beta.
Since RoS beta is already out but only to Friends, Family and Media it is still in the early stages and will eventually go towards a more expanded closed beta, essentially letting more people in who have opt-in via battle.net and later also give away keys for fansites such as Diablofans to give out.
I predict that they will probably start expanding RoS beta around December-January. -

All legendary and set items being soul-bound is a terrible idea. Don't kill trading. Killing the auction house is good, killing the social aspect of trading is bad.
If any this is really going to be what happens when RoS ships...
Then they pretty much went full transition since launch, from essentially a free market and progressively get more and more closed, from some soul bounds to removal of auction house and now to soul bound of all legendaries?
I think they need balance, I generally believe that removal of the AH was for the better, not really sure about current soul-bound items but that doesn't mean we should go from one extreme to the other.
If legendaries are all sound-bound (even if it's just top end) then what do we trade?
Soul-bound items: demonic essences, organs, keys, nephilim rift keys (from RoS Demo), now all legendaries/sets (I'm assuming legendary plans too?, possibly some of the new crafting materials?
Non Soul-bound items: We are getting more and more limited in what we can trade now... gold, lower tier gems, low end crafting materials, rares (rares might actually not even be end game items anymore since now legendaries can roll at any level and have unique affixes that rares don't have) -

They're likely preparing for a stable BlizzCon build. Major changes are bad at this point. But then, who knows?
That makes sense I guess, assuming they will be having one of the newest builds available for Blizzcon attendees to try. -

Oct 24, 2013Oranite posted a message on Reaper of Souls First Look: The MysticI think the whole transmorg to acct bound is merely just Blizzards way of enforcing an item sink, even with the auction house gone they seem to want an emphasize on playing the game more than anything else, even though it is true trading is a core component of D3 have more BoA means that good items will retain their value much better as opposed to trading off of gear you have out grown.Posted in: News

I personally feel the super rare items such as SMK and WOW should be less rare but still rare, though of course there will be others that disagreed.
Loot acquisition is such a subjective topic, it will never be 100% agreed upon, the hardcore players want it as difficult as possible and the super casuals want it as easy as possible and then there is the rest of us...

Skeleton King is a bug, one they plan to fix, but put on diablo.
I agree with this, I think all end act bosses should include the guaranteed legendary as well, as said above even with this guarantee, playing through the story is still not as effective as playing through specific zones to gain exp/legs, furthermore there are legendaries that are only in adventure mode for example, the bounty specific legendaries mentioned by Travis Day in his most recent interview on twitch.

The big question I have though, is on ladders(seasons). I would be very disappointed if they don't have ladders with RoS, not to the point that would prevent me from buying it, but it'll definitely limit my play time with Diablo if it ships without it.

It's the most logical guess we have so far, would be kind of weird with no AH and the game is still as it is... but it could happen.
If this is actually the case that means PTR will be rolling out a good month or maybe even two or three months before hand since the pre-expansion patch is suppose to be rather game changing.
I guess we will get a better idea of it at Blizzcon. Gotta wait for word on big stuff like ladder.
