Consol has spoilt me.

Hi all, just wanted to mention that I have been playing PS3 D3 with my wife and step daughter. I have to admit it is a lot of fun and feels different to the PC version. Loot is the biggest change of cause, it is not over done I think, you get up grade at a pretty good pace just when you think you need one. Legs drop a lot more then PC (that would not be hard considering the state of the game) and it seems about 60/40 whether it is usable or not for your character. I think you get more drops in co-play then single. Skills seem more buffed but that could be more the better gear then anything.

Over all I really like the consol version, there is a sense of reward from playing. We are in nightmare and have found 2 puzzle rings (never on PC with Barb Plvl59) and boy!!! is it fun having couple of treasure gobs running around while fighting a elete pack. Trouble is I have now got no interest in playing the PC version, it is boring and unrewarding and probably will not play until the loot 2.0 comes out. But the consol has made me look forward to loot 2.0 just so much more then before, wish it did not take so long and the the dev team now was there from beginning (They are doing a great job)

    Happy gaming every one.
Only good Demon is a dead Demon!!!

Well thanks for reminding us PC players how great the loot is on console.. But happy that you're having fun.

I'm rather envious of your experience, gives me hope for Loot 2.0

Well, that is no suprise. On the console the legendaries can drop in any difficulty but on pc they can currently only drop where they ilvl fits (requires level 40) in. Unless you have been farming late Nightmare or early hell this is nothing to compare with...On the console you just have to farm farm and farm and hopefully that legendary ring is a puzzle ring. That's shouldn't be hard considering they drop like it's raining.
    Make your peace...Quickly!

What I would really like to see are some figures on D3 console sales. Because I fear they're not as good as some people expected them to be :(

I like the console version way more. It takes a while to build up your character from scratch when there is no auction house but that's just part of the game.

I hope Loot 2.0 and the expansion come to console as I am never going to go back to the pc version. To me right now, the pc version is unplayable, 99.9% of drops are useless junk, not that I care anymore anyways as like I say, I have a new home on console.

I'm really glad to hear that you got such a awesome time with the console version m8!

And if anything , i don't think it has "spoiled" you. I just think that the general concept of the design on the console version is a better and more rewarding experience.

After all, the entire game is about killing demons and getting loot. And with the system of loot being so restricted on the current PC version - it's undermining a lot of the sense in the game. Also, the AH being out of the equation is a big part of it as well, i would gander.

If anything - i'm just hopin' the PC version comes sooner or later. Cause i know it will be good. I can feel it.

Yep, I've had the same experience; Actual rewarding loot, and knowing that when a legendary drops, there's actually a REALLY good chance it's usable!

    Can't wait for loot 2.0 >

Alas, as the author of the article points out, it is not a complete view:
"We won't know the total console Diablo III sales figures until Blizzard decides to release that info."

Some of the itemization on Console is horribly balanced. A good example is the pride of Casius (spelling) why the hell would blizzard make a belt with Main stat, Vit, CD, Attack speed and CC along with a strong defensive stat like melee reduction? This makes that belt the only one ill ever need on my barb...

And whats the deal with the 1h weapons? Why am i getting 1200-1400+ dps 1hers but i cant find a decent 1400+ 2h that equals them in stats? Trying to play as a two handed character is broken on console.

Also why add in smart drops that damn near roll perfect and then for crafting only have the item roll a main stat with everything else random? this makes crafting pure sh*t! Also not rerolling those legendary recipes to max level was a complete fail on blizzards part... who the hell needs a level 45 legendary or set recipe? and why do the actual level 60 recipes only roll PC DPs values 800-1k?

I also don't understand why every Set and legendary item has to be so boosted that Rares are worthless in the game? Why kill off rare gear? once you are in full lego and set items you can basically stop looting rares which takes away a lot of the fun of discovery for people.

I get that you are having fun OP but the console version has a ton of issues and im getting tired of casuals coming to these forums and getting super excited about nice leveling gear... At endgame the console version is almost as broken as D3 on PC...

My level 60 para 25+ barb is sitting in inferno Master 5 (mp10) with 400k unbuffed Dps, 700 buffed all res and 110k health, 9% LS, 1600 LoH, 650CD and 65% CC. With under 100 hours played yet my stat composition is a complete mess but what incentive do i have to fix it? im facerolling the entire game. I actually fell asleep last night playing master V act 1...

A lot of the issues you mention are not specific to console - more so then being shared with the PC version.

Albeit Console is far from having all the fixes that PC is going to get. Console only has a part of the fixes.

View it more or less like the parts of levling that was fixed in Console, is what the future parts of fixes will hopefully reflect.

I have to agree that I've been spoiled by console. I've got two 60s and a paragon of 4 (Not very high I know lol but one must earn the money). I have a DH and a Monk. On my DH I already have a 2 piece Nat and on my Monk 2 piece Inna. We've been getting loot I've never even seen before. I have to say though my two favorite items I've gotten to date are the pox faulds pants the stinky buff is funny and the butcher's sickle on my monk. There is something rewarding about seeing it fly out at enemies.

With my plvl 82 barb ( 412 hours of play time ), I jumped into the console version and played about 10 hours on inferno, and I never had much fum on 400 hours on pc...The gear on console makes the playtime so rewarding and depending on the gear , your really feel its power upgrading you. I wont touch pc version till 2.0 ... console is so exciting to play !!

I got the same feeling, the loot is so much better, me and 3 friends killed diablo on normal and he dropped 5 legendaries.

After playing through normal we have found 20+ atleast, on the pc u would have gotten 1 or 2.

The only downside is waiting for everyone to finish skills/crafting/checking loot, which takes ages with 4 ppl, other then that, its awesome :)

Until you already have that legendary and it drops again. Then you're eventually stuck deciding between is it worth playing while having next to no chance of getting an upgrade vs torturing yourself trying to get perfect gear on the console which makes it hard to trade.

I think D3 was a testament to how long the majority(read not us) will play an ARPG that they aren't getting upgrades in or a real sense of progression. Paragon can only help so much.

The choise of words here makes me believe you do not like playing the actual game and hunting the items.

"Torture" yourself? Having D3 as a Testament? If anything, this would be the time for celebrations if anything, given the oncoming updates.
