and better yet if someone who has attention of many forum people here, to make maybe a poll.
As an old time diablo player, my question would be simple here.
Do you think we had enough of group 4 play ( as a must to progress ) and its time to bring solo only mode ?
This group adventage over solo players should finally be broken, and give back 2+ years of solo adventage over group play
Not to mention the group play is so dull, brainless .... a kid that is 5 years old can play this easy game.
Yes you elitist think you are good, but we all know you are only no lifers, some of you b****ers, and think diablo actually requires skill to play.Guess what joke is on you ....
I enjoy both solo and group play, its a good way to pass the time. I also agree that to an extent D3 is an easy game. Blizzard has Leaderboards for both Solo and Group pushes to accommodate all types of play
so your post is confusing, You find the same items, same quests, same bosses, same rifts, and same RNG no matter if you play group or Solo. The only difference happens to be the small boost to XP, MF, and Gold Find you get in a group. unless you think you need to be able to solo the same Grift as the you would in a top tier Group.
Also your post showed some aggression to "Elitists" saying the game requires no skill, but in all honesty it takes practice and proper planning to do what they do. You're making a generalization based off of aggression. There was no point in that part of your post except to anger a small community of gamers. If you don't like group play don't take your frustrations out on people who do, just solo and be happy for the great experiences you've had playing diablo.
I agree that group play is much easier than solo. Currently doing gr 90 as support class requires much less dedication than doing 80 solo and thats imho bad. I still think that group play should outperform solo but not in the way it does now.
I don't agree with all the aggression in the first post tho
group should always have an advantage. There is nothing more shitty than the feeling that playing with a friend drags you down.
I hate multiplayer and never play it, but agree 100% with Shapookya. You should NEVER encourage players not to play with other people if they enjoy doing so.
Blizzard has Leaderboards for both Solo and Group pushes to accommodate all types of play
I didnt read rest of post but this is where it is broken. The so-called solo leader boards and not from solo playing.Maybe less than a hand full of players are within top 5 from solo but thats it.
Since leader boards are tied into paragon points,a true solo player will not reach what someone does within group play, which mean they will not make top spots on boards.
I'll agree that the gap between solo and group players (assuming equal paragon) should be less significant, but group play should always be encouraged, as it provides the option for support builds - at the same time I think that the current 3x zDPS support is problematic, in that it largely removes build options for players.
There are 2 clear causes of disparity between solo and group; underpowered followers and overpowered supports.
Followers have felt underpowered for the majority of the game's lifespan. They lack numerous gear slots, have no follower-specific sets (asheara doesn't count, since it is not worn by follower), provide limited bonuses, and their ability power does not scale (meaning they do practically 0 dmg). I personally think that the follower should act as a 2nd player; the same as if you ran in a 2 man group. Expanding options for follower gearing/skill setup and improving dmg output and scaling to a more acceptable level would enable more build diversity in solo play; a player could choose to run as support for their follower, if they so desired.
The other issue here is the power of supports. In solo play, you either have no dmg, or no support, whereas in group play, you have 1 DPS and then all other spots are filled by supports with non-overlapping buffs. The shear quantity of buffs present in group play currently makes solo and group play incomparable. It has been largely agreed that adding a support for dmg buff is often more beneficial than adding a 2nd DPS for dmg output; this indicates that group dmg buffs are too powerful and should therefore be nerfed, to bring them in line with DPS alternatives. This would then create a situation where groups can opt for another DPS to boost dmg, or opt for another support to provide pulls/healing/debuffs/buffs/CC/etc.
The reason why group play is so much more rewarding than solo, is that it enables a group to climb so much higher, which naturally provides higher exp gain, drop rates and improved gem upgrade chances, and then on top of this, they receive a group play buff. Group play should be rewarding, but not this rewarding. Either allow group to climb higher OR provide an exp boost while playing in group - don't do both.
I dont have time to be active in clans or communities. I randomly hop into the game for 20-45 minutes and the only form of group play i get is from random groups.
They suck ass. You are better off soloing. There will ALWAYS be the guy who is afk in town, the guy who is following you around (in a SPLIT bounty game ffs) because it's too hard for him to solo, the guy who has no clue about builds or items or what is enchanting?
I can either spend 45 minutes looking for a group without people with a "learning disability" or just play 45 minutes alone and get some stuff done.
There should be an option "create solo character" just when you make a seasonal/non-seasonal character. With nothing but solo aka single player experience.
yeah that's what everyone are forced to do if they want to compete...
I was sucked in 4p meta somewhere around paragon 700 2 years ago. when t6 rift was still a maximum. I ran them endlessly but xp was next to zero. This is when i gave up and created zdps monk and started speeding gr50s. that was like x10 more exp.
Yeah I have to agree, someone that levels to 1500 -2k paragon grouping and then runs a "solo" GRift to the leader-boards isn't a "solo" player.
It cracks me up to see a player on the solo leaderboards with a level 90 gem when their top tier is 60-something. It's impossible to obtain that level without running group.
I would like a pure solo mode to make that leaderboard actually mean something. You could have an isolated stash for those sets of characters so there is truly no benefit in gear accumulation, gem leveling, etc. from other characters on the account running groups. I would like to see how different it really is the level of achievement when someone can't leverage any benefit from a group play.
No group leveling, bounties, Rift/Grifts, gear, etc. Just pure solo.

Just the power gain from bringing along the "support" squad along with your 1 dps, should be more than enough incentive to encourage group play.
Having the XP multipliers, and poorly mob scaling just makes the rewards differ too much.
There is no good reason why solo play should be so much more unrewarding than group play.

Different stash yeah.
Don't like idea myself since it's like 100% social isolation except you can watch leaderboard. lol
But there are geeks over there who never played a 4p game anyway, never played public, and a lot people demanded single player as well.
