posted a message on Challenge Rifts - A missed opportunity or an unfinished mode

Haven't actually looked at Challenge Rifts and don't have any plans to. The idea is completely uninteresting to me and I can't think of any tweaks to it that would make me interested.

I would have happily paid my $A22 just for two stash tabs and two character slots even if there wasn't a new class included as well.

    Quote from Kamui1770go-next

it's actually not a QOL change at all. In fact it diminishes it. I already had this discussion with another person on Dfans post Blizzcon.

What the armory does in terms of coding language is point an array towards your inventory. Its like using vlookup in excel. It looks up the info in your stash and uses that info for the armory.

So yes, you can have multiple builds per character slots. However, it WILL NOT free up any inventory in your stash. This is what people actually wanted, a way to free up stash space. Because what eats it up the most is multiple variations of the same set item due to RNG.
That's exactly what "QOL" means. Quality Of Life. It's not a functional change, it's not a change that allows you do something you couldn't do before (e.g. store more items). It's a Quality Of Life change: it saves you tedious clicking and dragging etc. when you want to change to a different build.
imho it's a nice boon for anyone who uses separate gear/skills for e.g. speedfarm vs. hard content. Or for anyone who wants to try out a different build and be able to simply switch back to their "main" with a click of a button.

Sounds like the multiplayer situation in Diablo 2. Such a large proportion of players were cheating that if you joined a multiplayer game and weren't cheating yourself, you'd be roundly abused for not pulling your weight.

I completely stopped playing multiplayer D2 as a result, and I'm very happy that I enjoy D3 more solo than multiplayer, too, if it has gone down the same "cheat or GTFO" route.

group should always have an advantage. There is nothing more shitty than the feeling that playing with a friend drags you down.

I hate multiplayer and never play it, but agree 100% with Shapookya. You should NEVER encourage players not to play with other people if they enjoy doing so.

posted a message on Have you got your s6 stash tab?

Nope and don't expect to. Similar reason to chadwx - I have no intention to ever try to master a set dungeon, that's the most anti-fun crap I have ever experienced in any Diablo game.

Realistically, if you have four pieces from Haedrig's gifts, you should have six pieces approximately ten minutes later. :-)

Have you tried to do the GR20 for the third gift and failed?

Really, you need to think of single-player and multi-player D3 as two completely different games.

imho, the difference between single-player and multi-player is much greater than the difference between Softcore and Hardcore.

If you enjoy single-player (like I do), then play it. But don't look at the multi-player people and get angry that they are vastly more advanced than you. That's like a Hardcore player looking at a Softcore player who goes full glass cannon and dies a lot, and getting angry that you can't do that in Hardcore.

The problem is your worth in this game is often judged by your paragon level. An average player with above average paragon is viewed by most as being a better player than a great player with a lower paragon. Right or wrong thats just the way it is.
The gold standard for judgement is Greater Rift progression, surely?
I just looked at the Season leaderboard. Top 4-man is tier 89. But in Hardcore, top is tier 73.
Why are Hardcore players so horrible?
Point is.. if you play single-player, and feel "judged" because people who are playing a completely different game to you have a higher score on a completely different scale.. well, that's your problem, not the game's problem. And I say that as a single-player player with a low Paragon Level. And a low Greater Rift progression too.

posted a message on How long has it been since you played a public game?

I guessed S1/S2. Not sure exactly though. It was early in the seasons, though. Since then been all solo.

Since solo and multiplayer are completely different games, with multiplayer progression being 10x to 100x faster, you really have to play 100% solo or 100% multiplayer. If you try to mix, every second you spend playing solo is time spent gimping yourself. But if you play 100% solo you can enjoy that very different game.

posted a message on What do you do with your non season characters?

If I'm playing Season, my non-Season characters just chillax and wait until they're wanted.

Although this season, I decided to play a Barbarian, and since my original character from D3 release day was a Barb, I rebirthed him just to keep the days /played ticking up.

I think the game has ran its course. For a console port it was really good.

In diablo 2 and poe there are other things you farm for, in diablo 3 its only gear (that most people already have).

Remind me what I was farming for in Diablo 2 other than gear? Are you referring to the fact that max level took longer to achieve? Because grinding to 99 in D2 didn't feel terribly different to grinding Paragons in D3.

posted a message on Season 5 (Least Pleasant Season to Date)

There's no denying Haedrig's Gift made a massive change to the way the season unfolds. I'm a super casual player and within two weeks of this season starting, my character was more advanced than the best I'd ever achieved in any previous season or in non-seasonal play! I found this quite enjoyable, especially since the build pushed on me by the class I chose and the set they awarded me - Leapquake Barbarian - is incredibly fun to play.

But I absolutely understand that it would have really undermined the seasonal experience for some people, unavoidably so.

I like the suggestion mentioned in Bagstone's post about the Gift giving you two pieces each of three sets. That's generous without being game-defining.

posted a message on So what other games are you all playing???

PoE definitely has some interesting mechanics, like the skill gems + support gems + linkages between them.

But I simply never found the action to be anywhere near as much fun as D3. I spent some dozens of hours playing it, then went back to D3.

Is it really a competition when you are awarded nothing? Is there a secret I got top 10 in s5 club that I don't know about?
Instead of worrying about what others are doing, just try to see how high you can go on your limited playtime and see where that gets you or compete against friends and put a wager on it if you really want it to mean something. . I'm not retarded, I just worry about real life things more.
    Typical cheat's logic.
If someone is so obsessed with how well they do relative to others that they're willing to cheat to win, well that's just fine.
But if someone points out that these cheating scum are damaging the competitive spirit of the game, then they're a bad person who is too worried about "not real life things".
