This thing has got me abit confused. it rates me almost the same as cro (acctually saying i have more EHP and DPS than him)
and i know that aint true
I do not have your battletag or I would be able to look more closely. Firstly, you may have logged out buffed, and he may have logged out without all his gear correctly?
Seraphim#2480 is my battletag. and now it seems that cro has logged out buffed, since it now says he has over 700k dps
still beat him in ehp tho.
by the looks of it i acctually think the site values ehp abit to much over dps.
not saying you don´t need ehp, just saying you need dps more after a certain point.
Our site analyzes the correct amount you need to complete the content without struggle... you achieve this better than Cro does... I am not at all calling Cro's gear bad, or that he is a bad player, but I would personally prefer your stats if I were running higher content... I understand he may be able to push through it with higher dps, but he is risking higher death rates which will not make the content more "Optimal".... he does not have sufficient EHP to survive the massive hits with ease... Of course the ability of a player can overcome EHP concerns, but we wanted to aim at making content easy in an MP... remember, the goal of our website is to achieve what is OPTIMAL for your character.... we know most people can run very high content, and push the limits of their gear, it is our mission to find what is right if you are interested in farming.
**edit**
Just looked more closely at Cro.. he needs to run a defensive warcry to survive the content.
The site has been updated, we improved the accuracy of gear ratings and made other changes such as social media connectivity, we appreciate all the help this forum has given us, and want to thank you for all the feedback we have received.

Haven't actually played D3 since 1.0.8 (since I got banned for selling gems, lol), but happened to see this page, so I tested it out on my Monk. Seems kind of strange that it suggests MP7 as efficient when I spent the majority of my time speed farming MP10. I've calculated my farming rates to be mathematically superior in MP10, so there's probably a lot of things that the calculator doesn't account for. MP10 elites usually took less than 15 seconds.
I think it's possible that it favors eHP score too much, even though in reality DPS can just kill mobs before they have the time to do much damage. It also probably doesn't account for Phys Resist being better than other resists since most incoming unavoidable damage is physical.
Another things is it shows my garbage barb with a 1215 dps skorn (which it shows as orange) as mp6 when mp6 isn't efficient for it. While I *can* farm up to like mp9 on it, it's really only truly efficient at like 4-5. Also shows my pretty bad barb shoulders/belt as orange as well when they should probably be like yellow.
I like the concept of the site, but feel like it needs adjustments for better accuracy if possible.
Thinking about buying a new account to play some D3 again, just a little hesitant because I was never able to find out from Blizz why I actually got banned the first time. I'd probably use your site to decide crafting priorities since it seems to do a good job at rating those items.
I'm not sure if I get all the excitement over this.
It seems a novelty at best. I mean this as a purely constructive post, so don't take me like I'm gettin my troll on.
I'll start by sayin; The site is missing something. I feel like there's more this "tool" needs to tell us in order to be anything but a 1-time curiosity.
It qualified my p100 Monk at MP6.
This....this is not right at all. MP6 with my Monk is a god damn joke. Anything less than MP9 is an afterthought, a cakewalk that would only see my Monk die if I decided to go take a piss while fighting elites. My Monk has some vita/DPS issues on MP10, I won't argue that. I typically farm him on MP9-10, not anything real difficult.
My p50 WD, it pegged well. Rated him above my Monk @ MP7. I actually farm my WD @ MP8, very very few instances of death.
So.....I'm puzzled as to what is striking this formula. Something is dragging the score down unfairly on my Monk, and it appears to be my weapons. Neither of my weaps are godly/elite quality, but both are quite nice, extremely effective Monk weapons.
Both of these are rated between 500-600-ish......below average. This dragged my score down and provided me with a skewed result, far below what it should have been.
So, maybe I'm missing something? Perhaps the formula isn't considering something it should, or, perhaps it's considering something it shouldn't?
Aside from all the particulars, I'm not sure of the point? If one wishes to know what MP they are optimal for....well.....play the game and you'll find out. I don't need a "tool" to tell me if I'm having difficulty, so I'm thinking this tool needs something else to make it relevant.
since two monks now have stated they get rated for lower mp than they think is fair, it may be the case that monks tend to have alot of hidden dps that the site doesn´t take into account. i mean a 200k dps barb is fairly "meh". but a 200k dps monk is fairly good acctually.
I had some question for the OP regarding how much (if any) influence our chars skill-bar setup may have on the total score?
I use an unusual Speed Palm variant, one that has ZERO 'out-of-combat' buffs. No BoH, No Blinding Flash. My DPS buffs roll full uptime during combat, using Quickening rune on FoT to allow massive spams of Exploding Palm (with +12% DPS buff on target) that I can spam at will, often tagging 3-6 enemies in just seconds. Blazing fists and Combo Strike gain me another +16% DPS and +15% Attack Speed.
So.....my unbuffed DPS appears as is on my char sheet, no residual BoH buff etc will appear. Is this "tool" not finding DPS on passives/runes?
EDIT: I wanted to add; What's buggin me here is that it rates my p50 WD 1MP ahead of my p100 Monk. Despite the fact that my WD has over 25k less dps, 3% less LS, half the EHP and 7k less vita.
Flat-out, if the intent of the website is to tell you where your char is at (in terms of MP).......then why does it rate my WD higher even though my WD CANNOT handle the shit that my Monk can handle, not even close?
It gets the "whopping" grade of 316, which is Vendor Trash. Granted, it's nothing amazing but upgrades for it are found only around few dozen millions range.
Not vendor trash, as I would call it.
However, I have a few Monk weaps that you're welcome to have that might add more pop than that, if you're not going for dual LS. If you play US server, I have a socketed 1100+ dps Turrasq fist and this axe just gathering dust.
Just add me and give a holler if you have any need :Thumbs Up:

I don't think the tool is suggesting what MP you character is capable of doing. Anyone with sufficient EHP and sustainable life regen setup can do max MP10 if they want too.
However, you can, doesn't mean you should. Be it legendary farming or demonic essence farming, sometime, downgrading a few MP will yield more effective result. Especially if you are planning to farm for long hours... instead of stressing yourself with constant repositioning and kiting from environment damage in higher difficulty, playing at lower MP is much more relax.

Actually it says on the webpage itself that the point of the tool is to tell players what MP they can "crush the content" on.
Now.......why do I need that?
Sounds a lot like a cell phone app that tells me when I'm outside. I don't need an app to tell me when I'm outside because.....I'm me and I know when I'm outside.
Like with this tool, I know what MP I can crush content on.....it's frickin obvious. We all know this, why do we need a tool to tell us this very obvious conclusion?
Still the tool was off on my two main chars. If the tool is off, it's already pointless purpose becomes far more pointless. My Monk "crushes" everything below MP9. Yet this tool rates him at MP6.
My WD crushes everything below MP7, yet it rates him at MP7, an MP setting that doesn't see my WD "crushing", at least not by my estimation.
I'll stick with my original assessment. That this tool needs something else. It needs to be able to tell people more information than it does. Maybe some way for it to make suggestions based on specific goals. Or perhaps a more diverse and deeper breakdown of gear.
As it is, the gear scores are somewhat subjective and not really useful. All it gives is a static number value without any explanation. One suggestion I would give would be to add to the gear score. Make it give more feedback than just this number. Have it explain why a piece of gear is rated low or high.
Hm, strange.. At home (IE 10, Firefox) the site looks somewhat different than at work (IE9).
No second empty paperdoll and the explaining text mentioned in the first post was not displayed...
Never mind.
@author: Regarding Item Score (lowly 439 !?) of my EF (Grognak the Barbarian):
In the European AH a better EF would AT LEAST cost 149M GP !
So i guess my Echoing Fury isn't THAT bad ...
The tool is not bad and it is fun to use. The main point here, imo, is that it is totally useless.
Is telling me that my barb is rated mp10, but this has no real meaning. I use to farm mp8 for essences and there is no point for me to farm mp10 solo unless for ubers.
I would LOVE to see some of those stat:
- Skill used (bash): oneshot average white mob at mp:x
- skill (sprint): oneshot average white mob at mp:y
- skill (hota): oneshot average white mob at mp:z
- average time to kill an elite pack: mp1-2 sec, mp5-6 seconds, mp10-25 seconds
- maximun damage dealt by monster oneshot you at mpxx (20 i guess lol)
Oneother thing i will like to see is survivability to lag and dc for HC.
Sorry I haven't replied in a while, we have been very busy working on adjustments for the site which are largely driven by this forum. We have done adjustments to calculated ehp that are live and should be much more accurate now, so please check those out, and we are currently working on other tweaks. We aren't declaring that the site is perfect, one thing it can never predict is how a player wants to play, we do not wish to adjust how someone wants to play and we encourage it completely, thus we will never satisfy everyone. The goal of our website is to supply you with an mp level that will suit your current gear, as well as give a quick overview of your gear so you don't have to spend hours theorycrafting over which items is holding you back.
The feedback received on this forum has been phenomenal, we really appreciate all the support, there has been a lot of time and effort in the criticism of our site, and we treat this as gold. We cannot improve without critique.
Thank You.

As it stands, all my gear is yellow.

For public games I run MP9 and normally I'm the person moving the group along with the most DPS.
