I've been watching the leader in paragon levelling and he's only picking up legendaries.
Just wondering if anyone else does that? Do you think it's more efficient to save the time of picking up and identifying rares in order to kill more elites for legendaries?
Come to think of it, the last time I got an even remotely decent rare (i.e. sells for 10 mil+) was about a month ago, I've wasted hours and hours picking them up, ID-ying them, and vendoring them. This has got to be a design flaw!
Q "What you're going to do after hitting p100?"
A "MFing."
Basically he's just doing that right now for the fame and maximising his xp/hour, you actually should pick up all ilvl 61+ jewelry & weaponry and at least ilvl 63 armor. Just think about that: from all those legendaries he picks up, how many will have good rolls and sell for a couple of millions? I sold ony 1.0.4 legendary for 1M, all the others for 200k or less - just had no luck with the weapons just yet
Ps: 1000 vendored ilvl 60+ rares equals to another million of gold, it all adds up
Well that's comforting I guess. It would be a sad day if people started to leave rares on the ground and the AH start to dry up with everything but legendaries!
Bad luck with the legendaries though I've had a couple that sold for 30 mil + even with terrible rolls (natalya ring, Immortal King helm). A good portion of legendaries have base stats that are better than most equivalent rares, not to mention the desirable set bonuses.
Picking lvl 60+ rare jewelery and 62-63 lvl weapons and armor, legendaries too ofc. But then again i'm not farming for world 1st paragon or smth, just playing casually from time to time.

The unique build that he is running on the live stream allows him to keep up the "Wrath of the Berserker" buff for a continuous and unlimited amount of time. He accomplishes this by constantly fighting and gaining Fury, while burning off excess Fury with Rend. If he stops, or the run to the next monster pack is too long, the buff is lost and goes to cooldown.

What's his exact build? The stream is offline right now, so I can't see.

Pick up and ID the ilvl 50-59 gear also. Well-rolled gear sells for a lot on the AH since there are so few people selling this gear to all the people leveling alts. You're leaving a ton of gold sitting on the ground by ignoring this gear.

actually the cooldown starts when he presses wrath. If he's in wrath for the entire cooldown he could in theory let wrath end, pick up the rares, then push wrath again to keep going.

For anybody farming at a decent rate, no you're not. I have countless lvl 60+ gear that I can't even attempt to sell because my AH is full of 1 mill+ items that I'm waiting to sell even at heavy discounts and I still gather it faster than I can sell it. I have never had any ilvl 59 or less (excluding jewelry) item sell for more than 100k which is not remotely worth my time trying to sell. By trying to sell low priced crap you just prevent yourself from making more money off the high value items.
phuzi0n, when you have a backlog THAT long, go start dropping items on the RMAH (especially if you have the external PayPal). Most good items will sell, even if it's just in the $2-3 range, and you'll clear out your stash about 50-75% faster (market on RMAH tends to go a bit slower than GAH, buyout is used a hair less often).
Failing that, since Blizz fixed the Unidentified Item exploit, you can usually sell iLvl 63s over trade for 100-200k without IDing them.
All of this is on US servers, but I can't imagine it's all THAT much different on Euro
Until Legendaries drop as often as rares, I'm still picking them up. It doesn't take that much time and you can certainly still make decent gold off them.
Just sold some lvl 63 boots with 12% move speed, 77 res all, and 100+ dex/vit for 28 million after tax :Thumbs Up:
You are a lucky man.
Not sure if people are interested, but I recorded the rares or better I got from the last 10 odd runs. In total, I got 455 rares and 5 legendaries.
The most valueable rare I got sold for 585K, it was a 900 dps weapon with -15 level requirement (not even a good roll just a lucky niche stat).
Only 14 items were sold on the AH, average is ~100K. The rest were all vendored. Before anyone say that I might have vendored some good items, I consider myself fairly experienced AH-er and know what to look for in a good item, and if unsure I ALWAYS do a comparative check on the AH. (e.g. I know that max gold find gear always sells for 200K+ due to bots buying them)
In contrast, the 5 legendaries I got sold for 180K (wizardspike), 9 mil (depth diggers with dex + 1 socket), 18 mil (lacuni bracers with crit and all resist), 32 mil (Nat ring very ordinary roll), and 4 mil (nat helm with int).
But I agree not picking up rares (at least the 63 ones) would make me sleep a little less at night...
