So anticipation reached a fever pitch at 12 AM PDT, only to leave most of us spamming our passwords for an hour. Once we made it through the Act 0 challenge, though, most of us have had a few hours at the least to play past the Beta content we already knew and see a few deaths
Damn tree poison!
.
So, how well has day 1 performed in comparison to the hype and your anticipation?

I grew up gaming without internet forums. The entire phenomenon of being upset with a game developer makes no sense to me. No sense. I cannot imagine spending my time and energy being upset about something I choose to do for recreation.
i groaned having to go through the beta content again (and 19 more times for the rest of the chars+difficulties...) but go totally hyped once I was able to go past SK
log-in issues were a pain but even then I didn't expect to be able to get in at all
Pretty good, all the haters do not understand the traffic they were experiencing, they are not to blame, this is the first Blizzard launch that I have ever lagged on, this is to say that they usually have very smooth launches. For me anyway.

Definitely not what I was expecting. I figured they would be able to manage the launch better, and due to working second shift, the current 10:22 PST hour long maintenance is upsetting. Oh well I guess, shouldn't have set my expectations so high
For myself, I was a little annoyed at 3 AM when I sacrificed sleep to hit the ground running and there wasn't a log-in queue to funnel the traffic. That said I cooled my jets in a LoL match, came back and got in within 5-10 minutes, and had even more fun than I had expected taking my Barb through act 1.

Best gaming experience I've ever had after the initial login snafu. Blizzard has outdone themselves with this one, the storytelling mechanics are top notch. It FEELS like Diablo, but the characters are way more involved than anything you could imagine from D2.
Hell even in the beta areas I found events and locations I never saw in beta.

WoW Vanilla and SC2 launches were horrible. Expansions do not count because they are just big content patches for a server farm already tested and built-out.

But Blizz understand the amount of traffic they'd be getting and this is still happening? What a joke.
Yeah. It did feel like going through that open beta weekend hell didn't do anything.
I agree with most people around here, putting aside the horrible waiting time (took me like an hour+ of waiting), the game is top notch, beautiful graphics, i love the fact that the characters (hireling and you) have conversations between travels, etc.
Overall a great experience, eclipsed only by the continuous delays.

I'm satisfied with Diablo III thus far. I played for four and a half hours this morning and shit was fantastic. I had a really good time. Now, when the servers come online I'll be doing a Butcher run with my buddy. Should be fun.
Launch early hours sucked, but was completely expected, but still disappointing. As far as the game itself, got exactly what I paid for, and that is an amazingly fun and adictive game! I'd vote it surpassed my expectations, but really it didn't, since my expectations were through the roof, but the game delivered.
I'm talking about the total package of launch day, server issues, play, anything else... From you've experienced as a consumer overall today, what's your satisfaction level.
