Until someone actually has a case heard in court "a judge might rule XYZ" is meaningless. A judge might do a lot of things. Forum speculation on what a judge might do is pointless. Blizzard had a team of contract and finance lawyers (not to mention economists) to design the current system in a way that they felt legally protected them. Whatever questions you have, they've already been thought about and referenced against the most applicable legal precedent.
That is not to say an excellent lawyer might not be able to come up with a challenge that holds water. But really, does anyone here think they've discovered a legal scenario Blizzard hasn't prepared for with the RMAH? Really?
(I wouldn't normally argue from incredulity or appeal to authority, as they are normally logical fallacies and that just isn't my style. That said when people are putting forth speculation about legal scenarios despite having no legal expertise themselves I think it's only fair to place a heavy burden of proof solely on someone who poses the hypothesis)
so another player that expected to beat inferno and have perfect gear within a few weeks without participating in the economy
If that was aimed at me, i'll simply state that assumptions are the mother of all fuck ups
So you made a false assumption about someone else's post (he's clearly referencing the OP) and used that false assumption as grounds to take a shot at people making assumptions...
I was expecting such a post to be honest because i knew it could also be seen as me defending all complaints and all posts and threads on the subject. I agree with your general sentiments on this.
I just want to add that those that nerdrage and find their opinion to be a fact excist on both sides of the fence.
There's difference between being a fan and a fanboy, you're advocating everyone to be a fanboy and if you dare critize the game and point out it's flaws all of the sudden you are simply bashing the game. Not to express how displeased you are with the results but no simply to do so to spite others, really that's what you believe?
Go look up other fansites, go beyond gaming just look at sports even there die hard sport fans will not simply say but will shout if something is amis due to their dedication.
Final note, opinions don't have to be positive to be constructive, If you dislike negative comments on any subject i suggest you refrain from using any forums where anyone can voice their opinions freely.
There's a difference between being critical and being a whiner. There are plenty of people who post here and the official forums with honest analysis about what they were expecting, and why they're disappointed, and what they'd like to see done differently. Those threads tend to garner respect and foster some interesting back and forth before passing quickly and quietly off the front page. People who disagree find middle ground, see things from other people's perspectives and put forth productive suggestions that they feel might satisfy both sides of an issue.
Then there are people who have a driving need to have their petty ego's protected by by seeing other people agree with them in their nerd-rage. This is the sort of poster that cannot distinguish their own subjective opinion from an undeniable fact. "XYZ is clearly broken, and Blizzard doesn't care. They just want your muneez!" They bring nothing of value, but they drive heavy traffic because people get mad when they see blatant stupidity, and have a hard time not engaging. These threads stay on the front page for days at a time as people get invested in pointless "last word" competitions and the gravitational drama well sucks more people in constantly.
If the newspaper industry were doing better, these latter people could seek jobs as political or sports columnists. People whose job it is to put forth loud and logically incongruous arguments on a regular basis, because the awful truth about the nature of media consumption is that in the aggregate people will spend more time engaging with something stupid and offensive than they will with something thoughtful and insightful.
Age has nothing to do with playing an M rated game. Maturity is a much more reasonable measure by which you can gauge someones readiness to play an M rated game. Violent games do not incite aggressive behaviors in a child or adult unless they have a pre-existing condition or a mental incapacity to understand that this is fictional and doing this is real life is wrong.
Complete and utter bullshit. It's been proven to be the exact opposite.
Really? Can you site a specific study that has shown causal evidence of video game subject matter influencing developmental outcomes towards violence? If you're going to claim proof, I'd love to see where it came from. It sure sounds like you conflating soft science correlation with hard science causality to me.
I love how everyone jumped on the OP to tell him how weak and broken WDs are.... when the OP has made tutorial videos of himself killing every possible inferno boss, and posted them to this very forum.
Huh? Is this suddenly a thread about if the WD is viable? I've killed all of the bosses as well and I'll tell you that the WD is the weakest range class (I have 0 experience with melee so I won't speak there). Everyone is entitled to their opinions, please don't pretend like yours is better than everyone who has a negative opinion of the class.
Yes, we all know how you feel. You never miss a chance to restate your opinion in any thread about WD's. No one has silenced you. Keep sharing. It's your thing.
Not sure why someone else having an opinion is such a threat to you, though... even though I didn't even express an opinion. I just think it's funny that people jumped on this dude with a tone that made me think he was a noob until i checked him out, only to find out... he's been busy making tutorials for the last two weeks.

That's actually kind of impressive.

There's no point in being upset with people who are bad at math. Economics is about taking advantage of exactly those people!

+1 to you then sir. I concur.

Why the heck are you reading forums for a game you haven't played in almost a month?

If an iLvL 61 item might be eligible for say +X to Y Vitality, an iLvL 62 would be eligible for +A to B Vitality
(Where: A>X AND B>Y)

Ha! That's a laugh. Customers make impossible/illegal demands all the time.
