Nope, Jay wilson said that number sounds about right. If you're disappointed by the number of uniques... well... don't get your hopes up and prepare to be disappointed
I figured I'd be disappointed by the items since they refuse to release ANY info on them until release.... it turns out I was right Oh well, I'll still enjoy the game.

Do you have a source? cause in this vid --> http://uk.ign.com/videos/2012/05/06/diablo-iii-blizzards-top-tips-for-inferno-mode
Jay clearly states that: There are new monster affixes in inferno that aren't anywhere else in the game.
Since the guide does not have a single affix unique to inferno i suspect the same is true with items and item affixes.
Again this is only speculation.

As for the new Inferno affixes... he does say "affixes that you won't find in NORMAL". I think nightmare, Hell and Inferno will have the same affixes. I was under the impression that they saved certain affixes for nightmare because they felt they were too complex for normal.
I wouldn't say that. Firstly you can always break them down for all important materials or sell them, since they will fetch a good price. Secondly, these items will be invaluable to hardcore characters. Throw a bunch of these items in your stash and you'll make life for your hardcore characters a lot easier.
I'm actually glad they have a few items up to 60. Besides, I mostly see these items as good place holders to do Inferno so you can get your set items.

Unfortunatly jay said on blizzcon 2011 q&a that we cannot trade gear from normal to HC chars (and hc does not have acess to AH) which makes legendary non 60 drops kinda useless for trade.
I for one do not mind having some non 60 legendaries, what bothers me is that we have so little 60 ones... but again, i still think that guide is lacking some serious inferno stuff.

What about non 60 legendaries that you find while leveling a character in HC? HC has a gold auction house.
I loved collecting set and legendary items in D2, and look forward to trying to find one of every set and legendary in D3. Even if they are not as useful to the current character I would be playing. There are other 9 other chars to level.
And if you have 10 level 60s, you might want to reroll one. (might not like the name, gender, etc,) And start from the beginning. You have the gear for it now.
Planning ahead for your other characters. Is a smart thing to do.

I want to travel to exotic places, meet interesting people. And then throw spider-filled jars of pottery at them.
Then sell them or melt them down for components, some of us like finding cool stuff while leveling up, and us hardcore guys die anyways, so we can always use the lower level legendaries we find.
unless you die with it on

I don't understand this whole "leveling up is pointless" idea that so many people have... yes, respecs are free but why would that take away the fun in leveling or trying out new builds in earlier content?
still found it somewhat fun to play through D2 normal with a couple friends and players 8 activated (even though it was pretty easy) just for the laughs.. as a more casual play session, you know?
D3 has a much better randomization system and I certainly see myself playing through Normal to try out different skills on Nightmare/Hell than the ones I've used the first time I leveled up my character, specially with those friends that aren't as hardcore gamers as I am.
And low level legendaries are great for giving a small taste of what's to come in the later levels, so I'm glad they chose to design the game like this

I'm a leveler, i enjoy the pre end game content almost always more then the endgame content, sure i had raid characters in WoW and EQ, but i enjoyed leveling alts and participating in lower level PVP a lot more then raiding and doing stuff that didn't net me levels.
That is why i love hardcore, i can level as much as i want without even getting to most of the end game

I know, but that's not much of a setback.
You'll use a main to play it safe, crafting items and using or breaking down rares, while keeping the really good items aside. This will increase the survivability of your other characters by quite a bit.

In a recent interview (http://gb.thesims3.c...assetId=2986546) Jay mentioned that the monsters in Inferno have some new abilities. He mentioned one called "Grenadier" and another that had a "waller" ability.
lol read what I said again. I gave you a direct quote from that interview. Pay careful attention to the wording. He says Inferno monsters have affixes that aren't found in NORMAL. It's an odd thing to say, but the way he says it makes people think that Inferno monsters will have special affixes but that's not what he actually said.
I'm mostly talking about once everyone has a level 60 character of each class all these items are rendered useless( because of the free respecs with no conscience). You cannot use them for twinks, nothing. So basically 2months -6 months-1yr-2yr from now all those uniques will be wasted dev time since you will never use them again.
Let me guess, you only play softcore and don't have friends to play with. Just kidding, I only said that to setup my point.
1) Hardcore players will probably lose atleast a few and have to remake.
2) If you have friends who play the game casually or just friends who think it would be fun to play through as a group from level 1 or run "restricted" characters through the game, odds are, you will make more than 5 characters.
3) If you're playing hardcore pvp, odds are, you'll want multiple duelers separate from your main characters once they finally add in PvP and assuming that death is still permanent.
4) Lets say you want to run a specific build through from lvl 1 to 60. Example, a ranged sorc vs a melee sorc playthrough would be completely different.

Well aware how that works, but you ignored that fact in your statement about how these won't be useful to HC characters:

HC does have access to the AH. If you find a legendary bow while leveling your HC barbarian, it would be a good idea to pass that down to your HC demon hunter or sell it on the HC AH.
