posted a message on Why Legendary Items Are (Mostly) Useless Before RoS (Video)
I disagree with the premise, so I'll divert a bit. You say:

"n this video I briefly go through the items I found and explain why they're mostly useless, why legacy gear along with crafted Archon rares is the best option until RoS..."

but finish that with:"and why there's really nothing to do but grind XP"

That assumes that acquiring legendaries is done in place of grinding exp. But you will likely fnd legendaries in the course of grinding exp, and in some cases they will be better than rares (especially if you are a new character or transitioning from Master to Torment+). So calling legendaries "useless" is something that doesn't hold that much meaning. There are too many threads about the relative quality/dro rates of items which are, by design, the most random things in this game.

I must be missing some connection here or something.

Ideas in game design are a dime-a-dozen. Anyone can have ideas and anyone can photoshop up a cool new feature or game mode for their favorite title. That being said, some ideas are really cool and interesting, some things I would definitely try out.

Everyone can post their ideas on the internet and just because they do, it doesn't mean the walls (and trashcans) at Blizzard aren't lined with ideas that never made it into the game for whatever reason.
This is gonna be a huge noob question, but how exactly does the process work? They should have a huge budget to do whatever it is they want to do. With their staff and budget, why shouldn't everything be in the game and some?
Even if you have as much money as blizzard, there is still only 24 hours in each day. The overall process of getting a thing into a game can take anywhere from a couple weeks to 3 months depending on how much existing stuff you are re-using. You can see this process in full force if you watch the Design-A-Legendary casts. There was clearly some time budgeted to make a new item model and some time for design, but none for other things (extra animations, summons models, sounds etc).

    Yes.

It is named Diablo and the game is fun. That's all that really matters. If you're waiting with your breath held for always online to go away, you might want to exhale.

I prefer DS mainly because it gives me speed at demand, and gets me out of CC like Jailer.
This. It works both as a "get me to the killing NOW" and as an "OH SHIT" button. Selfishly, I also like that I can use it to grab chests that aren't right on my main path :P

I haven't really used Serenity at all yet (also leveling a new HC monk), and find that dashing strike seems to do the trick for now.

Love my monk even more now with the mobility improvements. I've always been a melee guy, and being able to zip around the battlefield is a ton of fun. First step with loot 2.0 is getting as much run speed as I can find.

The timer is in, but it only increases your chances at getting a drop. You seem to be running into RNGesus.

Ya, dinged 60 about half way through Act 2. Most of the last 15 levels was on Torment 2 or 1, but earlier on, Torment 5 was easy enough with some high level gems etc. The leveling sure did go fast!
Word. I'll have to give it a shot with my new monk (hardcore). Been playing on Hard, but even keeping up with crafted gear makes it rather easy. I'll have to bump it up and see how it works out.

I decided to make a new toon, to see how the leveling would go once the Crusader was released. This game has become a lot more fun on the leveling grind. Im currently level 45, havent even finished Act 1 yet. Its so nice to know that you dont have to replay the game over and over to get to level 60 anymore. Its fast, its fun, and its nice actually going slow and checking out every nook and cranny in each zone. It feels like the old diablo for once. Definitely loving this patch.....except for Odeg, F that guy!
45 levels in act 1? Say what?

posted a message on 2.0 finally here. What are your impressions thus far?
    Quote from Nausicaa

You now have to pick up MORE junk items... not LESS as was part of main points with Loot 2.0. Why more? Cause you now need to pick up ALL white AND blue items to get all crafting mats needed (and you will want to craft, asap). I did my old standard loot run through half of act 1. I usually almost fill half to all of my inventory on this run. With Loot 2.0 I filled it 5 times... WTF!
The materials themselves drop in pretty large quantities from Goblins, Chests, etc. Trying to get them from common items is probably counter-productive, and if you do pick them up, they DE into several pieces, not just one.

Oh, look, it's that thread again.

    http://www.diablofans.com/forums/diablo-iii-general-forums/diablo-iii-general-discussion/80961-what-location-would-you-recommend-to-farm-when-2-0

Here's what was mentioned in this ^^ thread:

    -Act 1
    -Act 2
    -Act 3
    -Act 4
    -Whimseyshire

    TL;DR: Everywhere. /thread

I'll never understand why people desperately search for reasons to neglect 90% of a game's content and prefer mind-numbing, rinse & repeat, 2 minute farming sessions in one area.

Do freaking campaign playthroughs. You'll never ever again see the campaign after March 26. Play the game for fun. Unless you're a robot I don't see a reason why anyone would prefer to farm one single area for days and days and days instead of switching to different acts.
Fun > Efficiency. I love doing campaign playthroughs with the progress-reset function. It makes them really really rewarding EXP wise.

I noticed this on the PTR, but it bears repeating here now for the live version: I'm a huge fan of rare/elite/champions popping up anywhere and everywhere. This combined with the new drop systems also means that characters that are leveling up have a similar loot/progression experience as they do at max level. It makes the game feel much more consistent rather than "leveling up" and "end game".

The ability to move the difficulty around lets you tweak the game until it is the perfect difficulty for you/your hero. Overall, great job by Blizzard.

posted a message on Are you keeping your main hero or switching?
My original main was a monk that I sort of abandoned. This was partly due to Vanilla D3/AH exaustion and partly because I wanted to get into Hardcore (where I play a Witch Doctor and Barbarian). I'll probably start a new monk, hardcore, and get it leveled to 60 between now and Launch. That being said, I don't consider any of my characters a main anymore, hardcore will do that.
