How is finding runestones to increasing the power of your skills different from finding items with +rune affixes to do the same thing?
Rank 1 & 2 runes were available throughout Normal, so it probably wouldn't be hard to have all the rune effects for all the skills in the game by the time you reach Hell. All that would be left for you to do is find higher-ranked Runestones, which isn't really different from finding the right item with the appropriate +rune affix.
As for your concerns about difficulty, it's only the beta...which is the first part of Act 1 of NORMAL. It's SUPPOSED to be D3's equivalent of a tutorial. If you still don't 'get' that by this point, then, well, I dunno.
I agree with your other points, though. There's definitely going to be less community interaction, but it's not a big a deal for me. I always planned on playing with my friends, and that was the way it was for me with D2 as well.
The new UI *is* a little clunky, and I'm surprised that that's what Blizzard is rolling with at the moment. Customisation, however, is going to be big in D3. I think that it's definitely going to be bigger than in D2. And I don't get your point about having nothing to do after you 'beat' Inferno. How is that any different from D2? You'll always be chasing after that best possible gear, and it'll take quite a long time, don't worry.
They never said there was going to be +rune affixes.
I cant say much cuz i still havent a beta key to try the game itself BUT from what i've been watching (and thats been ALOT ever since the beta has gone out) the game keeps getting better and better.
Of course blizzard cant please everyone, there'll be always someone who to complain, even if in the end you'll all buy the game (which is something to remember, did blizzard ever let us down with their games ?)
All i ask is to trust blizzard, sure keep posting what you arent liking and what you like on their forums so they can adjust the best game they can, but dont keep trying to revive D2, it was an amazing game, now let it go, if you go back you would see how different D1 is from D2, same will happen with D3, blizzard wont do another 'call of duty' game, changes will happen.
Also, we shouldnt judge the game, i see people calling D3 an easy game, WHEN was D2 hard again ? have you played the game ? at least we are SURE that the end game in D3 will be at least harder than D2's....which is another thing to add, we havent seen anything from the game, you dont even know what surprises Bliz has for us, so trust them.
There have been a lot of interesting points of view and arguments for and against with the changes. Currently I dont have Beta and cant comment on how it was or is but im doing my best to keep up with the Blue posts and Beta players comments. What I do take comfort in is if a large % of players feel the same as the OP the one saving grace is that Blizzard listens. There have been a few changes they have made due to the community putting ample pressure on them. Not that they will revoke these changes they may make it a tad more to the community liking if there is enough pressure.
I hope to get a Beta invite so I can post my feelings from playing it but from what I have seen and read about it, I feel its a good move.

You're right... It was just being.. built into the game for like two months before they took it out because it was terrible? Not including the rest of the un-attuned system where the rune gets bound to a specific skill upon identification... Get your facts straight holmes.
I already have my CE pre-ordered. But if the game still doesn't have released date by 2012. January 2013 I'll cancel it. I'm getting tired and old being hyped by the game. Maybe if I get a beta key, I'll consider not cancelling on 2013.
To be honest I wasn't that excited in the first place, probably cos the game seemed so far away.
Now, with each passing day, I can't help but to think of it more and more. I bet that, in the end, I'll quit my job to grind the game senseless.
After I'm done with Diablo 3, Blizzard will feel cheap and used.
sigh another baseless QQ thread about things that have been argued over a billion times. why try and convince him otherwise? everyone stop posting huge paragraphs. hes just a negative nancy that wont ever agree with anything because hes afraid of change.
I am afraid of change. Changes that make the game less desirable. I want this to be the game I play for years, not months.
I am still excited about some things. Getting to actually try the runed skills out was sweet, but the method on which you get to choose them is bogus. Believe it or not I play the beta everyday. I've been farming the best gear I can get just to see what kind of numbers I can put out at level 13.
The other thing I am excited about is Inferno mode. I can't wait for the challenge. I just fear that the lack of "over the top" customization won't keep me playing inferno that long after I can beat it. The replay value of making different builds is gone, especially with the way runes unlock from level 6 through 51+. It's almost like, once you have leveled one class up fully once, you kinda try out every build in the process.
Plus I have this feeling, the same one I had while waiting and watching for Dungeon Siege 3... they changed the game so much just so it can survive on Console that the PC version was trash and so dumbed down that it flopped.
Stop playing the beta if every patch just makes you more and more upset. Wait for the release and then start playing as it is. Just play the game and keep in mind this is how betas work..
Things appear,
Things happen,
Things change,
Things come back,
Things go away again..,
This is how they make the game perfect, it may not be perfect to you but they are going with te majority and the best intrest of the people. They need to make it looking good and feeling good for everyone which is difficult you can only imagine trying to make it likeable by a 10 year old and a 25 year old. So just remember and dont beat yourself up over it, you will like something and then its gone the next. Either play when it comes out or accept that things will come and go.
I admit that I have lost some interest in D3 over the last few months of waiting... for something to happen.
But it's mostly due to the fact that there are no games out that I am interested in to keep me busy... I'm pretty much waiting on D3 and GW2 to release, everything else seems to be filler. Still trying to score a beta key also... which would probably boost my morale for D3
It's a waiting game, and sometimes you get tired... But when the wait is over, i'll love it all, I know it.
I'm feeling D3 more than ever. But, my opinion of Bliz has changed dramatically over the past 12 months. It seems to me like they need some new blood in the management ranks and an overhaul to their development process.
I don't have a problem with all the changes. In fact I agree with almost all of them. Its just that the changes should have been implemented years ago.

And the problem with people like you that just love all the changes is either you love it cuse you get to play something new in beta (lame excuse) or you don't have the ability to think beyond your normal play through before you call it quits.
The people who are not happy with these changes are those that will be spending a majority of their game time in the level capped 60 Inferno difficulty. These changes do not bode well for end game longevity. This is why people are upset.
this is a d3 fan site. no one who is here "isnt feeling D3 anymore". otherwise they would no longer be coming to a D3 fan site.
Pretty much this..If you aren't "feeling D3" why are you here? Go play another game. But, you watch, when a release date comes out, EVERYONE will be all happy happy joy joy and kissing Blizzard's ass again like nothing happened.
Hmm, on my part it's not so much as not feeling D3 as it is being cautious with my take on it. With so many changes they've been applying to the game, I'm afraid that they might throw out some core mechanic (rather than changing it up as they have been now) with good intentions that might result with heavy negative outcomes.
I actually have not been as enthusiastic about D3 when they announced the RMAH. However, will I still buy the game? For sure.
