    That was my first assumption, but I wasn't sure because of the lack of useful properties that were affixed on all the wizard items i had found.

    So I finally started playing through the Wizard in the beta and I'm mad confused about weapon choices. I know the spells are based off of weapon damage, but in general it seems like using a melee weapon seems to out DPS wand&orb? Maybe it's because I don't have a good sample size but can anyone explain the weapon selections for the wizard (based on what we know so far of course)

    Thanks for the tip jfurrer! I'll try it out when I have time and post again with results

    Edit: So I've tried playing this weekend and I haven't encountered any of the problems I've had originally so I'm going to assume that the issue has been resolved?

    Not sure if this is the proper forum (if it isn't, please feel free to move it to the correct one!), but I've been having FPS issues while running D3 on my Macbook Pro. Dropped all the settings to low, and I've been getting bombed with framerate drops if there are more than 2 things on the screen. Anyone else know a fix to this problem?

    Hmm, on my part it's not so much as not feeling D3 as it is being cautious with my take on it. With so many changes they've been applying to the game, I'm afraid that they might throw out some core mechanic (rather than changing it up as they have been now) with good intentions that might result with heavy negative outcomes.

    I actually have not been as enthusiastic about D3 when they announced the RMAH. However, will I still buy the game? For sure.

    Although I like the idea of not having to hunt down every rune from such a large list of items, I, like everyone else, enjoyed the idea of runes being, well, an item. To me, it feels like they had taken away that feeling of excitement when you find the rune you are looking for. Also, the thing that bugs me the most is that its now just something you unlock through levels. I personally feel like they could have implemented this in a better way, rather than handing out runes like candy when you level up. Runes should have been a reward for something, not just a handout :/

    I posted this in another, similar topic, but for me, the monk will be my first character. I've always had a preference for fast hitting, but weak attacks (monk) over slow, & powerful attacks (barb). From what I've seen, love the playstyle so far!

    posted a message on Solo Monk Build
    The build I plan on using is pretty similar, except I replaced Exploding Palm with Manta of Regeneration with an Alabaster rune. The bonus resistance is too good to pass up (Though I did notice that I put both One with Everything and the runed resistance mantra...I should switch something out!). I also have Breath of Heaven for more heals :D Can't have too many heals available, you know?

    Monk. Been enamored with the monk ever since they announced the class, and with each video, I get more and more excited for it. quick hitting skills, comboing, and mobility? Yes please :D
    Think after I would go either Barb or Wizard. Prolly play Witch Doctor last, simply because I don't like the playstyle :/

    I agree that Near Death would prolly have some problems in PvP. It seems pretty obvious that some people are going to cry OP about this passive. Just from the fact that your spirit is also restored, I feel that you can just go "Oh, I died. Let's wait for Near Death to kick in then just heal back up using Breath of Heaven, Transcendence, and Mantra of Healing." Of course, I'm not really aware of the exact numbers of those skills, or how they synergize with each other, so I may be completely wrong :/

    PvE, on the other hand, doesn't seem to hold that many problems. Sure it will probably end up as a crutch for many new players in Normal, and maybe Nightmare, but I feel that in the higher difficulties it won't help out that much, especially if Inferno is what Blizz is making it out to be

    Does studying for exams count? I mean, school takes up most of my time so.... Other than that, I guess playing LoL and some Bloodline Champions :/ Might pick up Torchlight 2 during the interim if it comes out fast enough.

    I haven't done any of the math (nor am I up to date on any of the mechanics, and most of the skills I might add), but I think I will end up going with dual wielding. Like others said, dual wielding = more spirit regeneration, and for now, I personally plan on going a heavy DPS build (but again, haven't done any of the math)

    Pure damage build for me! I feel like compared to the paladin, the monk has more DPS potential, but then again, I never really did a complete pally so I wouldn't know what I'm talking about :/

    But then again, with the skill swapping feature, I could just switch my builds around as needed
