Thnx for the info, but i adjusted already a few gear items, still learning how to improve everything overall.

have to learn how this D3UP works atm im very confused.

Hi Kakascii, as I said on the private conversation, I'm going to post some tips for using D3UP here, so you can move by yourself.

The main function of D3UP for you at the moment is the Simulate Gear tab. So, you click on the "Gear Button" and them on the "Simulate Gear" button:

Them you select the item you want to simulate:

D3UP will open a window for you with YOUR gear stats:

Select the stats you want to simulate. On the below simulation I changed your Ring for mine, by adding the Minimum-Maximum Damage of my ring, changing the Dexterity value and removing the Critical Hit Damage of your ring. And D3UP simulated what happened with your stats:

Let's run an analysis line by line:

Dexterity: You would lose 1 point.
Vitality: You would lose 91 points, roughly 9% of your Vitality.
Critical Hit Damage: You would lose 30.
    Minimum Damage: You would gain 12 (55% more);
    Life Regen: You would gain 42 more HP / second;

DPS: Huge loss of 4.5kDPS. This is one of the most important stats.

Max Damage: You would gain 56.
    HP: You would lose 4.3kHP, the same 9% you lost with Vitality (there's a direct connection between Vit and HP);
EHP (Effective Hit Points): Also a big loss, 19kEHP.

For me the most important items are DPS and EHP. You would lose both if you changed your ring for mine. So, it's not a good choice.

You can simulate one item at a time or several changes. And at the end, D3UP gives you this nice summary view of your stats. But if you click again on the "Simulate Gear" button after you ran all the simulations, D3UP uses the new simulated gear to generate its tabs/status, so you can see the impact of all the changes you've made.

This is very useful when deciding to buy an expensive item.

^^ That's strange, I have about the same as you, only 2 more APoC, and I never run out of AP... I did not try to run an uber, but I could manage to kill Ghom on MP5 without problems.
(although I had to use 1 potion before killing him)

How is it with lower LS from a 1hnded weapon? I stand in plague, desecration and pound on reflective mobs if I have a decent amount of mobs on my screen. Disclaimer, I have teleport on the thumb button on my mouse. When the mobs die, I have to hit teleport REAL flippin’ fast or I die IN STANT LEE!!!(insert Jamaican accent).

I'm using 3% on wand plus 1.5% from Magic Weapon. It's working fine with my DPS (about 125~130 kDPS unbuffed). So far, no problems. I don't like to kite, so I'm standing still, channeling and not dying.

Good stuff. I also sometimes switch RoF to Disintegrate, but I prefer Chaos Nexus. It's a nice change of pace.

You nailed it. I said Volatility, but I really use Chaos Nexus... My fault... :) LASERS, LASERS EVERYWHERE!!!

18 APoC and didnt worked for me , sadface ... does rubberbanding prevent u from procing APoC ? i dont see any AP spikes

^^ I actually had some rubberbanding issues last night, but that did not made my APoC suffer. I'm playing with a bad ping of about 350~400ms (Net Virtua).

How much Critical Chance you had when playing with 18 APoC ? Your current gear has 47.5% Critical Chance, that should be enough.

EDIT to add the quote, since I'm on a new page. :)

Following Maka's inspiration, I've got some cheap Tal Rasha's with 10 APoC + 10 APoC on stormcrow, mixed some Life Steal Wand + Magic Weapon (blood magic), put all together with guide-chun-lis-starfighter-death-blossom-build and changed Black Ice to my favorite spell: Disintegrate / Volatility and voilá: It worked like a charm to me.

But the point is: With 20 APoC and 46% Critical Chance, it's very possible to sustain the Black Ice build with an Off Hand and a Wand. I've never ran out of Arcane Power on MP5 runs with my current gear.

I can see some soft spots on your armory, that could improve a lot spending not so much.

Your Andariel's Visage can improve on attack speed and fire damage taken (9% and 5% in this order).

You do have very nice boots, stick with them. :) But the Nat's Ring is not that good. I got one on my dh you can use as a reference for greater DPS. (My check on D3UP tells me you loose 12k EHP, but gain 6KDPS, so you could search for one with AllRes and Vit also).

If you change your Ruby Gem from yout Manticore to another Emerald Gem, you'll gain another 1.5KDPS. If you can change your manticore for a bigger one (1200+DPS plus 2 sockets) that would be a great improvement also.

I like your shoulders, bracers, boots, Withching Hour and Dead Man's Legacy. I don't think you should mess with them by now. Focus on the Helm, Ring and Manticore (gems or new weapon).

And please use an online calculator like D3UP to simulate gains. You are on the mid-mid-upper tier of gear, so any move is expensive and must be thought through.

    Hi Magus,

I noticed you got some "mildly" expensive gear, like the Tals Amulet, Strongarm Bracers and Depth Diggers... So, my question is about cost: how much (give or take) did you spend on your gear ?

I think the build is nice, and I think I'll try it later, but I'm feeling a little disapointed with my Wiz right now. I don't like CMWW much (it hurts my hand badly) and archon on higher MP's are just expensive.

Also, by my math, you have about 14 AP/sec, and spends 16 AP/sec using Ray of Frost. That means spending about 2/sec, and if you throw any blizzard, it means you have about 50 secs to spam it before running out of AP.

How much kiting you have to do with this build ?

    Thanks! And congratulations again!

(edit: I just saw you have reduced cost to blizzard)

So squishy... 227kdps and only 151k EHP.

Are you able to run anywhere past MP4 with this gear/build ?

What are you aiming ? More DPS or more EHP ? Are you dying a lot ? Do you want to do ubbers on high MP ?

Let us know your goals, it'll be easier to counsel.

Wiz, with enough DPS, MagiWeapon / Blood Magic is enough. I particularly am fond of the "one bigger upgrade" rather several small ones, unless the small ones are really cheap (1~2 mil).

All of your gear can have changes. Your build is good, but your gear does not help your build. For instance: Shock Pulse + Living Lighting is very effective with high attack speed and critical chance. You have a fairly good amount of critical chance (on the 40ish), but lacks attack speed.

Your Tyrael Might lacks "Damage to Demons". That's what you should look on those plate.

Your Andariels Visage takes much fire damage (more than 10%).

With your current gear, I'd stay on MP1, and would not think of buying a Buriza right now. A Buriza would help you more on higher MP's, on lower MP with 150k DPS you can blast through everyone without the need to freeze them.

For Archon you want to stock Int, Critical Chance, Critical Damage. On higher-end gear, you'll need to stock attack speed also, to help you eliminate archon's cooldown.

Take a look at my wizard: The plate, chest and boots were inexpensive (I bought them for less than 10mil all, on US servers), and they helped my EHP a lot. Than you can focus your other gear on DPS.

My 2 cents. Jaetch, Loroese and Bagstone are better on advice then me. :)

I like this build. I use a variation with Bola Shot + Stun instead of grenades, and your EHP effectively doubles when you pop Gloom + Sentry.

And if you can drop perfectionist in favor of Custom Engineering, it render a good amount of DPS as you spam more mines and more Sentries.

It's pretty tanky, and works well.

    Nice post, OP!
