posted a message on Stacking Elite DMG - Barb
How can you calculate legs/hour when the single largest factor behind kill speed is magic find? Paragon 100 with 100m gear is going to find more L/H than a 300m gear set up at P0 if they are both killing trash mobs in 1 rend.

You should be less fixated on actual counts (which fluctuate with many uncontrollable variables) and more on kill speed.

[edit] also, stop being a dick. If you can't keep your posts civilized and mature, you're going to have a hard time here. I'd suggest you go back to the official forums if you just want to trollol

posted a message on DiaBro3 - find your Optimized MP Level, and a quick gear analysis
It would be interesting if you could show a break down of how your algorithm determines the mp or gear quality level. It's good to know that I need to replace my shoulders, but knowing what stats would result in a higher score would help considerably. Same thing with MP level. Did my dps match up but not my defense? etc.

posted a message on What makes you AFK from Diablo 3
Are you talking about why you are in game and get called away, or why you stopped playing diablo 3 altogether?

    I'll answer both:
AFK-Typically it's my kids or the stupid roofer door to door salesmen (big hail storm rolled through a couple months back and totaled everyone's roof in my neighborhood). Sometimes it's just liquid (dropping off or cracking a new one).

Playing Diablo less - I know the game is about gear grind, and typically that's enough for me, but I'm pretty sure that EVERYONE has far surpassed the point where a real drop is going to be an upgrade. The economy is so messed up and I know everyone blames the AH, but really I think that Bliz just missed the point. Having a game SOLELY based on gear grind just doesn't work anymore. The genre has been beat to death. There needs to be either something else to do or more dynamically created content. The whole Uber thing I thought was just absolutely amazing. When I first heard about it, the whole process seemed horribly tough (and I think it still is for some players) but I think that was part of the draw. I was playing around mp3 at the time which made the odds of getting a key at 30% (x4) and then ubers at 30% (x3) just to make one ring meant killing roughly 450 elites and then that ring invariably sucked :) I think anyone who's wanted a serious ring has made it to mp10 by now and has already mowed through enough content where I doubt any real players are doing ubers anymore unless they are doing charity mp10 carries or somehow trying to make money off it. Personally I can't wait for an endless dungeon.

TL;DR more end game content because the gear grind ended long ago.

posted a message on Self Founders UNITE
^ Hell as a whole is almost worthless. I typically leave Nightmare around 52 and when I powerlevel people on SC it takes like 10-15 mins to go from 52-60. It's entirely frustrating that the equipment from 50-59 is just absolutely terrible, but then on top of that, you have to go through the entire stupid game again before you can get to inferno where your drops can get better. I've tried the MP10 HC challenge, and self found and all that, but I find that MP10 self found becomes impossible about halfway through Nightmare, and self found mp0 in general is just so painful in Hell that it's not really "challenging" or fun, it's just annoying.

posted a message on New idea: Diablo II throwback.
^^ agree with Bagstone, PoE felt like a much better "sequel" to d2 than d3 did.

That said, I can't understand all the people who want the return of D2 :P
The play control, graphics, styling etc I think are all WAY better in D3 than D2 ever was. I think a lot of you are comparing a ten year development cycle in D2 to the less than 2 year old D3. There will be expansions and as Bliz has already proven, they're willing to make FREE patches that make significant changes and adds to the game. I've never played a single purchase game with this much support and free content.

posted a message on Gold seller spam friend requests
    Quote from Brake Failure

That however, seems like either an extreme exaggeration. Either that, or something is indeed wrong.

^This is exactly why I posted this here. I bet I get ten requests a day. I haven't logged in for like a week. I'm not sure if I'm being targeted for my participation on some website or they got my bnet ID somewhere or what. I don't like to just "ignore them" because I want to be able to see when I get legit friend requests and I don't believe in being a passive participant and just hoping someone else reports them for spam.

Does anyone know how they get your btag to send you a friend request? Do I need to stop participating in chat rooms?

posted a message on Gold seller spam friend requests
Is everyone else getting bombarded with friend requests from gold sellers? It seems like every time I sign in I have to spend the first 5 minutes reporting spam. It got so bad one time that I got logged out due to "too many actions" and all I was doing was reporting spam.

Why the heck aren't they doing anything about this? It seems to me that it should be fairly straightforward that if an account gets reported as spam by a certain threshold of people (5,10, whatever) that the game should automatically revoke any outstanding friend requests. I'm sick of wasting time on this and honestly sometimes I just don't bother logging in because I don't want to deal with it.

posted a message on Loot server still real?
I can't believe how many rude post responses were put up here. Obviously none of you played D2 when the news broke that there were certain servers that gave better loot. It's not unreasonable that the sequel (that was poorly implemented at best) might have some of the same issues. At the very least, the first negative response or two would have been enough to provide the information requested by the original poster.

Come on guys, lets not turn this into the official forums.

posted a message on End Game Tendency - Mass buying UNIDS
I love how people complain about the AH and yet right now I think there's more exchange going on via third party site (2B+, $250+, etc) or UNID through chat/etc. Everyone I've talked to that is buying massive amounts of UNID (at least in game) is reselling them for profit. UNID are the new commodity just like gems were. I don't think anyone is buying massive amounts of UNID to actually ID them.

posted a message on FoM: DH, 2Billion Damage Numbers. Screenshots and Video. Party Combo Build
    Quote from Wolf and Raven

Basically what happens is this. I cast EP on a mob A. When mob A dies it does damage to mob B based on its HP aye?

However if that damage kills mob B instead of merely damaging it, I multiply that kill damage to values as high as 2-3b on mob B.

M4D works this way, whatever damage that mob takes is dealt as an AOE in 20 yards. So therefore if the DH marks mob B, the effect will proc and you'll see a 20 yard wipe (very noticeable in large packs of trash)

I'm just going to add this because I was as confused as F and had to look it all up.

Sever's ability "Enemies rest in pieces" means that when the game sees that you are doing enough damage to kill an enemy, it replaces your last attack with a massive crit. The way this works with the party is that it doesn't matter who kills the first enemy, because the second enemy will be killed by the monk's EP. Since the monk is the source of the damage and the second enemy is going to die, Sever replaces the EP damage with a massive crit. If that enemy has Marked for Death: Grim Reaper on it, not only is the damage increased by 12% but it hits all of the mobs around it as well.

It's not hard at all to get that many if you help carry. I'm a good CM and I volunteer to assist with Uber carries on MP10 and I've probably made 150 of these things and I don't spend all day every day doing ubers

posted a message on IAS on Splinters - When is enough, enough !?
There is a lot of equipment that will stun or snare, but what most people go with is freeze. You can use the Azurewraith sword (albeit it has terrible dps) and there are amulets, belts, etc that have chance to freeze on them. There was a "popular" freeze build that worked with Acid Cloud that had way more chances to freeze because the damage was spread out over several "hits" that would all have a chance to trigger the freeze. Good luck, glad you're having fun.

PS I doubt there's any such thing as "too much IAS" as even if you get to a point where your animation is your limiting factor, the IAS still increases your paper DPS which is used for calculations for many abilities.

posted a message on CM to Archon: Making the switch, help a brother out
Don't have time to look over your specifics, but for my archon, the only thing I care about is DPS. I play on the MP where I can fry everything and have just enough ehp to take a hit or two from an elite. Getting into Inna's pants isn't as difficult to take the ehp loss as you would think as long as you aren't playing on a higher mp than you should be.
