posted a message on Do you have Season 4 Tips?

These are all great responses, and thank you.

Does anyone have a link to a website that has drop rate percentages for Grift keys for T1+?

It was also my experience that T1 is 3 mats while T10 is 4. I didn't do the breakdown in between, but T7 sounds right.

posted a message on Do you have Season 4 Tips?

Been out of the game for a while and have reviewed the patch notes, but as we all know, the patch notes never say it all. I've played the new patch just a little bit (got the cube, did a bounty in each act, etc) but it doesn't seem like much has really changed in this latest patch.

    Questions:

Does anyone have a chart of how many mats are in a cache on different difficulty levels? It seems like T1 gives you roughly the same amount of mats as T10. Are there any additional legendary bonuses beyond T6 like there are when you get to T1?

I see that all of my GR keys were converted to + keys, which are consumed when I enter a GR, right? How do I get more? What's the point of nephalim rifts now when you can pick your GR?

Does anyone have a good idea on what is going to be the next big deal in S4? It looks like my WW barb, Sentry DH, and Palm Monk are all T10 worthy already, so is there anything that would make me want to switch it up?

Just jump into a game. If someone complains, jump into another game. Honestly, T6 is such a joke right now that anyone who is playing regularly should be so geared that they don't even really notice if you're leeching or not. If you're really worried about being courteous about it, find a community for rifting and post in the chat that your'e looking to leech on T6. A lot of the high paragon people will be happy to have you along as long as you can keep up with them because of the multiplayer bonus.

posted a message on Common items you've never found?

I've been playing since release and have never seen a Wand of Woh. I played wiz for probably half that time until seasons started. This season I've found three furnaces and can't find the IK weapon (barb). I'm only paragon 300ish, but it's not a rare item as far as I know and I've been spending every blood shard for the last 200 levels on 2h weapons.

I don't think anyone is arguing that it's hard, it's just very tedious, time consuming, and most of all, not fun. In fact, I'd prefer if it were harder and they payoff was better. I really like the idea of having a fixed level grift for each of the ubers culminating in a guaranteed piece.

Oh, one more thing with multiplayer, hopefully you're aware of the Town Portal trick. When you use the keyboard short cut to go back to town (or the blue vagina button on the screen) then you get that portal in town so that you can tp back to where you were, right? (we'll call this the way-back portal) Obviously, everyone knows that. What you may not know is that this portal only appears when you go to town using one of those methods. If you use the world map and click on the town you want to teleport to, it does NOT create a way back portal, and (here's the kicker) if you had one already, it doesn't overwrite it.

The way you can take advantage of this is that if you are searching Act 1 and don't want to lose your spot, you can TP back to town using one of the methods that gives you a way back portal, then teleport to someone (who just found a key), pick up your key, then use the MAP to TP back to town, and then use your way back portal to go right back to where you left off searching. This trick helps tremendously when farming keys. The people searching acts 3 and 4 almost always finish before acts 1 and 2, so they will "Save" their wayback portal to the key location and come to a1/2 to help search. Then when all the wardens are dead, they can zip back to where their key was so that everyone can pick it up.

There are a lot of good things they could do to make this experience a little more tolerable. Before I get in to them, just a couple of tips on farming that may seem obvious, maybe not:

Sure, Swiftmount is "conformity for the sake of whatever you said" but honestly would you rather be cool to yourself or save yourself hours over the course your game play? Do you use your Paragon points for movement speed? Cuz that's so trendy right now, omg. ;) Anyway: Swiftmount with Steed/Endurance is the only way to farm these keys for Crusader. You zip across the map in a zig-zag pattern, and if you've covered 80% of the map and haven't found the KW? Reload. Starting a new game and finding the KW in a new game on the A1/A2 maps is far faster over the long haul than spending so much time exploring the edges of the map.

Multiplayer is kind of how the keys were designed to be farmed and used. I know your pain with multiplayer, trust me I do. If it were anywhere close to as efficient to do this solo, I would be right there with you. Find a community devoted to split key farming. The players in there are much better than the pub games. Anyways, the benefit of this is that when you farm for a key, you're only farming 1 act. If you're in act 1 and the key drops in act 2 with someone else, you can go to them and pick up the key too. So instead of farming 4 acts, you're only farming 1. That's a 75% decrease in farming time right there. But it gets better. You need 4 keys to make a machine, 16 in total for 4 machines for 1 chance at an amulet. With a group of four, you only need 4 keys personally to have a chance at 1 amulet. That's a 75% increase there too. Trust me, I understand your pains on multiplayer, but for HF amulet farming, it is literally stupid not to do it with a good group. Instead of spending multiple days for 1 chance, you spend less than an hour.

On to my personal thoughts on how Bliz can make this experience better for us, In no particular order:

Have the keywarden show up on the map like the Rift Guardians do. You can't see them from across the map, but if you're running through quickly and miss them or if you are close to them, this would be a godsend.

Have the chat tell you when a key dropped. This should be easy as they already tell you that so-and-so killed the keywarden.

Put the dang key on the map. A quick icon like the legendary icons would be wonderful.

Ubers are too easy. If you're going to gear the game around RG35-40 then ubers at T6 are a joke. They aren't even fun, they just blow up. It's a non-event at this point.

Too many amulets are garbage. As someone said above, a guaranteed base stat and socket would go a long way.

If you aren't going to focus on making this experience better (because it's old and they want to focus on new) then give us a new BiS amulet. The only reason people are still doing these is because there's that 0.05% chance of getting something that's truly BiS.

posted a message on About the breakpoints...

I'm gonna be a bit of a dick here, but there is a website with a breakpoint calculator... I just don't recall the URL :( If I can find it, I'll come back here and post it.

<edit> quick google search here http://whirlwinner.herokuapp.com/

This isn't as nice as the one I saw earlier, but it appears to work. It will only recalculate on a refocus, so if you type in a number, you have to tab out of the field for it to calculate. It doesn't explain breakpoints at all, just calculates, so meh

posted a message on Leveling in Season 3?

If you're going solo, find a group. XP bonus is nice but clear time is much faster. Always set your difficulty to the spot where you can basically one shot everything, then hit high density areas only such as Halls 1, and do very easy/fast bounties. There are a lot of very fast bounties in small areas in Act 1 and 2 especially (avoid A3 and A5 like the plague). The bounties that require you to clear out the second level of a dungeon can be very fast if you build around mobility and are very familiar with the map. The XP bonus from these bounties make up for the extra time it takes to find them. Some people are going to tell you to do rifts because of the mob density (and they aren't wrong) but I think bounties are faster due to the bonus xp.

@Sauc3ry: Generally posting a video link with no description doesn't fly around here. If you don't want mods to remove your post, you should type up your guide here as well. We will click on your link if your information is interesting. BTW, You pronounced it "Die-ah-blow" so I can't take the rest of it seriousl ;).

@Demonmonger: Getting to adventure mode isn't that hard. Do you recall and official source on not having adventure mode open? I recall seeing that they were thinking about it, but not anything serious about doing it.

This is NOT a bug. The reason that these rares do not smash is because they are account bound. Just like anything you enchant, these items are not intended to be auto smashed. When you auto smash, it will also not smash anything you have equipped or have a gem socketed into.

posted a message on To Gift or not to Gift??

I'm gonna say two things here and not give you an opinion, so I'm sorry for that:

    a) Holding on to a gift to wait for another one is almost always a losing proposition. If you use your gift now, that should allow you to farm better/faster which increases your liklihood of getting another one. In any case, they drop so infrequently that losing out on that DPS upgrade for so long is just compounded even worse.

    2) Your cold damage on your bow does not matter. The % bonus you get to cold skills does not affect your cold weapon damage. In other words, a bow with fire dmg and a bow with cold dmg will do the same dmg, even with cold bonus. Also, because of the burst damage from Cluster Arrow, you need to concentrate less on your paper or weapon dps and more on the actual damage on the weapon. Your weapon here tops out at 1800 which is decent for an ancient 2h bow, but what you want to be looking for and using is a 2h Crossbow. The crossbow base damage can get up past 1900 which means that each of your individual cluster arrows will do more damage, even if your paper dps is lower. The reason being is that your paper dps and weapon dps assume that you can attack at your attack rate (1.4 on that weapon) consistently, and anyone who uses DH can tell you, you can't cluster arrow at 1.4 the entire time you're playing. This is why you see so many people rolling Arcane Barbs from the blacksmith.

All that said-If you are going to stick with an Ice build, you probably want an Etrayu. If you want to look in to Fire/Physical (which are the better group/high grift builds) then a 2h crossbow is the way to go, but Etrayu can have 20% cold damage on it, which should make up for the difference in base damage between the two types of weapons.

posted a message on Sifting through items without picking them up

Once you hit 70, you shouldn't need to use anything other than legendaries. The end game players either don't pick up the other types or if they do, they pick them up and just smash them all.

posted a message on Ancient Marauders Gloves Reroll

^this. It depends on your mitigation. Failed is right too tho, you're going to want to keep looking so you can get those stats. In the meantime, if you have 11-13M toughness and aren't doing G40+ then reroll Vit. If you have less than 10M and/or want to be able to do high grifts solo, then you should probably reroll the area dmg.

If it were me, I would reroll the are dmg anyway cuz it's kinda useless.
