    Quote from GaborSz

Many pro wizard use Audicty instead if Unwavering will, but i do not understand why. Audicity gives 15% dmg within 15 yards, which is extremly small.
You need to be very close to your target to have all 3 missiles hit it (assuming MB, of course), making Audacity a viable choice, especially if you're moving around a lot.

To OP: What build are you actually playing? Arcane or Fire?
Right now, I'm playing fire, and using Ice Climbers with it.

I'm trying to gear for an arcane build, though, to try Vyr + Tal + MLW, which is where the Vyr boots/IC comparison kicks in.

Still gathering gear, right now I have the Blackthornes bonus and Ice Climbers.... :D

I've never managed to fit the 4p BT bonus (with RoRG) in any build. Too much dps and toughness loss for mostly avoidable effects - which, in a way, loops back to my original question :-)

Thanks for the advice, I'll start pestering Kadala for boots, then!

Ice Climbers are very comfortable, but I might have been relying on them a bit too much :)

posted a message on Ice Climbers vs Vyr's
Hi, fellow wizards. Like many, I am in the process of gathering the Vyr and Tal sets for an archon build.

I currently have all Tal pieces and Vyr legs/gloves, and I've been looking for Vyr's chest (without much luck) instead of the boots, because I didn't want to let go of my Ice Climbers.

Has anyone made the jump from Ice Climbers to Vyr's? How have you dealt with the loss of freeze/jail immunity?

I've been somewhat unlucky with that ring when farming it with my wizard, got it on the 120th act 1 cache.

Did a couple dozen more runs since then, haven't found another yet.

toughness and EHP aren't good measurements

While I agree with you on that point, I believe that toughness + hp can provide a quick and reasonably efficient comparison, which is especially useful for players who haven't had an in-depth look at the system already.

Obviously, it won't include elite/melee/ranged reduction or specific affixes like 4p BT/Ice Climbers, but it's a step in the right direction, and it makes the difference between 10M toughness with 500k hp and 10M toughness with 250k hp pretty clear :)

You've already got 82% fire damage, I'd definitely go for the TF with a +%dmg reroll. You can easily get it over 2300 dps, 15% more raw dps than your axe, to which you add the lightning proc.

    Quote from ruksak
It is kinda nice. However, I think the standard drop rate would be fine IF there weren't so many "empty" Legendaries (glorified rares as they've come to be known). The scarcity of impactful Legendary items with true legendary affixes are too far between.

Essentially; I don't think it's the rate, per say, rather it's the high percentage of dysfunctional loot that's the culprit here.
Definitely too many empty legendaries, and too few impactful ones, which in turns means everyone's looking for the same items (TF, SoH, and a bare handful of class-specific weapons).

That has been answered several times already. No, bonuses to the Disintegrate skill do not apply to Archon, since Archon uses a different skill.

posted a message on Best Build to take advantage of Vyr's set?
I would like to know that as well. Currently running full fire, I'm only missing one Vyr piece to get the 4p bonus, and I've been looking at possible ways to gear (all including RoRG) :

    - 3p Vyr + 3p Tal + MLW, arcane build : nice way to get the meteor procs, but I feel that 4p Tal is a bit underwhelming, and I'd lose a lot on CDR
    - 3p Vyr + 2p Born + 2p Crimson + MLW, arcane build : forces me to use Born's sword instead of a Go

Is anyone running successfully a fire archon/CDR build?

And yet "Arcane Orb" can be Arcane, Lightning, Fire and Cold.
If they can do that, they can make Disintegrate and Arcane Torrent have a couple of different elements.
Good point. It feels like they've changed their design recently to open new skills/elements combinations, but didn't want to touch the old ones that were already varied.

But then, why not change Disintegrate and Arcane Torrent runes as well? Two similar spells, both fully arcane.
Their design philosophy seems to be that element-typed runes are only possible when the base skill doesn't include an element description.

Obviously, "Arcane" Torrent remains Arcane, and just as obviously, they've themed Blizzard as a frost spell. For the Crusader, Heaven's Fury is described as a holy spell, and all runes remain holy.

Following that idea, though, Disintegrate should be able to get different elements from runes, but I guess it's too much a staple of arcane builds.

Its not a nerf per say, it just makes Mirrorball/fire builds even more powerfull and I suspect they will then trump over arcane builds
Yeah, definitely. I'm using MM/Black Hole as active skills, toyed with both fire Meteors and both fire Hydras, but all of them felt lackluster, so I went back to Familiar. Now I can replace that with fire Archon and never look back :)
