Etrayu gets +15-20% cold skill damage as well as weapon damage. It's good for cold builds.
Duh. Somehow never noticed that affix
Thank you all for your advice, I'll stick with the Manticore for now (though I'll probably reroll the resource reduction on the krider just to see how the gameplay feels).
As Bagstone pointed out, they might have gone a bit too far. I'll farm a couple good RoRG and illusory boots/gloves of worship, but I expect the drop rate will be nerfed sooner rather than later.
Your Devil Tongue is solid. For a mostly physical pet build like yours, a Doombringer could be good as well, because of the +phys damage, but it'd need to have solid base damage to be better than what you've already got. SMK is build for a pet build because it basically allows you to spam BBV, which is just awesome. Rhen'ho is very good for crowd control at higher levels with the poison rune, or for additional damage if you're playing fire.
You've got a good MoJ, TNT, TMF, and SoJ, so basically you're all set. Honestly, I wouldn't touch your weapon right now, just replace your helltooth/jade items with something that's actually useful, like Aughild's and/or Asheara for survivability if you need it, or specific items like Ice Climbers and Hexing Pants.

How do you not see rolling off a socket, just to add a socket as counter-intuitive?
Windows > Start > Shutdown. Yeah, sorry
More to the point, while RG will be a very sought-after item, and one that I'm itching to get my hands upon, it remains a band-aid. The problem is that no weapon without a socketed emerald can even be considered, which effectively means a fair number of all weapon drops are just salvage candidates. Until they fix the root cause, every thing else they introduce will just displace the problem, not solve it.
It wouldn't go away, because both Conflag's and Firebird's DOTs are refreshed by ANY fire damage, so basically you can throw 1 MM without Mirrorball - and both DOTs will never expire, since they refresh each other, while Firebird's one gets progressively stronger.
That's just awesome ... but unfortunately, I doubt that it's intended, which means it will probably get fixed.
Firebirds (Source, helm, chest, boots, gloves) Aughilds (shoulders, bracers), Captain Crimsons (Legs, belt). Did this because firebirds shoulders are awfully rolled, Don't know if it would work in greater rifts really, haven't tried it yet due to all disconnects from PTR I've been getting.
I'm not quite sure I'm ready to drop MM, I'll have to try, but I plan on trying this first :
- Firebird : helm, shoulders, chest, gloves, boots
- Crimson's : legs, belt
- Strongarm bracers
- Mirrorball
Only downside is the lower survivability because no Aughild's.
You guys aren't thinking about the true reason for the nerf. MM/conflag combo with 6 piece Firebird = face roll T6. The new firebird set allows you to stack up to 3000% fire damage. And when you reach 3000% the enemy just gets 1 shot. combine that with a piercing capability and Mirrorball. You will have the strongest build in the game. This nerf to to balance the firebird buff coming in patch 2.1
MM unlimited stacking was slightly overpowered for rift bosses. Not overpowered in the sense that no other class can compete (some easily outperform MM/conflag), but overpowered for a spammable, free spell.
As is often the case with Blizzard, the main problem is that a build gets nerfed without a viable alternative, as all our fire spenders are still lackluster.
MM/Conflag will remain a very good filler, but no longer a main source of damage, so we'll have to find viable alternatives. I can see EB (with Woh) + Black Hole working very well up to a certain point, especially with the huge EB buff in the last build, but toughness will be a problem very quickly. Hydra with Serpent Sparker seems to work quite well right now, but the damage doesn't proc the new Firebird 6p, I hope that's a bug. I'm not sure Meteor will be viable in a pure fire build, especially w/o the Tal bonus.
It feels to me on the ptr that they increased the range certain pets can attack from (gargantuan, big dog) so those always seem to be on your main target the majority of the time.
I seem to remember Blizzard stating that they would reduce the collision hitbox on our pets, meaning you could stack more of them around a single enemy.
It's nice to see they're addressing this but I'm hesitant to say it will be better than just running the superior non-set pieces like Cindercoat, Magefists, Andariel's Visage, Depth Diggers, Aughild's, etc. You are really giving up a ton of good stats to use some pretty bad pieces of gear (I mean dear god look at the shoulders..) just for the set bonus.. and that set bonus, at least on the surface, still does not look amazing. Realistically how often are you actually going to hit something enough to stack up to 3000% damage before it just dies anyway? I can see this being good for a grift build where you manage to max stack the dot on mobs with four trillion HP then go afk for a few hours until they die but for normal t6 rift farming and such I think it'll be preferable to just wear non-set pieces and one shot the mobs with magic missile.
How much dps do you have on your wiz? I admittedly don't have godly gear, but even when I go full fire/MM damage, I barely reach 20M with MM (and that's when all 3 missiles hit the target). Not quite enough to one-shot those 150M hp mobs, even with the conflagrate dot.
Regarding the ramp-up time, I think we can find ways to keep it at reasonable levels. For instance, with a woh, each cast will do 3840% weapon damage, which means that in 2 casts + MM spam in between, you should be able to reach the 9000%.
I also like the fact that it opens the way for hit-and-run tactics, which will be particularly well-suited to GRifts, since we don't need to stand around waiting for loot. I just hope we get a nice icon above the mobs which have reached the 9000% limit, so we know we can move on to the next pack.

It might be worth a shot replacing EA with DA and Depth Diggers, though. Still hoping I get a better weapon on which to use the gift
Also, what makes the Etrayu so interesting?

The bow isn't enchanted yet, so I could reroll either the socket or the resource reduction to damage, or just the damage range itself.

Coupled with the raw damage buff, that sounds just awesome for Woh users. What do you think?
