still salty about her behaviour with immortal and the lack of anything between us, her and blizz.
so.
still salty about her behaviour with immortal and the lack of anything between us, her and blizz.

hahaha, in your face everyone who said that those are the preliminary numbers and that blizzard will change this in the course of the ptr before releasing it with hugely inflated numbers!
but hey, they still seem to be excited about the turd they are giving out. and we have "multiple unannounced projects in the work (trademark pending)".
Rather than looking at how much they're buffing classes, you should actually be looking at what they're not buffing: the strongest things in the game. They have done this time and time again over the years in D3 - it's absolutely nothing new, and not some kind of knee jerk reaction to placate people. This is just what they've always been doing.
When you look at those numbers, that's the best guess starting point to try and get those builds up to the same level as the best that currently exist. Akkarat, Rathma, Pestilence, Inarius, and Firebirds were all left unchanged with this patch. Just remember that this level of OP already exists in D3, but it's limited to far fewer playstyles. I'm fine with fixing that.
and why not bring the OP specs down? always going higher results in a lot of problem, nerfing only extracts tears from elitists.
sorry man, somehow your post is pretty unquotable without hacking into it.
1st off i want to lol at people that cant read.
We are taking another tuning pass across all class sets to improve class and set diversity at higher level Greater Rifts. Please note that these values are not final and we anticipate some adjts to occur during the course of PTR.
If you dont like the numbers its YOUR job to test them in the PTR and give your feedback, Not be oin here and bicth about it.
I for one love these updates, For a player who plays solo content and only rolls not meta builds these buffs are amazing. Tho the numbers are not set in stone i hope some of them stay like LoN. I have 3 builds that use that and the new change to PA's is nice.
At this point ill take anything i can get. There's nobody saying anything about " No more " or " last pacth " I expect more, Alot more.
Quote from Bladesinger»
I like the changes, wasn't expecting so big changes to be honest since D3 is on maintenance mode.
Most welcome.
big changes would be things with some kind of impact. new game mode with new rules, revamped mechanics like the paragon system, another option for your endgame other than bounty/rift/bounty. but that would mean that you'd have to open pandora's box with a lot of devs to try and take apart what the old crew left behind.
which i think isn't that far off. they guys who did the paragon system back in the day as some quick fix probably aren't there anymore. what with all the "changes" we see, it gives off the vibe that this game is rather closed to any devs currently working near it. sure, buffing things or implementing other small things might work. but just for adding the already existing necro as a playable character took them quite some money.
personally, i find most of 2.6.4 rather lazy just to put something out there.
what really grinds my gears is the view some people have of us as a passionate community. blizzard always creates with love. d1, hellfire, d2, lord of destruction, diablo 3. they were beautifully crafted games with sometimes flawed mechanics or gameplay systems. but those are things you can change.
the detail and style of the game you create with love and passion cannot be redeemed when you fuck them up for the release and no blizzard game came as a dirty scoundrel. sure, WoW evolved quite a bit but the rest of the games were and are beautiful. and so we (at least I) play the games with the same love and passion. i know that i rode the WoW train since before release and i ride it until the end. same with the other games from them. that just shows that i care for these games and in the matter of diablo, for this franchise.
we (again, at least I) love diablo. and we (you know it, I at the very least) defend it with what is available.
if the team fucks it up, i don't buy it. if necessary, i downvote their videos on youtube. if further necessary, i engage actively in calling out silence between community, CM and dev. i wasn't particular silent on these boards for the last two years, but i don't really hate the game. i hate the people who understaff the diablo team and who do stuff like diablo immortal and now this whatthefuck of a d4 rumour!
how can they try to pin it on difficult development? how can they really try to suggest that they went through two other directors? how can other blizzard departments pump out content patch after content patch and keeping their respective games fresh and diablo isn't able to achieve any further greatness? they fucked up a whole 20th anniversary chance to unveil the redeeming diablo 4 or at least a bombastic XP2 for d3.
but now we came to this. it is really, really bad and i just hope that any higher ups realize made mistakes.

Cheng: "One of the really, really exciting things about Diablo Immortal, we know from the outset we plan to expand over time. That’s not something we’ve done with a Diablo game before, where even before we ship we know we’re going to support it with live content updates.
OMG really? are you f'ing serious? "Expand"? "Support"? "Live content"? What about D2/3/4 expand/support?
No joke, with every interview I get more mad. I keep looking for something like "ok sorry we f'ed up, this is what we are going to do to fix it" but instead I find this crap like "yeah we glad we came up with that idea, now we are planing to waste time/human resorses/money to support it"
Not to mention in order to consume the content(lore) that will be uniqe for mobile, I need to actually move from my pc and pick up a divice that meant for talking/texting, and start playing on 6 inch display with my god damn thumbs for who knows how many hours.
i came here with this quote in my clipboard.
did he really just said, that they didn't knew from the onset that they had to support a game with additional content or doing live content (it seems he means events or something like that)?
if i didn't read that wrong, we just heard that we should see ourselves blessed that we even received some updates for D3. i just weep for the millions of people who will download and play this game and even make this a huge financial success, all the while we get our rotting criticist bones trodden upon. fucking great.
also, no plans about monetization? no business model? didn't have the guts to announce another franchise-killing info bit, eh? when you look at crusaders of light and google a bit, you see quite a few people annoyed with high prices for items via real cash. and we all know that the current diablo dev team is just playing to the fiddle of netease games since they emphasize so much on the divided workforce thing, so we can assume that netease will implement their system with little say from actiblizz.
in crusaders of light are more stores than anyone wants and they really like your money there. also, just playing the introduction would work with changing the "quest bubbles" to diablo-esque stuff. reskinning the whole game will do exactly what one would expect.
so, all in all? diablo, as we knew it, dies and becomes immoral. yeah, no typo there. even if they develop something behind the scenes, they SHOULD have teased us for 2020. but for now, we have the next offering for 2019+ and that will be the main concern until 2021 at the very least. think about a real new game not before 2022. i am in tears.
are we supposed to know this new villain how awfully looks like deathwing?
and can we please get a spoiler for all the pictures? makes the frontpage a pain to scroll through.
phew. and here i thought that they would d4 or d3:xp2 us.
okay, since that lowers all expectations..
- one systems or graphics or client update for D1 or D2
-or-
- one new "DLC" character pack with some sort of amazon/druid hybrid
-and-
- diablo switch
- diablo netflix
- diablo upcoming seasons with already thrice seen community buffs as theme
- something with books, arts, whatever
man, i used to love and defend this game. but since maintenance mode i couldn't even do what blizzard wanted for diablo 3: jump in, have fun for a few weeks and check back a few months later. because nothing changes. nothing of interest is added. the game stays the same.
woke up, browsed the news - BAM. nice, i thought. but then.. 45 minutes for the big reveal and 45 minutes some run-of-the-mill panel with talk about some of those books they covered recently.
my two calls:
1. diablo XP2 / diablo 4 announcement and sneak peeks (they do have to fill those 45 minutes somehow). maybe some filler stuff like that netflix crap.
2. diablo 3 character(s) with some druid/assassin combo or amazon, some netflix crap, maybe even d1/d2 remaster.
i really hope they don't do the second one. that would mean that they'd really lost the last touch to this franchise and is a definite proof that they are milking every little penny out of it. it has to be the first. some sneak peek, some talk about what will roughly come, more info at blizzcon 2019.
oh my.
welp, there goes the first announcement of the new stuff.
either they finish big with an ill-advised d3xp2 or d4 at blizzcon and really get their shit together or we will just have the same old.
i don't see a reason that they would start that with BO4. i have bought destiny 2 and get very little ads from it in the other launcher areas. also, there seem to be no cross promotions and i think there won't ever be. destiny and bo4 are activision and totally different games from the blizzard portfolio, i think and hope that they won't compromise their integrity.Quote from WildWestNeko»
Don't care about shooters, and would never look at this game. What I strongly oppose is the fact that they will advertise this nonsense in all their game launchers. Like I would get ads of Destiny 2 in my Diablo 3 and StarCraft 2 launchers... now that I strongly oppose! If I don't care about a product, an ad shoved into my face will only increase my dislike towards such said product.
Another thing I fear will happen, is the cross-game contents, such as buying a collector's edition for game Y, will reward one with unique content in games X, Z and so on... so long this was exclusive to Blizzard games, I didn't mind. But don't want Activision filth polluting Blizzard games! They just aren't up to the same quality in my eyes.
If I can remove games from my list (especially those I don't own), that would really help towards this "merger", otherwise it's bad cross-contamination and cheap marketing tactics that only infuriate this consumer.

This back and forth are they, aren't they has, naturally, sparked lots of conversation.
I'm worried for you. You aren't having a stroke or anything right?
oh shit, there goes half of the player base. only 120 left. ;D
not that we demand to have a choice made by blizzard explained to us or that you have to explain anything to us, but it is certainly interesting why blizzard chooses some people. oh and you cannot blame anyone (of the 20ish people still interested in this franchise) for asking, since every other streamer has all their videos back till 2013 except of you.
wow, that is.. odd? i thought they invited personalities because of, heh, well, a lot of created content.
I never said I created content on Youtube only on Twitch.
sooo.. twelve with one video from 2017 then?
Not that I need to explain anything to you, but for education purposes I will. Twitch doesn't save vods forever. It's true I don't stream Diablo 3 every single day anymore, but I certainly did back when it first came out, and especially so for Reaper of Souls. I streamed that for over a year straight with no other games. I got burned out, and still play for each new season.
Also, if Blizzard themselves find me worthy enough of a content creator to invite me onto their stage at BlizzCon, I feel that's the vote that truly counts anyway. I hope this clears up some things for you all.

when i see the large inflated numbers and no other issues addressed.. one guy could have developed the upcoming season.
0
as paradox as it now is, i even would have welcomed some mobile diablo action from netease probably without any afterthought if blizzard would've shown d4 before / after. really strange when you look at it now.

MTX are okay, paid cosmetics give a choice. let the players have set drops, but make them visually different. more bland but still unique for max level softcore under torment X / whatever an equivalent rift level is. really sweet for torment X / rift with added effects, the version one has to strive for. oh, and torment X should be hard and hardcore should have their own version for the higher one. then have a store version of that set like in heroes of the storm but with a completely different theme. not immersion-breaking but enough to have a player fork over 2-4$ for the permanent addition to transmog since there are a lot of possible items to pay for.
- you would have something visually appealing insted of a higher number on your portrait.
- you would have a goal to uniquely customize your character.
- you would have the ability to add themes. for example: season 16 - 18 wouldn't have ANOTHER rerun of conqueror but instead offer a unique look for these three seasons and the reward for helm/shoulder etc. transmogs plus you can monetize the game with another round of store cosmetics for that season. at this point, one should forego the season formula and maybe put Season 16 - Chapter 1 to 3 for a duration of nine months and for each chapter there will be the reward. you could theme around a specific enemy type or a faction. it would go with season specific buffs or mutators which alter the experience in that time period.
sorry, i got carried away for the moment. but when even a small guy like me just incorporates two features from WoW (tier sets have different color / effects depending on the difficulty they drop in) and HotS (each hero has a standard skin, unlocks a master skin and you can buy a plethora of cosmetics in the store) as one possible feature for diablo 3 while waiting for the breakfast break, blizzard should think about something like that too. i want to stress that i don't think that high of me, it just came into my head as something which could really be some non-invasive stuff for the most players and which could monetize the game for further development. surely you would need some HD textures on those dated models / sets. models looked crappy since before the release.
OKAY. enough now from me.
with a bigger staff they could do this cosmetic MTX thing a lot better than doing a mobile version where netease probably will do stuff like blizzard does in WoW/HotS. just sayin'.
0
exactly. i enjoy a few mobile games regularly in intervals of about four hours for a few minutes. but nothing beats climbing on the gaming throne and firing up the gaming rig.
if the whole market was mobile and blizzard would defiantly stand against it with diablo - okay. time to adapt. right now it isn't a good decision without a major pc game backing the whole thing up.

the problem is, that she is indeed posting here and there about some switch bugs and subsequently gets attacked due to unresolved DI/D3/D4/BlizzCon issues which are still present. if she were truly silent whilst taking feedback, this whole pit of clowns would eat themselves and hate the franchise forever. blizzard, doing the math, accepts a few hundredthousands as a casualty but has millions upon millions of MAUs in the future.
they couldn't care less.
and i think this will dawn on a lot of people in the coming weeks. despite all the ruckus, we will be abandoned. we won't be heard anymore. DI forums will be full of angry d1-d3 players whom will be heavily moderated out of this world, that will die down. metacritic will see a massive spike of negativity on the first listing of DI, that will die down. then there will be silence up until the first glimpse of some majestic d4 footage and many will come back. blizzard will be best boy.
a bit terrifying, to say the least. no community should be treated this way and this is also one of the concerns of the CM. but, like you said, how would anyone get this child out of the well? what can nev post to soothe this? i wouldn't even know by now.
2
you are totally right and i would count the lazy pun as more of a friendly jab. but the rest i've said isn't against the devs. it isn't against nevalistis. it IS against the community manager job. that job is done poorly, very poorly. the CM is the liaison between the playerbase and whatever is on blizzards side.
- we have five posts on May 1.
- two posts on May 2.
+ 28 days +
- one post on May 30.
+ 70 days +
- two posts on Aug 8, the day of the hype video.
+ 54 days +

- two posts. one generic about forum stuff, one is the quick word from blizzard
when i look at blues from WoW.. yeah, we have a very inactive CM position. again, it is the CM and not the person. if the CM isn't given anything to work with, the CM cannot post it. should the CM engage more, especially after this blizzcon? what do you think? should the CM try to fan the flames somehow, anyhow? at least SOMEHOW give us the feeling that this isn't the light at the end of the tunnel? or worse, the light from a brighter, more mobile future as it is..
i don't have anything against her. but reading about one MVP from 2013 who broke into tears and who knows as much as we do is really gruesome. not standing by the community isn't very nice in these trying times. i think we all would like to hear something. taking our feedback over the last years did nothing, maybe we could be provided with any info about multiple projects? at this point, even the smallest morsels seem to be nice..

Betrayal - Immortal Syndicate.
damn guy, diablo really got turned into a meme and everyone is having his way with it. nice one.

speaking of witch (pun, you know): is this how it is going to be? they absolutely alienate their playerbase "PC" at blizzcon to merge "PC" with "MOBILE" on the day of the release for more "CONSOLE" (funny thing is, that DI won't run on a mobile platform like the switch), only to find themselves get shat on, have their stocks crash and thousands of diablo players only want answers or at the very least some communication.
instead of going into full damage recovery, they let aforementioned CM brood over an answer to the community for three full days and let her release a weak "we hear you". they still want feedback on top of the past three years of feedback after RoS went stale and *poof* she vanishes. her post history as a blue CM is strange indeed, after may 2018 you barely get one page worthy of replies to any matters (including someone asking where the blues are):
https://us.battle.net/forums/en/d3/search?a=Nevalistis
so, the backlash came and went. it is still burning, no one is talking and blizzards conference call sends more mobile signs. if everybody would stop being angry with blizzard at this point, nothing would happen until DI release. they would just be happy that all the anger died down. is this really the way you want to solve this situation? is this everything we get TWELVE DAYS after blizzcon?
oh and let us not forget this great picture floating around where netease tells blizzard how they should monetize DI:
if it is the same as with every other game with stacking item upgrades, you would then buy your upgrades with a chance of failure which can be lowered with store-bought items. it is not set in stone that this will come to pass in the western markets, but it speaks volumes.
where are we at now, don't we deserve anything anymore?
0
phew, such a post coming from bagstone surely is gut-wrenching.
0
i don't know why nobody inside blizzard can leak the status of the diablo dev team. "team for number 4 exists and has 140 people currently."
shouldn't be too hard.
0
we don't know and it isn't confirmed that there is a "real" diablo game in the works. we know of a d4 rumour, we know of the rumour two game directors they already went through and with that the two alleged reboots. therefore we can assume that a new, "real" diablo game won't hit us until at least 2022. 2024 would be more realistic if we extend the timeline of D3 announcement and release by two plausible years.
that is six years from now on, IF they can re-staff enough and IF they manage to attach some new good names for a rather hated-upon franchise at the moment. who wants to be the successor of 'fuck that loser' wilson and 'we LOVE diablo' cheng?
also, these "projects" they talk about? comics got cancelled, book delayed (cancelled too?), netflix series maybe in the works. what if all this stuff postpones d4 announcement to the 25th anniversary and release to the 30th? hopefully they return to d3 for a change and develop ANYTHING in this wreck.
0
let me ask you a serious question: how are you playing your games? would you mind to play on a phone / tablet for an extended period of time? would you pull an allnighter if a new diablo has addictive gameplay? do you have mobile hardware for diablo? and, if you play and like it very much and you spend money on it, would you hope that blizzard uses that money to fuel the next pc version of diablo or further their mobile gaming?
0
sorry man, i spun your metaphor the correct way and how it went down with diablo.
also: IF, and that is a big if, diablo 4 is in production, we won't see it until they are done with immortal as it is the new game and not some sidegame like it was with fallout shelter to fallout 4. if two years seem plausible to you, we have to wait until at least 2021 for a new diablo pc game.
but hey, let's just roll over and not voice our concern for the direction this company is taking. let's just gobble that shit up.
0
you know, corporate people like CMs have to follow company line. when activision dictates that diablo immortal sings in your hands and that you forget that you are on mobile, than that is the thing you live by.
me, personally? being a CM and seeing this abomination? i would have no part in it, especially if i knew what we as players know from other netease games. my CV would list that i had a CM job at blizzard and i am sure i would get that same job at another good company. i couldn't betray myself that much that i would act like i would like this big project reveal on the fucking mythic stage of a blizzcon.
0
yeah, no. totally wrong comparison.
1. they release vanilla d3 in 2012. for many people a shitshow, i liked it and the RMAH to sell stuff for good money.
2. they release RoS in 2014, kill the only revenue stream outside of box sales, implement rifts as endgame content.
3. they release nothing really spectacular which isn't a deviation from the RoS content (rift, grift, crift, forgetting something?).
4. they add the anniversary filter and call it a day.
5. they hype us with a nevalistis video in august 2018.
6. they pull back a few days shy of blizzcon and say that they don't show everything.
7. they show immortal to a bunch of die hard pc diablo fans.
if we were to use your "example": the rib-eye would feature a relatively new recipe than the traditional rib-eye, it would lack some flavor of the former and wouldn't be as satisfying to eat, texas road house would then add something to the dish which would make it a lot more tasty. but after five years you are fed up and can't eat that anymore when all of a sudden texas road house tells you that the rib-con 2018 would be YOUR rib-con since you are such a devout rib-eye-eater. then they would parade her PR specialist rib-eye-listis around with a video where she explains that the ovens are burning hot at texas road house and you would be SO delighted and when the rib-con finally arrives you would go there and be like WHERESMYRIBEYEARRR and they'd be like: "we have this great rib-eye experience and now we are offering you homeopathic rib-eye-pills. ON. THE. GO. you can eat them wherever you want and we promise you: they are exactly like the rib-eye you know, they are the full-fledged flavor!".
would that satisfy you in any meaningful way? would you feel that you've been deceived? was it actively deceiving? should they work on something new, present that and present something mobile somewhere along the way? anyway, they shouldn't do this in front of a crowd of enthusiasts..
