looks like a few finishing touches. so, 2.5 in a few weeks, eh? i am sure there is nothing primal to be tested.

Demonmonger: paragon is at the very least grindable. a real upgrade like a primal ancient legendary with the correct stats and 1.200+ for the right slots is a lot more luck and ANOTHER RNG based thing. bad design.

take my energy. sounds really hippie. and since we only paid twice we pretty much covered everything in development costs from release to now. not.
Haters gona hate, the content is free and some people are still flaming, in other companies you pay for new content. I was looking for things like special place for crafting material and even the armory is a good idea, anyway more power, that is fantastic. (>'-')> take my energy blizz (>'-')>
Jamoose: different times, man. it was cool to masochistically grind and grind and grind. today it is different and you have to adapt to that as a game dev. unless, of course, you want a product which sold well but is widely regarded as dead an uninspired. -

started the current season asap when it went live. got to 70, did a few things and couldn't bring myself to log in after i saw what happened at blizzcon.
i really thought the game would be shaken up quite a bit with many mechanic changes to rifts, grifts, paragon and talents plus maybe a new system like runes for rune words, so i saw S8 as one of the last seasons with the "old" systems in place. but it seems to be seasons all the way from now on forward. there already was talk about consoles getting in on the "fun" with season 10 (!). and nothing exciting along the way.
it is very sad to see the game being this dull. :/ -

please don't mind demonmonger. he is absolutely stuck in blizzards hindquarters and won't come out anytime soon.
Quote from Demonmonger»
Awesome, this is a lot of changes for an initial PTR patch, looking forward to see what else is in store for us in 2.4.3
Were you paid to say that? That was like....mega corny.
just watched a stream on twitch of the anniversary dungeon. god, that thing looks awful.. i think it is good that they only allow access once a year. and that it doesn't hold anything remotely interesting aside of a mild event of nostalgia. they really hate this franchise now. -

Seeing all this stuff together in one page, don't you think this could have been enough to call it an expansion?
- new class
- new areas
- new monsters
- new game mode (challenge rift + D1)
- mechanical changes (grift density, gem upgrade, material UI, dye merchant)
- armory
If they also added cube to this list and the earlier added areas (which make it 5 areas = a small Act 6). It could definitely be sold as an expansion.
- new class will be sold as DLC, the last classes in the diablo universe always came with an addon. but the class wasn't the important thing, it was always the new act.
- new areas seem to be without a quest line or something like the cube. which is digested in a few minutes.
- new monsters are okay, i guess. as long as they are really unique and do something other than mindlessly run to a player, charge or cast while evading. we already have that and graphics are worse enough, you only get to see hp bars anyway.
- new game mode D1 only once a year, which totally sucks and is no real content. it is a gimmick. challenge rift? blizzard bypasses the most gripes of this community by disabling a lot of the problems and calling it an even playing field. but i wonder how they implement the whole thing. do i have to play unfamiliar specs to challenge a friend in order to have fun?
- grift density is such a crappy thing. since rifts and grifts all you do is search for big pockets of mobs. now there will be more pockets. material UI sounds okay, but why do i still have to substract the mats i need from that window? why doesn't it work a like a currency tab in wow?
- and QoL things like dyes at the transmogger, the armory etc. are things they could have brought in the past four years. even vanilla lacked them and i wanted to use addons from curse, only to find out they won't allow ui customization.
sorry, but those things don't warrant an expansion. -

those are almost patch notes.
those guys, man. they have the nerves. when i look at all their other games and how the devs talk about so much and build and do so much and plan so much and give fans things they get excited about and then, the diablo devs. they really think they got us, but they are even more disconnected from the player base then they were ever before.
it is time to kill this game off, remake a glorious diablo 4 and try to evolve the hack n slash genre. which is really the biggest gripe i have about most of the people (AND THE DEVS) who always say: "but diablo is an hack n slash. you aren't supposed to play it too much. you are supposed to enjoy it in between. you should only play it for a week in a new season."
fuck that. i started vanilla with the reputation of blizzard in mind, that their games always capture that typical blizzard magic art- and lore-wise while still maintaining a game well beyond it's prime. see diablo 2. and for real content and constant evolution look for WoW. and i thought "hey, they wouldn't let diablo go a year without signifcant and cool changes!". boy, was i wrong.
the current devs suck, they began to work for blizzcon 2016 only THIS YEAR. while still tweeting back in november 2015 about fans losing their sh*t about diablo for the next blizzcon. you cannot honeycoat the massive failures of this game and it's development team anymore.

anniversary dungeon sounds good at first, but how does it play out with retro visuals / 8-directional movement? it sounds far too gimmicky to be anything more than a small diversion. after that we get two zones, which are most likely more scrapped content and only quest properly for about half an hour and we see it only as a bounty we have to do.
necro. i think it is interesting to see a new class, although it was hinted at since vanilla. but the way to implement it via a character pack has to be the worst way. i don't think they will do a 4.99 thing, which would be enough for a new character (do we get more character slots?). although we all know it will probably be 14.99.
anyway, much build-up for a niche player base. sure, diablo 1 was great and all. but damn, i have seen it often enough NOT wanting to go back there..

okay, i think few anticipated that move. why two weeks before blizzcon? why no patch? and a PTR for two weeks with nothing to show, yet not much time to test any meaningful things?
jeez blizzard..

since they announced RoS at gamescom 2013, one couldn't really not think that this could be repeated. and since it was done so only one time, nobody could have predicted it with absolute certainty.Quote from Cleglaw_Xendlar»
now, what did i said before? nothing will be at gamescom, and a big announcement at blizzcon. my words, again, proved itself true.
i also said making d3x2 is a stupid idea, and it will be surely something not-related to d3. also not a card game, not hd remake, not anything connected to those simple things. it will be a BRAND NEW GAME. you will see that i ll be proven right again.
saying that they won't make a card game is easy. hearthstone is right there and blizzard wouldn't want to compete with that. the hd remake on the other hand is a safe bet, since they announced a starcraft remake.
sooo. that leaves you with a brand new game. in the diablo universe. which would be diablo 4. at this point, where nothing of value is added to diablo 3, that would be very nice. another expansion would be nice too, but it isn't a stupid idea.
i just can't get why they didn't say or show or at the very least tease A BIT of what is coming. it would create a positive hype for them. and if they really want to announce something at blizzcon, they should have something worked on already. -

atleast the rest of the team is proceeding as usual: http://www.diablofans.com/blizz-tracker/topic/62859-play-your-way-thursday-gronds-protoss-carrier-crusader
and hey, it's other-game-themed! oh the irony.
why do they do that? why do they go at such a great length just to avoid our legitimate concerns about this franchise?how on earth can a company as big and popular as blizzard NOT celebrate 20 years of one of their cornerstones with some very big news? i just can't understand this neglect we receive. will they remain silent until blizzcon? and then, what? big announcement of x2/d4/d2hd/all of the above and a line like "but we wanted to see how you guys try to guess what is happening" / "wanted to build suspense" or whatever bullcrap there is?
fed up.

either they are hiding a serious hint until they reveal it here at the gamescom and present something new at the blizzcon, or they simply abandoned the whole franchise and keep it on life support.
but if blizzard treats one of their pillars that way for a 20th anniversary..

after starcraft hd and it's incoming announcement / release i fully suspect to make this year a diablo year. like they promised.
by releasing diablo 2 hd. or maybe even 1. but that will be it.
us diablo 3 players await three or four years of seasons and then they will kill the servers.

loving the UI changes.
once i thought it would be nice to have not that hard-coded windows which have exclusive appearance rights and rather be able to see how much crit% or critd you are assigning and how it affects your current percentages. or a better system for organizing the 300+ item dump in the mail after each season. or maybe doing it like they did with addons in WoW and include options from turbohud like they did to their vanilla client.
but i guess a hide ui button and some icons are nice too.

ahh, i cannot await the rumours and first little teasers about the next expansion. they will come here and there in datamined patches, on ominous pages or in trademarks. and when blizzcon is finally upon us, they will unleash the biggest reveal of all diablo reveals. we rejoice, we name our kids after the devs and await the then layed out roadmap for two more expansions and sometimes in 2021 a successor.
and sometimes i wish i had the gift of precognition.

today, diablo 3 turns 5.
i hope that blizzard has some festivities in store for us, might even bring me to log in once more.
0
face it, this game is still dying a slow, painful death.
0
this is the same as that d2 mod. and all they do is pump some nerd's fantasies by enabling characters to launch a thousand projectiles to combat foes which launch another thousand projectiles. it has nothing to do with the creepy dungeon crawling we used to play back in '96.
it just doesn't have any appeal and just lacks creativity. pass after seeing the trailer.
0
don‘t expect to be understood here. most of the last 100 diablo 3 players seem to be here and would never accept the state of the game.

https://www.pcgamesn.com/diablo-2/diablo-2-warcraft-3-remaster-blizzcon
so no d2 remaster any time soon. by the way: those scarce morsels of news are still news. why don't they get to the frontpage?
0
and sorry, to cop out and say "we have nothing to offer this year" doesn't make it right or does the franchise any justice. they really have only a skeleton crew working on d3 at the moment, they could really just admit that.
0
and you even see a big necromancer on the blizzcon logo. it is so very sad to not even whip up some small event or something.
i really do hope they are working on d4, i think they really abandoned d3 / RoS.

hi!
https://eu.shop.battle.net/en-gb/product/diablo-iii-rise-of-the-necromancer
maybe due to halloween? or blizzcon? slash another 5 and i might buy it.
edit: jesus christ, why can't i write the euro symbol? why is non-latin locked?
0
played that challenge rift necro, since i haven't bought the pack. didn't have any fun.
0
okay, that answers my question in the news post. d3 devs and player base, still no communication.
0
the concept in itself is flawed. i want to vanquish the foes of hell and not the guy in front of me on a leaderboard. other than that, what is the point in doing a slightly different playstyle compared to a normal rift? and why are randomized tilesets with randomized foes something which is widely considered as playable and cool, while other games had a given monster populace designated to a specific area?
why do i have to suffer a lakuni in a swamp, when they were desert beings? it is one of those things were you are completely baffled when you play a normal campaign mode and encounter act 1 mobs in their according act 1 zones and they come in small groups instead of progress packs for GR pushing..

okay, it is impossible to create this thread with the post from joe shely because of some non latin unicode characters. i tried to kill all of them but it wouldn't let me.
anyway: nothing new or interesting or insightful to see here.

"uhh, i beat GR121 yesterday! it was exhilarating!" wow. that sounds great. how about the time we managed to kill our first hell lord de seis in the chaos sanctuary? THAT sounds like a name. GR121 could be some planet. yawn.
and now they tweak everything a bit more so that we could beat GR125 one day. "BUT IT HAS XX% MORE DIFFICULTY! DON'T YOU RECOGNIZE MY ACCOMPLISHMENT?!"
0
uhm, yes? you really wouldn't count them as content as in "enter a whole new zone with new horrors, discover a village teeming with quests and rich rewards an uncover a sinister plot below the graveyard!", would you? it is some interface fluff.
the thing is: same mobs, same maps. one life, victory conditions to be met in a time frame. it is content for a few hours until you have the wings.
