posted a message on D3 "DEAD" in 2-3 months
    Quote from Kisho

450+ hours huh? Are you sure you're not just, I dunno... Bored of the game after spending most of the past couple months on it? With a release date of May 15th, that means there has been 66 days between the release of D3 and now.

    66 * 24 = 1584 hours total
    Minus 8 * 66 = 528 hours for sleep, gives us 1584 - 528 = 1056

    1056 - 450 = 606

450 hours spent on the game, 606 not... I hate to break it to you, but you've spent almost half of your waking hours on D3 since release. I'm pretty sure anyone would call that a resounding success.

Surely if the game was so horrible, you'd have stopped playing about 400 hours ago maybe? Then your argument wouldn't seem so ridiculously flawed.

Don't use math on trolls. You'll just confuse them.

WASD will never and should never happen. Google to read many developer statements as to why it will never happen in this game.

As for dying because you tried to walk away but kept attacking instead, as somebody above said, bind a key to force movement. It's in your options and it's unbound by start. I use "x" since it's where my thumb naturally rests when my ring finger is on tab for the map and middle and index finger are on 1 and 2 for most-used spells. If you bind shift to force attack your thumb can very easily between the two.

But that's just what I use - find something that works and these sorts of deaths will be a thing of the past.

Far more likely than any of these, is that Imperius will descend to the burning hells for revenge, and become the new Prime Evil of Wrath, as hinted in the cinematic, and in the game. He's becoming more and more irrational and bloodthirsty, and the Wrath short shows that his short temper is in part something Diablo desired.

He blames humanity for what happened to the heavens with Diablo, and wants to wipe them out. He also wants to destroy the burning hells. Its not unlikely he may make use of the black soulstone to do so.

This. Adria and Leah may or may not tie in, but I think we will have to defeat Imperius eventually.

posted a message on I love Diablo 3
It seems like 80% of the threads started on this or any other message board are full of endless whining about various features and bugs, 15% are more rational posts that are still all about the things people don't like, and 5% are about random other stuff.

I would like to go against the trend by starting a thread about how much I love Diablo 3. Sure the servers have been unstable, the AH has been buggy as hell, the RMAH keeps getting pushed back, and many things are different from both Diablo 2 and WoW. But you know what? I am still enjoying the shit out of this game, and expect I will be for a long time to come.

    Flame away, haters.

    EDIT: Fail math corrected.

A question (possibly a dumb question that is common knowledge and I'm just too stupid to know it):

    What does "bonus affixes" mean?

EDIT: I might have figured it out - does it just mean the number of random affixes you get after counting the guaranteed ones?

posted a message on "One of the Chosen" Feat of Strength
This sort of thing is nothing new. Back in late 2008, shortly after the WotLK expansion for WoW was released, I remember being up late working on the level 70 -> 80 grind. Suddenly, at the exact moment the server time hit midnight, a feat of strength achievement notice popped up rewarding me for being logged in on WoW's 4th anniversary. If I remember correctly I was rewarded a pet for earning this feat of strength.

It's not like Blizzard had told us ahead of time that this feat of strength was coming, so if somebody happened to not log in at all that day, they missed out on earning it and the pet that came with it. It was a random award for something people had very little control over seeing as how they didn't know about it in advance. No, the comparison between that and this beta feat of strength is not 100% valid, but it's a similar idea. Feats of strength and rewards that come with them often have a random element that can't be avoided.

    Deal with it.

I still don't buy the immersion argument.

If your character speaks to an NPC, the character's name shows up in the dialog box. That is fully consistent with being immersed in the RPG, since the CHARACTER is the one speaking, so the CHARACTER name shows up.

If you type "Hold on, afk one sec" in party chat, it is not your character that says that. YOU are saying that. So it makes sense that your battletag shows up in the text box.

I'm going to stop posting in this thread now, because obviously those that are super pissed off about something as insignificant as this are not going to be convinced by me or anybody else that it's not a big deal. Haters are going to hate, whiners are going to whine, and crybabies are going to cry. By all means, continue working yourselves up and convincing yourself Blizzard is full of a bunch of lying assholes because they have implemented a system that improves over a lot of the problems earlier games like D2 had regarding character and account names.

The real objection here is that it breaks the immersion of the RPG, right?

Having friends not in the game start whispering you doesn't break it? Having small little quill fiends drop giant shields, two-handed swords, armor plates, etc. doesn't break it? Giant yellow question marks appearing above the heads of people who want to talk to you doesn't break it? Giant flashes of yellow light each time you gain a level doesn't break it? The whole concept of "gaining a level" doesn't break it?

posted a message on Team LF 1 elite player.
Why is it that, every single time somebody comes in and posts something about their need for a party member on the "hardcore" side of normal, other people have to come in and get all preachy about having no life and the negative health effects of spending too much time playing video games? Of course getting too little sleep, eating junk food, and sitting for long periods of time is bad for your health. I doubt there is anybody here that doesn't actually know that. But so is smoking, excessive drinking, sitting and watching tv rather than running around outside, and 500 million other things we do. And no matter what you say, the OP (in this thread and all others) is not going to change their release plans because you made them see the light with your wonderful wisdom. They are going to do whatever the hell they want in order to enjoy a game that many have been waiting a decade, give or take to be released.

It's the OP's life, not yours. Stop judging others.
