posted a message on Legendaries are new rares.
You are paragon level 49, and you played for 12 hours.

Conclusion: You have way, way, WAY more free time to play than the majority of the playerbase (not the majority of biased sample of people who post here, but the full playerbase). Of course you are finding a ton of legendaries - the game is now balanced around giving the casual players a shot at finding epic gear, as it should be.

posted a message on No Unique Drops ...
Why are so many people so upset over the low drop rate of legendaries? You must be the same people that try to sell complete garbage legendaries for 50 million gold on the AH because you think orange text = MONEY. Most of the legendaries are total garbage, or at best garbage with some novelty affix on them that's fun to play around with for a few minutes.

Are some of them worth a ton of money/gold? Sure. But the same is true of rares, and you probably find 50+ mil rares at about the same rate as the top legendaries.

If you continue to fail to recognize this, you're setting yourself up for a massive disappointment that will possibly end in a broken keyboard and a rage quit when you FINALLY see orange text only to discover it is a poorly rolled Tasker and Theo.

I'm at zero. Sometimes turtles pass me in between packs. Once a snail even asked me to pull over and let him by. In early act 1, before he dies, Deckard usually whips me with his cane for holding him up so much.

assuming it is released before Diablo 4, will make it into a legendary game.
There won't be a Diablo 4, why won't you kiddies understand this? D2 was out for over a decade before getting a Sequel. I think Diablo 3 will follow in the example of WoW/SC, they will keep releasing expansions for it and a true "sequel" will never come.

It was a joke. I am well aware of how long D2 was out, and how long it will be until D4 comes out if they ever decide to make it. I'm also very much aware of the fact that Blizzard has stated many times that they view the story of D3 as the conclusion of a trilogy started by the original game, so are very uncertain if there will ever be more games in the franchise.

By the way, I'm 30. Certainly not the oldest here, but old enough to be mildly insulted at being referred to as one of "you kiddies."

I tried this tonight for shits and giggles. Two nearly complete act 3 runs (started with keep depths), paragon level 10, about 150 mf with 5 stacks + gear mf + templar, no legendaries or sets.

My conclusion from my one data point: there is no conclusion to be had from my one data point.

1.0.4 Is simply amazing. It now allows me to play any barb build I like that isnt downright stupid and without getting WTF raped in the face. Im not stuck to either Sword and Board or Spin to win builds now.
Plus the paragon system just enforces playing the game. Now not only can I play any build I like but im also leveling while doing so and slowly gaining MF and GF. Have made over £100 since patch 1.0.4 and thats just casually playing and im at PLvl25 and loving it :)

LOL at thinking being paragon level 25 already is "playing casually."

"Playing casually" is logging in for an hour or so after the wife and kids go to bed a few times a week. A friend of mine qualifies as such as "casual" player, and he just hit Paragon 2. I'm at level 9 and already play more than a good fraction of the players.

Don't define "casual" by the people that post here - there's too strong of a selection bias in effect.

posted a message on How many players there is out there?
I have no idea how many are still playing, but it's worth nothing that I spend quite a bit of time leveling alts (3 level 60's with a 4th getting close), and I am still frequently running into people in public games at low levels that obviously have no clue what they are doing. Many times when I check their profiles they are on their first character. A lot of the gamers that didn't give a shit about Diablo and just played because it was the hot new game have moved on, but there seems to be a fairly steady influx of new players.

Eventually the game will settle down into a much smaller community. Then the expansion will come out, fresh waves of emo whiners will come back, rage that they don't find 1 legendary for every 30 minutes of playtime, and quickly move on to the next hot new thing.

I don't have anything close to 200 mil, so I have nothing to offer you. But god damn my wizard would look sexy with one of those.

So much drama over what one big-bad game developer said about another. Can't we all just take a who-gives-a-crap pill and stop the endless prattling on about something that has no bearing on any of our lives?
