    Which one were you?

why dont you people stay up to date on exploits? you should have someone looking these things up constantly. they arent hard to find there are websites that are strictly for d3 exploits if you didnt know. maybe if you stayed up to date on these kind of things you would have been able to detect and ban bots a long time ago instead of letting them do their thing and destroy the economy.

you know its really so fail that the community that plays the game that you people created know more about it then you do. i lost all my faith in this game and blizzard. its also sad that the community is basically doing your job for you, this is example number 1,000.

    or

You guys really need some gamers to play your games in your offices as well, not just QA's.
Even the CM's, they play by guyds the players made, instead of having guides made internally.

However, so far, Blizzard is letting us to do this job, by allowing us to participate in PTR's, Open Beta's and so on, which has it's own good sides, but information takes longer to be delivered from us to you, than if you would have your own people to do these things (which I'm sure you do), but in my opinion, it's not done well enough.

    or

you know what the funny thing is back in 1.0.3 i sent blizzard an email about a known d3 exploiting website where people were scripting bots in its early stages. you know what? i never got an email back or a thank you and no action was takin place. looks like blizzard didnt care at all. why would they? i bet botting and duping and all these exploits made them a couple million.

Well whichever, I understand why Vasadan felt hurt, even if I consider the ban unwarranted. Just to note PTR/Beta forums have more strict rules. I don't know if that's a written rule, but I've seen bans like this often in WoW betas. You either act professionally, or don't do testing.

I dont know any company that listens to their fans as much as blizzard and uses their fans ideas to make the game better. So I would like to know do you know any company that does that better than blizzard?

Oh, there are many companies that communicate often and well with their fanbase. Unknown Worlds comes to my mind now with their game Natural Selection 2. They're quite symbiotic with their community, some parts of the game were literally made by fans.

Now, who is doing better? Not possible to answer. Blizzard CMs have a hard job with tens of millions of gamers, but despite that I still feel they could do much better. Many times I feel they're disconnected, even when they're answering specific questions. That should not happen. They should know that basic stuff they often miss about the games they represent. So I think Blizzard CM is overrated, and especially with Diablo 3, they make mistakes too often.

My billion dollar estimate was a joke. But your 3 million $ is too low. Remember that 3-4 weeks after 1.04 gold prices were steadily above 1 eur, peaking at 1.5! That means demand was huge for a long period of time. Calculating in $ for sake of easiness. 3m $ in transfer fees (15%commodity+15#transfer) means 10m $ worth of gold (or 10x10^12 gold) purchased at 1$/10^6 gold (note that the actual price was higher). There are over 3 million players in Europe. Calculating with a rather casual 100k gold/hour farming speed it takes only 33.33 hours of playtime of the European playerbase to farm that amount of gold. I hope that this puts in perspective how little that 3m $ is compared to the gross gold producion of diablo players.

Blizzard made way more than 3m in transaction fees just from gold sells and just in Europe.

Name another game with a RMAH to compete with D3 for that title.

RMAH or no RMAH, no one is still giving me numbers. I'm very curious. :)

Why are you so desperate to derail the thread?

This thread is about qq. Tag along or troll us. Derailing is not fair from a mod!

Sooo... Blizz made at least 150-200 eur in transaction fees just off my sales. Extrapolate that to ten million customers and you get a number in the billions.

There's your number, now let us continue. 1.07 suxx, kk?

    Yup, I'm disappointed too.

New gem tier as moneysink is the only good news, I expect that gold will have RM value again. This was needed, because AH prices (in gold) are way too inflated.

Dueling is meh. Only in Act 1?... Without the possibility to travel freely between acts every act should have a PVP place (except maybe Act 4).

Craft recipes are a band-aid for casuals.

    MP XP changes? Too late.

Monster changes are fine, I guess, but I can already handle everything. Maybe I can ease up on defense stats. No big deal for sure.

Quality of life changes are nice, but again, not a big deal.

So, no substantial changes or additions, like monster placing rebalance in Act 1-2, more map geometry randomization, new item or skill mechanics, new monsters/bosses. Just stuff to grind out the same way we are doing since release...

posted a message on crafting prices going up?
Whatever, crafting prices are winding up just because the expected raise in demand. It's not a real demand yet, just AH sharks doing their gamble. If you got a huge stock of materials wait until prices peak.

I'm certain the prices will flop once the patch hits (or right after we see the details on PTR), just like with Fiery Brimstones in 1.04.

I expect that rubies will settle to be more expensive than yesterday though, after the initial rush passes.

posted a message on If you get free 800 stat points, where would you put it?
All on main stat of course.

    - Vitality/Life % is much easier to get from items than dps stats
    - MP10 EHP requirement is easily attainable compared to the dps requirement
    - Most MPs don't require high EHP anyways.
    - Mainstat provides nice boost to passive defenses/EHP too (except maybe for Barbs, they get only a minor boost).

Overneathe, I don't expect an honest answer... but I'm really curious.

Are you paid to be a fanboy, or it's natural?

I'm not trolling or anything. It's just you're so optimistic about the game that it's unreal to me.

    That's not an official slate.

People were fired from Blizzard's chinese office, or whatever they have there, because of this slate. Back then, the consensus was that this is legit. Nothing surprising though. People look too much into it. Even Blizzard has internal milestones and goals, and they aren't public for a reason: Blizzard changes dates as they see it fit.

posted a message on Blizzard is a joke...
For me, Diablo 3 has to improve a lot to be more than a mediocre game with lovely visuals. Blizzard needs to get down the high horse. They say now that they are not releasing stuff until it's perfect. Well, following that logic, Diablo 3 shouldn't have shipped.

No, I don't actually think that. But I do think that there were much more mistakes with the launch of Diablo 3 than it's visible. Scrapping PVP means the game didn't evolve as expected. That would not happen if Blizzard is more open. Team Deathmatch should have been released with launch and evolve with the game. "Laser focus" on balance could have been avoided without implementing a matchmaking system... But no, Blizzard obviously considers us too stupid to create our games. And that's what really bothers me. We have no (or very little) control of our experience. Implementing Monster Power means Blizzard recognized this. But it's just a little step. I don't expect to see a much more customize-able Diablo 3, because Blizzard thinks they can give us everything we need in the game. No, they can't, it's not possible.

Nice combination, but doesn't come anywhere near to HA/EA in effectivity on higher MP. Equipping Buriza Do Kyanon on the scoundrel enables Cull The Weak regardless of build. With this gear on MP3 you could just equip Multishot quiver and SOJ and oneshot everything.

posted a message on Opinion: Blizzard heavily controls Diablo 3 legendary/set drops
    Quote from tommmmmm

Actually 1200 hours is a good sample + questioning of other players. And I believe what OP says is true in at least 75%

How about my sample then? I got 1100 hours, and play with 5-6 people who have similar playtime. I've got good knowledge of their important drops. My experience matches everything I know about probability (which was a one year course at the university).

RNG works equally for every one of us. Given this equality one might expect that every one should be equally rich in the long run. Well, fuck no. Some players will dedicate a lot of time learning the game, practicing skills, and be effective juggling probabilities. Others will learn all hot stat/legendary in the game and snipe good deals in the AH. These guys will get rich. There are some exceptions, like botters, exploiters, Athene's social experiments, and stuff like that, but in general, those who are more dedicated to learn will be more successful.

Playing the game for 1200 hours doesn't necessarily mean one's dedicated to learn. He's dedicated to play, for sure, but that won't bring anyone above the average. Everyone can play the game. The ones who play the game with purpose, thought and method can and will make the difference. That's how life works. That's how Diablo works. Sorry to burst bubbles.

And making conspiracy theories is not a good method.

Another poor soul lost his sanity to PROBABILITY, the evil god.

Nothing to see here, move along.

(the ones who get a good drop are not the ones who get rich in Diablo, but the ones who snipe the AH all day. No RNG there, just good search patterns).
