I recently just got beta and was playing around with a wizard the other day, and it seems to me that channeled spells seem to work quite differently than I had first guessed.
From my testing it seemed as if a channeled spell, although labeled as damage per second, actually does its damage infractions of a second (time steps) whose sum equates to the weapon dmg listed. This is quite significant, as that also means that the arcane power cost is also lowered to coincide with these time steps. Which in turn means that you can cast disintegrate for longer, because you are not forced to stop when you are at 22 AP.
Anyways, I just wanted to see if anyone else could confirm this?
EDIT: You do need the amount of Arcane Power displayed on the channeling spell to start the spell again if you stop channeling it.
All effective wizard builds have two things in common,
#1 Only uses ONE(1) Low Arcane Power cost spell (Signatures, Golden RoF, etc.)
#2 Uses at least ONE(1), but no more than THREE(3) Offensive Spells. Ideally you should use TWO(2).
Edit: There is the possibility that with good gear you turn a medium cost spell into an effectively low cost AP spell, thus satisfying the requirements of #1.
The enchantress seems very weak compared to the others.
I agree....She needs some work.
She apparently does 0 dmg or close to it, but thats what you would expect. However, the problem is that there isnt much enchanting going on either.
Outside charm and scorched earth, I cannot really see anything worth much consideration. On the other hand, look at the templar, every skill seems useful and arguably good.
Just comparing Guardian to mass hex tells you the whole story.
Guardian has a longer stun, and you get healed twice.
And then on the other side of the spectrum, compare Focused mind and Hysteria or Anatomy. Focused Mind is only up 1/3 of the time, and it doesnt even buff the enchantress.
I'll be dressed like my WoW character screaming at everyone in line calling them traitor's to Azeroth... I simply have nothing better to do in life...
That would be hilarious.
A couple suggestions though,
#1 Get drunk 1st and stand out of line. Harass everyone for getting the game.
#2 Get a friend to to stand in line and buy your copy as well. He is also the designated driver. Then when he hands you your copy of the game, make sure everyone knows it, and taunt everyone behind you in line.
Digital download from the WoW annual pass and the CE can turn up whenever it does.
As soon as I know the release day I'm booking a week off work. Then it's a full week of ale (homebrew and hobgoblin), pizza and junk food to keep my body fuelled with demon slaying power (and flatulence too I expect).
The girlfriend was warned months ago and knows what to expect (including the flatulence) and not to complain
lol good luck with the, "not to complain :P" part.
I've been searching for a good mouse for a while, u guys think this mouse is worth to buy to just play wow/d3?
I've preached it a couple times; Razor Naga bro. Don't be intimidated by the 12 thumb buttons on the side, or the two extra on the left mouse click; It's faster than any keyboard hotkey for wow, and I'll be able to put every skill I can use in D3 on them, as well as whatever UI functions I want to. It's like ~$99, but by far the best mouse I've owned. It's also been over two years of constant use (mostly wow so I'm using all my buttons) and it's got ZERO wear and tear. Get it, you won't be sorry.
Tip: DON'T use the handicap little stickers it comes with so you can memorize the buttons w/o looking, it only hinders you. It'l take like ~30 minutes of practice to muscle memory it, then you're good to go =P
Never buy razor products, if you expect anything remotely similar to customer service. Emails that take weeks to get replied to, busy signals, and when/if you finally get the RMA# they will then pretend the package never arrived.
The shell is pretty much the same. The silver cover on the Sensei is more smooth, though.
The insides are all different, though. For one it's equipped with an ARM processor, meaning it does all the calculations and sends them directly to the computer, cutting latency and (a small amount of) processing power from the CPU.
The top button is no longer a button on the D3 mouse, thats kinda lame and hints at this being tossed together.
It doesnt even give you a proper specs page....hmm.
I was considering buying one, but not now. All evidence points to this thing being craptastic...
You should wait for a few reviews before even considering buying this thing.
Why would anyone bet any amount other than 10,000/100,000. You either get to guess 1 date for 10k, or 2 dates for 100k. Betting anything in between those 2 amounts is just using more of your own money to win the same amount.
Dont forget the date problem....Tuesday has a much much higher chance of happening.
Variable bets only make sense if you are betting against the house. This is more like a lottery, where each ticket has an equal chance to win and you can buy multiple tickets if you wish.
These bets dont make sense at all.
Imo it needs to be restarted, make a set amount, and only allow Tuesday picks. If the game comes out on a day besides Tuesday, then whichever date is closer wins. You could as allow people to bet on more than one day, but I would put some sort of limit on it.
Does anyone else have a friend or friends who are "convinced"
Diablo 3 will be horrible just because they changed stuff and
didn't just remake D2 with better graphics.
Pretty much in my friends eyes they should of just revamped Diablo 2 graphics and
not change a thing. Where as I completely disagree and like what they have
done with the game.
What our your guys thoughts about this?
I have a friend who was addicted to D2, but is now a WoW addict. He is convinced that D3 wont be as good as WoW.
Its not that he is afraid of things changing from D2 to D3, he just doesnt like change. D3 is gonna have to shine to stop his WoW addiction.
it depends on your group, if your grouped with a bunch of scrubs and/or people will low crappy gear in inferno, then yes it will definitely be harder then solo, IF in fact you are decently geared and good at playing. so it entirely depends on the group skill as a whole vs. your skill alone. if your pretty good at the game with decent gear id say soloing would be your best bet for clearing inferno/farming because when you get grouped, its with 3 random people and the chances are high that most/all of them wont be good/geared players.
World of Warcraft has sucked out your soul.
Mine too.

Technically the M60 is a FPS mouse, but I don't think I would ever actually use all 9 of those side buttons.
