A; No shit bud, Blizzard is a business. Making smart business moves kind of.... comes with the territory.
B; D3 took 5 years to develop, stop citing the start time as when Diablo 2 launched.
C; Yes, they took less time to develop their games at the start, and pooled all their resources into one game at a time. Why? Because they were a tiny company, and the games they made were really simple.
D; You give no actual facts or points as to why you think D3 is broken / sub-par / superdy duper bad, you just spout of those words.
E; People didn't want to move from SC1 to SC2 because SC1 was almost perfectly balanced, and it had become an Esport. Players had spent countless hours on perfecting their game to beat other players, it only makes sense some were hesitant.
I also like how you just assume the million annual pass subs would have just quit wow, I like making up numbers too!
TLDR; More QQ about Blizzard being a company, and a smart one at that, and you don't like a game they have made. Mind if I check up on you in a week, see if you still play?

Catalept posted a message on Diablo 3 was created as a marketing tool for World of WarcraftBlizzard releases a game you didn't like as much as you thought you would. Explanation:Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
1. BLIZZARD CONSPIRACY!
2. BLIZZARD LIES!
3. BLIZZARD HAS DIFFERENT IDEAS THAN ME ABOUT WHAT MAKES A GAME GOOD, AND THAT MAKES THEM WRONG!
4. NOT EVERYTHING BLIZZARD MAKES WILL FEEL TAILOR-MADE FOR ME, BUT THAT'S LIFE!
lol. Just kidding about that last one. It's completely unreasonable.
...
Why do people need to construct such baroque narratives in which to couch their disappointment? -

Thats still a far way until you reach contempt for solo players and pvpers.
Uh, no. Part of solo play in a computer game is being able to sit on a plane, bus, a cafe somewhere, and just play your damn game. And PVP doesn't exist, and when it does, it will probably be walled off from regular game assets.
D3 has some amazing production values and truly innovative elements, but that doesn't mean you need to distort the most basic facts to defend their decisions, decisions which do have legitimate business motivations.
Oh, so you hide your always-online hate behind something else. Got it. They had other business considerations like security, too, but, you must keep the Blizzard hate machine running, and of course, to people like you, making money is criminal. They should give you your games for free, and always written just for you. Get over it. Life doesn't work that way.
You knew it was always online months before release, so why are you whining about it AFTER you bought the game? If you felt that strongly about it, why buy it at all? No sympathy here, sorry. No one hid that single-player was still online.
But, if you don't like it, Torchlight II is around the corner, and while it'll be good, imo, it'll have the stuff you really wanted -- a D2 updated with a lot less changes. Have fun. -

Vergessen posted a message on build question for D3The AMD is cheaper...the Intel is more powerful. Pick your poison.Posted in: Technical Support
If this is purely for Diablo 3, save yourself the $$ and get the AMD. If you are just upgrading in general, get the Intel.
If it was me, I would get the 2500k (in fact, I did :P) -

Vergessen posted a message on im still thinking build this computer in a few monthsMost people won't notice the performance difference between the 2500k and the 3570k. However, if you plan on overclocking, the Ivy Bridge will probably be able to achive higher overclocks.Posted in: Technical Support
But really, unless you are going to SLI/Crossfire high end GPU's (which you don't appear to be), the 2500k is more than enough.
If you can wait, then definitely go for the 3570k (they aren't coming until April). Otherwise, stick with the 2500k. -

It's between the XPS17 and the Sager. Based on the prices and the specs you gave me, I'd say the Sager is a better deal. They make great quality laptops (from what I've read, never owned one).
Sager gets my vote. -

Interesting bug I spotted. I (and other users obviously) are unable to add rep points to certain posts or members. Why is that?
Yup, same for me in Chrome. It's the signature that overlays above the reputation button. -

Two things I've seen that were essential on the previous board but which doesn't really work out all too well here:
1. It's hard to see which threads have new posts; currently there's an extremely thin black line to the left of the thread name. Constantly squinting and leaning in towards the screen whenever one enters a new forum is not a pleasant experience. Either making the line much more noticeable or bringing back the old design where unread threads were bold and read threads weren't would be much obliged.
2. There's no easy way to go to the first unread post of a thread. I have to click the tiny little arrow first to get a preview and from there go to the first unread, rather than through one click going to the first unread, as was possible under the previous design.
3. This isn't as big of a deal, but the Wysiwyg interface isn't my cup of tea. And that you can turn it off is great, but this also prevents you from using all the nifty buttons that bold text or create lists. In the previous version, there was no wysiwyg interface, but it was still possible to mark a piece of text and haave it all turned into a list. If this can be brought back, so that it is active while the wysiwyg interface is disabled in the top left of the posting window, it would be great. Essentially what I want is to be able to push the buttons without having the formatting applied to my reply window.
I started to write a word document of bugs/issues with the new design and these three are also my biggest points about the new design that I really would love for to be fixed. Then there's lots of small stuff but if these three were fixed the enjoyment of browsing and posting on the forum would go up to "almost perfect" in my book :). -

Which amounts to a whole 2400 IF you crit. You could easily get more health if you decided to go with Life on Hit items. As of now, Life on Hit is better and will be for quite some time.

You mean they want us to actually PLAY the game? Perish the thought!

Perhaps the class just isn't for everyone. Thus far it's been the easiest to go through content for me. I'm certainly not the only one who thinks so.

Hah, exactly what I thought. I'm guessing he hasn't played a Diablo game before.

Keep in mind that this isn't WoW. D3 is a hack and slash that is centered around the gear you can get. I'd imagine some play for the story, but getting the best gear is THE end-game regardless of how many difficulties or levels there are. Unless Blizzard tries to change the hack and slash genre (action rpg), I wouldn't expect much more in the future. More levels, more gear, more spells, etc. If you are looking for more, D3 may not be the kind of game for you. None outside Blizz can say for sure. However, compared to so many other games out there that are completely linear and do have a definite end to the game, D3 has quite a bit of replay-ability. Then there's always PvP.
What's the point of an endless dungeon when you can replay entire difficulties whenever you want? PvE rankings...possible, who knows. I could see how many people would enjoy competing with others.

DN was made by two separate dev companies. Likewise, D3 has been made by at least two separate dev teams. Blizz North was a completely different group than those working on it now. Shoot, Blizz North was essentially a completely different company as they were still largely those from Condor. Between many key people leaving Blizz North and then being shut down completely, who knows how many hiatuses and dev teams were involved. Given the turnover, one could easily see three+ completely different teams working on the title.
WoW was created by one team. Poor communication and leadership were not the causes. A series of unfortunate corporate incidents is what caused the long dev time. D3 just happen to get caught up in the middle of it all.

You don't know what a "troll" is if you think he is one.

They never said anything of the sort.
D3 passing SK is nice, but really it doesn't affect us or the game. It's been little more than a sideshow that many made it out to be more than it is. But it has been an amusing nonetheless.
