Chat Channels in D2 were incubators for trolls, bots, and standoffish behavior. No Thank you.

Well said. Nothing good has ever come from D2 chat, and there's no reason to think D3 will be different. There's a reason why the public chat feature was such a late add to D3

    Quote from Balzacc

So... yeah. I was talking about Diablo 3 being pushed to Q2 (although I think that April is still "early 2012") with my friend and he was claiming that Activision is the reason of D3 delays. He thinks that Acti is telling Blizz what to cut from the game, so they can later add some elements as... DLC...

Yes, I think it's silly idea, but... It just terrified me so much, now I'm being paranoid about this :P Has Blizz ever said something about having or not having DLC for Diablo 3? I'm sure fanbase would be very upset with downloadable content... Do you think it's possible that we will get DLC?

DLC aside, Activision has no say in how Blizzard does business and vice versa. They are two different entities under one company.

    Quote from argile_cruiser

Blizzard makes the games Activision publishes them. This does not happen.
(plus dlc isn't how blizz rolls)

Activision Blizzard is the publisher for Activision and Blizzard.

posted a message on Is Inferno mode really needed?
    Quote from Nanthao5

Ummm, yeah, but why are you trying to say by this? Inferno is good, and it will serve well for year or two - but we need better system, which will keep us playing til Blizzard shuts the servers. Some good motivation, some new system. Endless dungeon, PvE rankings, I dont know, its their job to make it. But Inferno is more of "temporary" solution. It "just" makes you grind not only bosses, but also something else. But is is not the final solution.

Keep in mind that this isn't WoW. D3 is a hack and slash that is centered around the gear you can get. I'd imagine some play for the story, but getting the best gear is THE end-game regardless of how many difficulties or levels there are. Unless Blizzard tries to change the hack and slash genre (action rpg), I wouldn't expect much more in the future. More levels, more gear, more spells, etc. If you are looking for more, D3 may not be the kind of game for you. None outside Blizz can say for sure. However, compared to so many other games out there that are completely linear and do have a definite end to the game, D3 has quite a bit of replay-ability. Then there's always PvP.

What's the point of an endless dungeon when you can replay entire difficulties whenever you want? PvE rankings...possible, who knows. I could see how many people would enjoy competing with others.

Nah, Dukem Nukem it has been like 15 years. Diablo was confirmed only in 2008. But it was speculated in Diablo 2 time.
Duke Nukem was developed for 15 years. Diablo 3 is developed for 12 years at the moment. It probably wont be more, DNF will stay on first place.

Duke Nukem went to multiple developers and had short statuses of hiatus. Blizzard has always been the only developer of D3. Huge difference and IMO makes D3 still the worst culprit (HL Ep. 3 being in second).

DN was made by two separate dev companies. Likewise, D3 has been made by at least two separate dev teams. Blizz North was a completely different group than those working on it now. Shoot, Blizz North was essentially a completely different company as they were still largely those from Condor. Between many key people leaving Blizz North and then being shut down completely, who knows how many hiatuses and dev teams were involved. Given the turnover, one could easily see three+ completely different teams working on the title.

World of Warcraft is a much larger game than Diablo (Bashiok said D3 was about the same size as D2) and it took them less time to develop. Like I said, poor communication and leadership. The team they had working on vanilla WoW was much better.

WoW was created by one team. Poor communication and leadership were not the causes. A series of unfortunate corporate incidents is what caused the long dev time. D3 just happen to get caught up in the middle of it all.

Would SOPA matter if you kids got a fucking job and paid for stuff?

I've often wondered how many opposing SOPA do so because they want to continue downloading everything.

For those wondering if the US can affect the outside, just have a look at this:

    http://en.wikipedia....ur_Sites_v._2.0

This Spanish website: http://rojadirecta.com http://rojadirecta.org was exterminated by them.

Yup, the DMCA has led to the US shutting down many .com, .org., and .net websites.

@ Superfula, It doesn't matter exactly what the bill says, that's the part you don't understand with SOPA, and it's what you didn't understand about the Korea issue. The problem is that this bill is so easy to abuse, and it will be.

Actually, it does matter what the bill says as that's exactly what'll happen. This sounds like more conspiracy theory stuff that you are known for. Even Google, Facebook, etc understand what the bill says. They are in favor of getting rid of the foreign websites that this bill is going after. What they don't like are the proposed DNS changes (which are no longer in the bill), and what the bill may do to ISPs and payment processing companies.

This bill is constructed for corporate censorship, and not stopping piracy. It'll be invasive, it won't be effective, and it has so many negative impacts

If it were for corporate censorship then it would be something that affects ALL websites worldwide. It's clearly targeted at foreign-based websites that ONLY serve illegal content. That being the case, there is no logical evidence that points to corporate censorship. That's just baseless accusations.

I cannot fathom how you can support it.

And now it's clear you read nothing that I posted, as I was very clear on multiple occasions that I didn't support SOPA. As the rest of your post is more baseless theories and insults, I'm not going to address them.

Your first post said SOPA would affect Reddit and other US sites. I then gave plenty of evidence showing that isn't the case. Now you go on some completely new tangent claiming that it doesn't matter what the bill says, and at the same time making some crazy accusations with zero proof to back them up. Given that you still think SK is what caused the D3 delay, I'm not at all surprised you have taken this line of thinking with SOPA. Time to add you to the ignore list I guess.

Even is Sopa IS just affecting 'foreign' sites, that's only for now. Let this pass and it will pave the way to another bill to shutdown any US site that has any pirated content. Hell this site has videos of D3 beta on an emulated server, that's grounds for a shutdown without notice. This is a bad bill, no matter who it is affecting. Please don't let it pass.

They wouldn't amend SOPA to do that. It would be something added to the DMCA, as it already governs US sites.

Would they try to get a completely new bill pushed through that does what SOPA does but only for US sites? Doubtful, considering that the DMCA already exists. They may try to amend the DMCA in the future (distant future) to mimic SOPA, but if SOPA won't get out of the Senate because of a lack of votes, no way a law affecting US sites in the same way would get anywhere close.
