A bedroom door shall NEVER face a stair case (source).
Stairs should not end at a door, such as the front door, or face a bedroom door. This creates poison arrows or killing chi (double that if a mirror reflects the staircase). If a staircase stops at a bedroom door, it can cause energy to drain away from the residents of the bedroom, causing financial and health-related problems related to low energy, such as low thyroid or depression. -

Good thing that game is what.. 12 years old? If you want to act like a smart ass at least do it right. Don't come up with examples that have zero relevance.

A small percentage of people were farming the hardest content because they got stupid lucky with drops, put in tons of hours early on, or are relatively talented compared to the player base at large (or a combination of the three), and as such were raking in hundreds of millions of gold at an alarmingly fast rate.
Meanwhile, the other 95% of the playerbase was farming for what amounts to a pittance of the necessary currency and gear to progress beyond Act 4 Hell and Act 1 Inferno (even if you are a very skilled player) because the economy was in absolute shambles thanks to gold being nearly worthless from the aforementioned farming class raking in the dough.
So what did patch 1.03 do? It allowed the vast majority of the playerbase to actually have a chance at moving beyond the same content they've been grinding for weeks because it was incredibly difficult, aside from winning the loot lottery, to move beyond that content. The other side-effect? The "elite" group of players who got stupid lucky in the first two weeks of release crying about how they actually have to share the spoils now; how, heaven forbid, anyone else has a chance to play the same content in the same gear as they do -

I doubt that very much. Why should he be 'nice for the sake of his career'? He could just as easily have stated in a polite manner that he didn't quite agree with the way D3 went, which definitely wouldn't have jeopardized his career. I'm inclined to agree with AudioCG, I chuckle a bit every time someone mentions how Blizzard has degraded and how untouchable Blizzard was back in the way. D1 and D2 had a lot of cheesy bits, and Schaefer is correct, D1's story was barely there and D2's story felt very much like an excuse just to kill demons.Quote from OneTwoSC
Yeah but atleast back then the voice acting was bearable and they didn't have the power to do invasive cut-scenes every 5 mins.
And that Diablo 2 dev was clearly being nice for the sake of his career.
What's funny is, people say D3 lost the gothic feel, well guess what, a decade ago people said the exact same thing about D2. I remember quite clearly how people bashed the hell out of D2 on the old diablo2.net forums. People are so prone to forget, and in a few years, D3 will be seen in as high regard as D2, once all the small issues are out of the way.
I'd say D3's story is in line with D2, it's there to get you to kill demons, and that's where it succeeded.Quote from OneTwoSC
What facts? Everyone here who liked the story just said "I liked it" and gave no facts or essay. Even you did it, except for the quote from the D2 dev, who's response is about as safe as Jay Wilson's on the story feedback.
I liked the story because it portrayed the High Heavens very well, and it felt like a good chapter in the Diablo series. I can go from Act to Act and break down what I enjoyed, but I'm not going to. Let's just say, I enjoyed it, you didn't. Different strokes for different folks. -

I always knew our cat had mad ninja skillz but he got me good this time. The top of the armoire at the condo became a favorite perch for the cat. We figured out after a while he was launching from the bed's foot-board but this time I'm not so sure how the hell he got up there because the jump is about 7 feet from either point.
Got some long exposure night shots from the back yard, need to work on my settings. I had to put the camera into bulb mode and give it a 2 minute exposure at ISO 200 to get this. I'm thinking future ISO 400 to 600 for 30 seconds to 1 minute to keep the stars from blurring as the earth turns.

Tyraen posted a message on What did Blizzard do wrong in D3?Ruppgu - I am not a fanboy, I agree the game has issues. What I don't like is people being unconstructive, or simply downright uneducated, in their posts. If patch 1.0.3 had come out, and not solved any of the issue, *THAT* would have been a good time for a post like this. Now, 4 weeks after launch, discussing issues that are not only old, beaten, and tired, but slated to be fixed, is just wasting peoples time. It implies the OP has an axe to grind, or simply out to inspire negative sentiment against blizzard.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Mr Tax Man - adding a few - even 10 or 15 - servers to your tax company is nowhere near the same scale of investment. The financial firm I worked for as a server admin probably spent more in research on server scaling and logistics of handling bursts in user activity than you earn in a year - unless you work for H&R Block, in which case you *may* be close.
EDIT: The crappy drops are there for a reason, I believe. (1) to provide crafting materials, and (2) to generate gold. Admittedly, only 2 is at all useful currently, with the cost and general fail rate of crafting currently, but I expect it will get improved. -

Honestly,
- Their skill system blows. I look at it and I see clear best choices, when you are in inferno you have very little room to play around also.
- Auto stats pretty much did ruin the game. This made items have much much bigger importance, which fails because their itemization blows so bad.
- Lack of variety in items, uniques are worthless and provide no actual unique affixes, they are just beefed up magics.
- No PvP as of yet, fact they are sticking their hands in the PvP scares the hell out of me, they can't even comprehend and handle the "core" foundation of Diablo how are they going to handle an "after thought" feature?
- Inferno while passable, is just cheap. Demon / Dark souls is hard until you learn how to play and learn the motions like a good old NES game. D3, you can learn everything, but it won't matter a damn bit if you got lesser gear or a bad roll.
- Leech blows, I want life leech and mana leech. I want to be able to build my guy so I can have unlimited resource. The Amazon outshines the DH by a ton in this factor. I don't want to be forced to use 7 different skills because the developers think it creates fun. It doesn't, forcing me to play a game I was already accustom to for over a decade in a different manner isn't fun. Why do they even have leech in the game? It is worthless thus far ha.
I can probably list crap all day, but yea.
I have to disagree with you on almost all counts. I feel the new skills system is head and shoulders above the older point based system. Yes, it needs some balance work, and yes, it does have some let downs in certain areas. Same thing with auto stats. I have yet to see a convincing argument as to why being "allowed" to spend your points however you want, but actually having to put them in one build, otherwise you're super gimped later.
I like the variety of items so far, but I will say I wish Uniques had some unique affixes. Although if memory serves, the only thing really unique about uniques was they either had the best + to skills, or gave you skills from other classes. Regular items could do the former, but I believe only uniques gave the later, and even then, I only can think of a handful of extra skills that people used, and those were the overpowered Rune Words. Other wise, uniques were just the super obvious best. I think that's just as bad as them being no better then rares in general. I'd prefer a middle ground - the very best rares are the best, but Uniques either give you a unique option (I'd love to see a unique that gives a monk barb's leap skill, for example), or are generally better, except for that 1 in a million super rare perfect item.
PvP, well, considering everything I've heard from people who played it said it was awesome, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt. We'll see though.
Inferno is cheap, atm. But they have acknowledged this, have said they will change it, and, imo, probably expected it to be unbalanced. They did so because they figured that hard for them is easy for their best fans. In which case, I'm glad they started super hard, instead of having to be begged to make it hard. But, in the end, they basically did not test it, because they purposely made it too hard. I guess they went just a tad overboard.
Leech is also underpowered. I believe they also acknowledged this, and are planning to look into and fix this.
I also agree they messed up the servers. I don't know how or why. Maybe they just gave it to the incompetent intern. Or maybe they grossly underestimated sales (due to incompetent marketing dept).
Finally, I think they messed up the WD's mana. Don't get me wrong, he's my favorite class, but I just think that mana is boring and generic, and without mana pots, I think it just shows that it's a rather broken system, if the goal is to get people "into the action." Personally, I want them to expand on his Blood Ritual passive, and somehow make his mana related to his HP (maybe turn mana into stamina - skills are powered by his HP, but he has a limited stamina, preventing him from spamming anything?) -

There's difference between being a fan and a fanboy, you're advocating everyone to be a fanboy and if you dare critize the game and point out it's flaws all of the sudden you are simply bashing the game. Not to express how displeased you are with the results but no simply to do so to spite others, really that's what you believe?
Go look up other fansites, go beyond gaming just look at sports even there die hard sport fans will not simply say but will shout if something is amis due to their dedication.
Final note, opinions don't have to be positive to be constructive, If you dislike negative comments on any subject i suggest you refrain from using any forums where anyone can voice their opinions freely.
There's a difference between being critical and being a whiner. There are plenty of people who post here and the official forums with honest analysis about what they were expecting, and why they're disappointed, and what they'd like to see done differently. Those threads tend to garner respect and foster some interesting back and forth before passing quickly and quietly off the front page. People who disagree find middle ground, see things from other people's perspectives and put forth productive suggestions that they feel might satisfy both sides of an issue.
Then there are people who have a driving need to have their petty ego's protected by by seeing other people agree with them in their nerd-rage. This is the sort of poster that cannot distinguish their own subjective opinion from an undeniable fact. "XYZ is clearly broken, and Blizzard doesn't care. They just want your muneez!" They bring nothing of value, but they drive heavy traffic because people get mad when they see blatant stupidity, and have a hard time not engaging. These threads stay on the front page for days at a time as people get invested in pointless "last word" competitions and the gravitational drama well sucks more people in constantly.
If the newspaper industry were doing better, these latter people could seek jobs as political or sports columnists. People whose job it is to put forth loud and logically incongruous arguments on a regular basis, because the awful truth about the nature of media consumption is that in the aggregate people will spend more time engaging with something stupid and offensive than they will with something thoughtful and insightful. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

This is what all of you need to know, it's a whiny thread from a derpa derp who is no longer on these forums and hopefully not apart of this community anymore. The fact that people keep posting is a reminder of how many bandwagon community members are just posting crap here and dragging things down.
