    like a votekick?

That can and will be abused though.

uhm.. lol? loot isnt shared or increased in co op. theres zero reason to kick someone for any other reason then because they suck or are leeching

So naive, have you never played online games before? People are bastards, and they would happily kick someone just for the "LOLs". For example, 3 friends + a random, "Oh lets kick him at the boss", vote kick initiated and bam, the random is gone for no other reason then the friends are childish assholes.

Yup, well it's the same problem but turned around. It's a matter of who you are going to "trust". Will you trust everyone to play along like you are supposed to not abusing and leeching on your party members, or will you trust players to be responsible with the vote kick option and not abuse that? I'd say the second is the preferable way since that at least gives players an option to react to abusers. It has to be implemented carefully though and continued abuse of the vote system should be punished.

Pretty much anything goes in this thread besides trolling, flaming, pornography, general common sense stuff.

If I wasn't so tired I would see this as a challenge to do all these in the one post

Holy crap.. I just read Daemaro's post and thought the exact same thing, but I was too lazy to think of something that was clever enough to be funny... then I read your post.

Great minds think alike.. (even though they are lazy :D?).

In relation to the known universe, the sun barely exists.

How can something "barely exist"? Don't you either exist or not :)?

And the link is kinda cool, seen it before and even though as Umpa said, scale as a "truth" is rather deceptive, it's still cool to swoop through all the different kinds of things that we have found in the universe..

Keep in mind there are repercussions but you just don't see them all the time. There is a bar that fills as you get warnings and once it is full that is a permanent ban. Removing posts always comes with a warning and a PM to the user. The mods are also allowed to use their own judgement as far as handing out bans so it may differ from person to person. I assure you though every report gets looked into thoroughly and we do our best to keep the peace. Keep on reporting and we'll keep on reading. :)

tl;dr: Watch the F out or banhammer strikes!

And Diablofans is my fav fansite obviously :).

I thought about the 7950 but the drivers are still in their infancy and I'm likely going to have problems with a lot of games. Still weary of the 7970 for that reason too, though its a bit better. I may just settle for the basic 6950's CF, I wish I could get the HIS ones though. :(

    These? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161372

If they are out of stock at your retailer you could buy them separately, maybe?

Possibly. I thought about the 7970 but I did a lot of research and the 7970 is about the same as crossfire 6950's performance wise... Also read some information that said no games currently will even make use of the PCIe 3's 16GB/sec, games only work off of 8GB/s right now. So I dunno yet. I'll keep an eye out for the 7950.

And of course the place I was going to buy my GPU's from just went out of stock. They said they'd get more but no ETA, just my luck.

Aye, true that. Two 6950 in CF do ~equal or better performance than a 7970. The reason why I'd recommend a single GPU vs CF is in regards to the microstuttering problem that dual GPU setups can get. This will probably not be an issue with 6950 cards since they can run most games at max settings with high enough framerate that this becomes a non-issue, but you never know.

I haven't personally experienced the microstuttering problem since I've never had Dual GPU, but I've read a fair bit about it. Some people notice it more than others (and some won't notice it at all) and some cards/games have it more than others.

Everything combined though I'll always recommend a single GPU solution vs a CF/SLI if the performance is about equal and the price difference is not too huge. So moving on to the prices..

In price the 6950 CF wins vs the 7970, the performance is also on average better so obviously 6950 CF wins as far as "bang for the buck" goes (not considering potential microstuttering).

Another contestant is the 7950 that was released today. Tests I've seen show that the card looks like a very solid card that, while obviously a bit weaker than the 7970, also can overclock very well, potentially surpassing a default clock 7970.

Another thing to consider may be that a single GPU will not draw as much power as a CF setup.

Aaaah well. Tbh any choice you make, whether it be 6950CF, 7970 or 7950, it'll kick ass!

To go with Crossfire support and two AMD Radeon HD 6950's or just go with a single AMD Radeon HD 7970. Also... to go with a SSD or just stick to HDD which I'm more familar with. Oh technology, why are you making me your slave? :(

I'd say SSD is definitely worth it. It's one of the upgrades that you notice the most (epic startup/shutdown time for windows & applications, also load time in games if you put them on there). The practical difference from a mechanical disk is not very noticeable so "familiarity" isn't that big a deal ;).

Also I'd generally recommend a single GPU chip over Crossfire/SLI any day of the week. HD7950 is coming out this week as well, so maybe that's an option?

posted a message on Book of Cain. Not to be taken all literally?
    Quote from Entity

I bought the book two days ago and finished the entire thing, good read you should buy it if you haven't already. I am writing this article because I've ready every book for diablo besides the comics which I'll get around to reading soon enough.

I have noticed some differing perspectives throughout the book and realized that Deckard is constantly implying that what he is writing may actually not be the truth. But that this is what he believes the truth to be.

I'll start with the first thing I noticed, LILITH. In the Book of Cain, she is described almost as undead and bones with a human form in between. The pictures, hereand here0

This is odd though because In the Sin war trilogy which is stated as Cannon by Blizzard she is stated as being "..Rather, it was taller and hideously scaled, with a mass of fiery quills for hair, quills that ran down the spin to...to a reptilian tail ending in savage barbs. Where the delicate hands had been were now clawed fingers--four, not five. Worse, the feet were like hooves, yet splayed, too."

As we can clearly understand by this first hand description from Uldyssian Ul-Diomedes She was more reptillian and beast like rather than the undead images and descriptions given in the book of cain.

The second is Rathma. This fellow is said to like like a pale human draped in an elegant dark black robe that seems to have a life of its own. now in The Book of Cain he is described as a lizard, or a giant serpent as seen here.

This is quite confusing considering that The book of cain was supposed to tell us everything about Diablo universe, but instead seems to be going against earlier cannon. This is only stregnethed by the fact that Cain himself says he does not know what to believe and includes varying Authors and works from which he takes his knowledge. So should we believe that the Book of Cain is the definitive lore collection? I don't think so, So i think it is safe to assume that Some of what is written in this book can't be taken literally. What is your opinion on the matter?

I think as you say it shouldn't be taken as the final truth. He does ask a lot of questions and many of his findings are speculative. It even says on the page with the serpent that it is the necromancers who has depicted Rathma as a serpent but Cain is asking if it's truth or just a legend.

The art is probably just his sketches or copies of other people's works so it's not certain they are accurate. After all he is just a human, he can't know everything, he has just studied a lot about it.
So yea I agree with you. The book should not be taken as the absolute lore colletion, but rather as is, a collection of knowledge gathered by a character in the actual world.
