Yeah, Madeon is amazing! I wish he'd release some own stuff though (apart from pop culture which almost falls in as a remix anyway). He's young though so I guess there's still time ;).
Feb 21, 2012There's a difference between game difficulty and game "annoyingness". I'd say having ~3000 different kinds of runes that takes inventory spaces would be filed under the latter.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
It was not a matter of "too hard", it was just something that would quickly become a nuisance as far as inventory management goes.
Now as said the new system has it's cons as well, but I doubt we will see a return to drop based runes. I don't really know where you get the "it was a major part of boss runs" since we've never even experienced the previous system for ourselves.

Leila's new album. This chick is just so rad. There are vast amounts of electronic music out there that I think is garbage. But hers is rather exceptional I think.
Thanks for the tip. Checking this girl out and I'm liking it!

May satan guide your trolling ways...
I haven't answered yet and I'm not sure I'm even going to bother. It kinda feels like a waste of time to try to battle with a maniac who seems to spend half their life battling made-up satanist on the internet. Oh well, best of luck to you who try ;).
As for buying satanfans.com... it may just be worth the ~10bucks a year that it costs.. hm
Feb 20, 2012It's a rare spawn in that location only. It's a reference to the Diablo 1 quest where Adria wants you to find a mushroom. The flavor text is Deckard Cain's line when you ask him about it.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Feb 19, 2012I just recently got this message in my youtube inbox, my youtube name is VerityD3...Posted in: Off-Topic

Mar 16, 2011Aaw, I want that trip. Europe fail (I feel for you North Dakota, Vermont, Connecticut, Maryland or the province of Quebec people as well ).Posted in: News
Pretty cool contest nonetheless. I'm expecting some pretty intense stuff to come from this one.

All gear drops rates from the demo should not be taken into account for actual gameplay. They were altered highly to maximize the fun in the limited time frame.
I think we'll have to wait for beta to come along before making any assumptions about how commonly and in what way MF will appear. And even then Blizzard is likely to make adjustments before deciding on something. I'm liking the way they think about MF though. Although it was part of the MF-game in Diablo II that you in some cases had to weigh killing power vs MF on your gear. And that in itself does have its charm I still think what they are aiming for now is the right way to go. This way they keep the feel of control over your gear without diminishing your power/fun.
Feb 27, 2011Yeah, we don't know yet exactly what will be required to upgrade a gem. It might just be 1 gem and some additional material, or just 2 gems of the same quality and type.Posted in: News
And while only the first 5 may drop from mobs there may still be other ways to acquire the higher tier gems apart from drops.
To be honest I think I'm pretty fine with the highest tier gems being incredibly hard/time consuming to get. It adds nice flavour to the game and something to ultimately reach for to have if you want to perfect your character.

What this means is that you need to find a total of 98415 grade five Gems to get one grade fourteen Gem.
what is the math on this 'cause I'm not getting it. 5 to 14 means 9 levels of increase, 3^9= 19,683 2^9=512 and 4^9=262,144 Is there something big I am missing?
Just a typo, I edited in the correct number. (If I'm not missing something as well)
This is of course assuming the old upgrade rate of 3 gems -> 1 gem of the level above. As said in the article everything is still subject to change and we don't how the upgrading will work in the final product. We might just need 1 gem and some kind of other material. The artisan will most likely require gold for the service as well .

Wow... all this "Liking" on facebook and all the "Demonstration" are so stupid that I can't really believe it. Remember that time someone posted a suggestion for everyone to change their profile picture to something else to stop, what was it, world-hunger? I don't know, but point being, who the hell cares what your profile picture looks like?
I can assure everyone, no kid in africa got a stake or a pizza because 10 000 facebook-users changed their picture to a blue elephant.
It's bullshit, and who the hell cares if you "Like" their group called "Whenever I hear Miley Cyrus, I dance in secret."?
Blizzard should release these teasers without us having to motivate people into "Liking" a certain group. It has no purpose.
Facebook is a just a site where parents find embarrasing picture of their abroad kids and for creepy people to stalk their ex.
:Edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yIlX5ZKHRU This is what I am talking about, he makes a much better case then I do.
Although I kinda agree with you this is quite different. It has a purpose: free marketing for Blizzard.
Truth is they don't release news about the game development just to be super nice people, they do it to create hype and get people to know about the game and be hooked already before buying the game.. And it's working, on me at least

I am a little sad about the lack of pet control. I am sure with an improvement to AI they will be much better than they were in D2 but I was still hoping for at least a movement or targeting system. Oh well.
As for the NDA, I am glad that as soon as beta drops, the flood of Diablo information will come forth.
With the zombies, how can anyone complain about having zombies? There a must in any "horror" game.
The laser thing to me is more of an aesthetic than function issue. I would just like to see some sort of whippy motion when twirling it around.
Yes, I agree! I'm not too concerned about pet control though, I think it will be worked out just fine and I will probably not miss targeting features that much.
I too think a whip effect to Disintegrate could improve the feel of the spell a lot. Although that could make it maybe too weak against fast moving creatures, depending on how responsive you make it. They could probably balance that as well though. We'll have to wait and see how it plays out with runes and such.
Zombies & no NDA <3

Oh no, now people might think I'm from Holland!

I don't think so. That's why they are hiring more people. They want to develop this alongside with Diablo III. The main team will still focus on the PC game (most likely).Quote from ansl
I just hope this doesn't slow down the release date of DIII for PC's... you guys think it will?
Quote from Azriel
In before "it's gonna lag PC version production".
I dunno how it's going to work on consoles. I'm still imagining myself holding a 360 controller and trying to move my guy in isometric. Just doesn't sit right with me. If they have it in third person view... not gonna like it. Not at all...
EDIT: ... why, ansl, did you ninja me and completely debunk my whole bit on the "it's gonna lag blablabla."
WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN?!
Technically, Diablo 3 doesn't use isometric, it's full 3D now. It's just viewed from the same angle as in Diablo 2 (which was isometric). I don't think it would be a problem, loads of console games use the same kind of camera angles, for example, Fifa (yes, quite different from Diablo, but basically the same camera view).

Do we need this again?
Here's the last big topic about consoles: http://www.diablofan...-3-on-consoles/
It included exactly the same news, except less recent: "We are exploring the possibility to make D3 on consoles blabla".
I just don't see the need to start yet -ANOTHER- completely pointless debate on this matter, because this is always what happens with this.
It is true that this have been up before, but in the way that Blizzard was thinking about it. Now we have confirmation that they wish to try to develop a console version, which is something I think many would like to know.
Also, they actually didn't say they are trying tosdf do Diablo III bam to console, but "we’re currently exploring a Diablo-related concept for consoles." This could be something like maybe a Battle Arena based game for the console, or anything basically.
Talking about Diablo III related stuff is what we do on this forum. Since the game is not out yet you could argue that all discussions are pointless.. but we still like it
Nov 15, 2010It's interesting.. I do think that, as Blizzard says, with proper care Diablo III could very well fit for consoles. The general gameplay (slashing monsters) is indeed fitting. I just hope they won't make any adjustments to the PC game just to make it easier for consoles.Posted in: News
I don't know about not getting the game out "in time" for this generation of consoles. You can probably do everything you want with the game on the current generation (at least xbox/ps3) so I see no reason to not get it out there. And the majority of the game will already be done, it's mostly porting and adjusting the ui for console that needs to be done. Should not take a huge amount of time.
