I won't play a MOBA I dislike just for getting a cosmetic reward. But wishing every other player GL HF and if you just rush it, fast runs.

Diablo 3 is a very easy game. It appeals to alot of players that can't properly play video games.
Trust me, I don't want to be rude but I got several friends (I like them but they can't play) that can't handle 75-80 solo and, when I look at their gear/paragon/whatever they could hand me their character and I finish almost 90 w/o fishing.
The fact is depending how much determination someone is willing to invest into the game the GR70 requirement locks some of those players out.
I think that's a really bad thing.
But tbh, someone shouldn't even argue since if Primals will go live as they intended now they are not really a new tier of items. Someone can as well forget about those.
As of right now they are like nothing else than usual Ancients...

Boring change. In fact it's not even really a change to ancients. It's like almost the same as before.
Why not keep primals as they were first introduced? It was not perfect but at least something new.
Now it's just like no change at all.
I hope they re-consider this. But after all there were just too many whiners. So we end up with the complete same items again.
It would've at least added some sort of item hunt. Now it's just so dull... they could as well delete Primals completely.
I've read some really interesting changes that they couldve make to Primals (e.g. not craftable, higher stat values like crit, cdr & ats, 2 re-rolls at the mystic). But they are all gone, now we're (hopfully not) ended with no change at all...

Now this is what I get from the patch.
Randomly getting kicked out of the game, screen freezing, map/interface disappearing, many performance issues overall
Rifts got: endless dead ends (which were at least filled with mobs before), very weird elite distribution (they changed something here), big areas with no mobs at all - I admire the bigger mappool in grifts, but seriously that's a downgrade...wasn't this supposed to improve?
Reflects dmg on elites is instant skip for me. The dmg is completely out of control in my opinion.
In melee range you can't see when it's activating and you just getting mauled instantly.
I'm usually not that kind of a guy, but yeah those are the obvious changes for me in that patch.

Well they buffed the damage of the Dust Devils Rune by 50% (120 -> 180) . This affects all cases if used with or without the set.
The old WotW Set got a 6pc bonus that buffed the Dust Devils from 120% to 2,500% Weapon Dmg.
Now with the changes all Whirlwind Damage will be increased by 800%
Old Set:
340% WW Dmg - 2,500% DD Dmg
New Set
3,060% WW Dmg - 1,620% DD Dmg

I have talked about the combusion bug on archon that grants a tal stack (even if you stack lightning, cold or arcane % what should give all archon abilities the responsive elemental dmg while using vyr 2 piece).
The ability to combine 4/6 sets is pretty much intended I would say
The class doesnt matter. They should obviously know that this is possible

The amazing part is that people find these things at all. To this day I've never ran across a bug that was game changing. I always end up with a "oh i died to this random thing that i had no control over, that's cool" or "wtf am i looking at, what just happened" lol the internet is a amazing place and the stuff people can come up with or find is mind boggling at times.
tbh, testing is why some builds come up. Only going to diablofans and copying a build and mindlessly playing the game is ok. It's not my cup of tea.
There are several minor bugs or mechnanics that can be abused to your advantage. I don't call this cheating. In case of this topic right here, yeah it's too obvious that it's not intended and it gives a huge advantage.I'm still wondering if I'm getting banned again for using the combustion rune on archon for my speedfarm build to proc the fire rasha stack (probably not since alot of wizard using the vyr/rasha speedfarm build this season). It's clearly a minor bug that even after giving feedback to Blizzard haven't changed this patch. So I'm using it. Is it cheating? I would say no. But you never know what Blizzard decides.
Last Season you were allowed to used a very impactful bug (firebug build), this Season you are not. I think it's pretty clear that the playerbase in general are clueless what they may or may not use.

no it's not flawed.Quote from Frozenembers»
trying to "help" new players with vaults is very noble but you also kill for them the best part of the game.
helping a paragon 600 guy is much better since they really enjoy the game for longer than only 2 hours and don't get bored immediately when they feel the progress is "done".
That logic is flawed. The 600 paragon guy might be getting burnt out and about to quit, where a new guy might be just getting into it and could outlast the guy who is already 600.
first of i have experienced that alot to back up my comment
the para 600 guy has all gear and just wants to play / grind the game. so there is no problem in giving him gold for greater rift empowerments and stuff...
some low guy just wants to experience the game until he got a full set or maybe too. test them out and then quit.
it's actually quite common that way. ALOT of people just run through a game for 1 week and get the next one.
in that case I feel it's a waste to help these people. they just play the game 3 days instead of 1 week. so you taking away gameplay for them
In that case it seems it's a big help but it's just...bad. -

I foresee that Delsere's if kept this way will be the new top contender, it has the downright highest survivability and now it will have the highest dmg as well for wizards and still be amazing for teams with all the buffs to the party from the Slow Time runes and 25% DMG reduction, which brings it to 50% adding the rune as well... if they stack.
Since the damage reduction from the bubble acts on you and the debuff from the bubble rune I think they do not stack additively.
You get a plain 50% damage reduction and the enemies are debuffed and deal 25% damage. So you get nly half of the 75% damage the enemied deal to you. This brings you a total of 67,5% damage reduction.
Your team-mates it is a 25% reduction from the bubble and 25% less damage from enemies for a total of 43,75% damage reduction.
I for myself love the Delsere set and I'm happy to see more possibilities with the skill you can use with them.
that dmg mitigation rune of slow time is worded as if it only reduces the dmg of melee/ranged mobs and won't reduce the dmg of elite affixes cus they are not "monsters that hit you". don't know if it's really a flat dmg mitigation from all sources
Woh with 100% EB skill dmg bonus. now it's obvious to do a EB only build

someone complaining about "getting a life" when people dedicate too much free time into a game (in your opinion!) and then on the other hand calling other people morons because of maybe overreacting? i find this kinda amusing sorry. you should overall change your attitude.
By making it even with everything else? What dont you people get about things being nerfed so that its all even. Nerfs are needed because they were out performing everything else. To not understand that which blows my mind that people can't, makes you all, total fucking morons.
i think the same way you do regarding balance changes. be it nerf or buff. we need to wait how it goes. sometimes builds emerge that nobody whouldve expected anyway. regarding firebird most people got that tunnel vision --> deathwish --> disintegrate --> melt away...
we don't know how lag will influence the performance of the set when 2.4 goes live. but it still has great synergies with density. it just seems a bit worse now than other wizard sets. let's keep in mind. ptr is still running... -

ok so basically you're saying you won't EB with "your" AO build. That's ok. Then I misunderstood that. It may be that it will wield better results in grift pushing. That's not what I was denying. But I'm just sceptical that EB will only function as an utility skill.
Spectral Blade in this case wouldn't be the main dmg dealer with my example. EB has really high weapon dmg values. Flash got a 3 sec cd and another benefit is that you won't have AP issues if that's your only spenders. EB got ~4-5 times more weapon dmg and an equally good complementary item (woh vs fragment). I would never guess that those build would use simplicity of str as a legendary gem... Like I said before there are so many factors floating in the calculations that it's probably impossible to calculate anything but to test it on the PTR or when it finally goes live.
Well I just remember when Halo of Arlyse got introduced and everybody just QQing that it is such a bad ring and cannot compete vs Unity/RoRG/SoJ.
Just sayin.
I used EB only builds way before with mass CDR and failed to compete with firebird (guess it was season 1) 3-4 griftlevels. and back then we had no 2000% dmg multiplier sets, no complementary EB item (the new source that is) and no other funky rings to buff dmg / etc.
All I say is.... we will see

EB has only Woh and the new source mandatory. You already listed 2 skills (EB + AO) and 3 items as mandatory. Think about it... and you fire AO (range) with EB (melee) utility skill. I find this very awkward (that's why I only mentioned Arcane Orbit. Also it's the only rune that won't "waste" a cast animation). I like to theorycraft for good synergy and economic item / skill builds.
Arcane Orbit is not the only Arcane Orb (OB) rune, Obliteration for example deals 700% weapon damage and 60% skill bonus is multiplicative, but additive with other skill bonus, elemental bonus, etc, but still multiplicative with the base damage. EB has Wand of Woh which is 4 EB but Arcane Orb has the new wand which is 2 AO + 300% from Triumvirate, the math is pretty clear. EB will be an utility skill unless they buff the item as the PTR goes or buff EB base damage a little more.
And of course, we should not forget that AO doesn't have a cooldown, EB does.
As I said EB has the addition to utilize CDR on gear. The new Spectral Blade Wand would be possible to include in the build (you already got 3 items locked for Weapon + Source + Cube) and use Spectral Blade as good dmg addition, proc F/R maybe, and so on. Like I said there are many possibilities. But just saying AO is better to use and use EB as utility skill is just a bit weird...
your maths are pretty flawed. You just cannot generalize all dmg multipliers. There are things like CD skill or not , melee or range, animation or not. So many factors to just say EB is bad as a main dmg skill. -
Dec 11, 2015horrax1 posted a message on New PTR Patch datamined! - Patch 2.4 December 11thPosted in: News
you can use Delsere or TR for a 2000% dmg boost to EB. and that 20% seems to be another multiplier. so a 2400% multiplier with this and the set alone. Obviously it's interesting (and to me always was) to mix in arcane orbit, especially with the recent buffs and complementary items. But also this needs to be tested... we always need to Keep in mind that we have only 13 + 3 item Slots and 6 active skills
the damage reduction however is really needed. so we can mess around with either F/R rings or maybe even convention/unity for more toughness (oviously halo in cube and APD either cube or maybe the new shield bracers, too when fitting in some shield skills / passives). Oh well this is already getting to deep into it. but yes, i think this is great not only for EB/Woh builds in general but also for EB being one of the main damage dealers in some specific setup.
AO has the 2000% from Delsere, 300% (or 200%? Can't remember, lol) from Triumvirate, which is multiplicative, 2x explosion, which is double explosion damage + % skill on the wand + the ability to use F/R. So no, 20% multiplicative is not enough to make it worth it. They are bounding us to use EB as a utility skill, not as a damage dealer one. Ok, the base damage from them is not the same, but EB damage is not that high either, so I hope they changed it a little bit and it wasn't datamined.
dude, arcane orbit is a pretty bad skill itself (265 weapon dmg?). EB can use flash with 3 sec cd 9xx% weapon dmg and scales with cdr. Woh triggers 3 additional explosions, that's 300% increased dmg. don't see why it should be worse than arcane orbit. AO is getting a 60% skillbonus which makes it decent and 100% increased dmg + triumvirate, BUT this all takes an additional precious item slot (!!!), but obviously EB itself got more dmg.
also i like that they are trying to make builds work that NOT only relying on 1 dmg skill. And this is a step in the right direction. thinking about EB + AO, EB + spectral with the buffed fragment wand, EB + AO + primary skill ?!? as i said before I think this is great for multiple options. I only hope that it can reach as high as 2-3 griftlevels of the top wizard specs next season, then I'm happy - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

i like it, i didnt yet manage to finish it, but what I think is really frustrating, that if you manage to get use to the build and pylon locations and all that stuff, you still need crit luck on boss to finish it in time. i think this is kind of ridiculous.
wudijo is a complete dh nerd, but I give him that that really he did that one on the first try, which is kinda beyond me right now
one thing is for sure, it's actually the first time I will clear this CR for the sake of the challenge and NOT for the mats, cus obviously it's easier to do bounties in that regard...
0
that's why "like Emmo said"... he should check his overall gear. I highly expect no matter which class and build that at least there are some additive dmg bonuses already available equal to 40% (so same existing value like like fire neck + bracer), hence suggesting Magefist
0
Like Emmo said,
one thing to note as well, is that the Strongarm effect wont apply to mobs that cant be knocked back like Rift guardians and alot of big monster types. Also crowd control immunities can affect the uptime on Strongarms.
If your question was regarding Solo play I would say Magefist would provide the better overall value.
The Strongarm effect however is prefered to use in group, since it will buff the dmg of all party members done to those mobs.
0
since you should NOT build your leap rotations about earthquakes but mainly to keep your defensive set bonus up, the main advice here is to change hellfire/focus/restraint to the endless walk set + convention of elements.
I wonder why you use lut socks in cube. Get some useful item there. Cindercoat comes to mind if you're using Fire Seismic Slam.
Regarding your question if AS or AD, I would overall say it depends...CDR can be a good stat if you're using CoE, maximizing Wrath of the Berserker with your prefered CoE element up together with WotB most of the time. Or even RcR.
You also should consider going Bloodshed on Battle Rage. If you die too much that way, you can go Endless Walk + Unity instead.

it's not like Istvans are completely mandatory to make a supp monk work. But overall you're right of course
0
well, so it's not possible on pants and belt either.
on offhands it's also possible. like sources and mojos for example. So should be possible on shields too.
so now we have a complete list of which items can and cannot roll it as a secondary affix
0
the stat cannot be rolled on weapons, helms, bracers and gloves. that's what I can tell for sure.
but need some zmonk expert to answer your question for all possible items.

I agree. thud or bot, they are all cheats so they all should get the same punishment. first people need to realize that and delete any other software that enhances d3 in any way.
the next steps would obviously for blizzard to react and ban accordingly, afterwards we could ask for some legit features to be implemented in an upcoming patch. some useful things that for example thud delivers right now.
one can dream, ...I fear it just wont happen.
look how blizzard handled the last NS cycle. people were essentially encouraged to exploit.
What I'm saying is that I have not much hope for such a petition, especially if the community is pretty separated about what is legit and what is not. What's more important and what's less... it's not really a strong message.
1
well done. I don't think many people wont bother but it clearly shows again how bad looking for pools actually is. especially if you're low paragon.
One additional issue with LF pools is that even though it's not XP/hour related you miss out on finding a certain amount of possible item drops / gem upgrades / mats. (time you could spend in the next rift or GR)
I usually skip them all together during a season. Wouldn't bother before 1,5k paragon at all. It's just a nice to have bonus if you're running some normal rifts anyway and gather pools on the run to do some GRs afterwards.
0
they said there would be no Diablo news, that's all that counts for me. So it's as expected. No disappointment.
0
I did that GR14 on EU. I mean come on. You don't even need either sets or supporting legendaries to complete GR14. Running a strong but also fairly slow build on GR14. I still don't get the purpose of those.
One thing was nice for sure. It was easy and faster than any bounty run. If that's what CRs are regulated to I'm fine with doing them once a week. Still a pity when you think about the potential they have. And then again reading the US has a really bad CR this week... so still almost a waste of time checking and evaluating if it's worth running or skipping each and every week.
1
I agree that's the only thing I like about them, too. However the builds that came up (especially right after they were introduced and I checked them every week) were so messy it wasnt even funny to run most builds. Like Archon builds with no CDR, no Ressource regen ouside Archon. Just an example. No synergy whatsoever in those builds. Dull, stupid and no reason to play them at all. Even a pain to get those 5 min runs done.
The original runners most likely came up with those builds while farming items and having no clue what else to put in cube, which items to use... or still farming those meta related items and on the way just putting placeholders in those missing slots...
Blizzard announced CRs in a way that I thought we would see something like this:
builds with interesting ideas using synergies of the selected skills/items. while not being top builds but still trying to make them work in the best way possible (zombie charger wd, spectral blade wizard, weapon throw barb, you name it...). no useless items equipped, no stupid gameplay because the original runner had no clue about the game, and so on...
That's not the case. Not even close. That's why it's utterly disappointing and a waste of time to me.
0
there's really no BiS weapon for any follower
what's BiS and even mandatory is "your follower won't die" relics, an Oculus Ring and Unity (if you're wearing a Unity, too).
All stats of those Items are neglectable. I would also argue that Thunderfury is the best for the Slow effect (probably I would advice Ess of Johan for the Necklace spot, too), but yeah in the end it doesnt make any difference at all really. Can even leave those slots empty, the impact it actually has is close to zero...

same issue here. seems like a site related problem for all users.
