posted a message on Scyber's fifth class idea
I always thought it was going to be a bandit since the monk was announced. I was however thinking it would be a Bow/Dual Wield/Traps trees instead of your Bow/Auras/Traps. I just see auras being a monk thing(seeing as he most resembles the paladin[at least in holiness]). I like your idea, but I'm going with the Bandit for the name! :S

And heck, maybe if people asked them nicely over there, we might get a positive answer. Maybe it will get updated soon. Who knows.

Doubt it, Bashiok is nothing but a troll. I realize he's not allowed to say certain things about the game until it's ready to be revealed, but he says some pretty vague and irrelevent bs over on the battle.net forums. I stopped even checking the forums because the only blue posts you see over there are one liners he says to make people laugh.

As i said in my post.
The barbarian have a entire tree to passive, and this just sucks because they are completly poor in terms of gameplay.
Also the warcry tree is very poor in gameplay because the best warcries are just buffs (that are almost poor as passives). The debuff creis are fun to use, but they are unfortunnely too weak.
The last tree that should really contributes to the barbarian gameplay don't. Theres are to many skills that are nothing but a variation of a normal attack (bash, stum, concentrate, etc..). So what makes the barbarian gameplay more complex then choosing icons in your desktop is only 2 skills: leap attack and whirlwind. Unfortunelly leap r kind underpowered.
So, in a charactr that have a total of 30 skills only ONE add real interesting gameplay concept to the class.

Thats why i'm saying the barbarian is unpolished. Besides that, one of the earliest quotes about D3 is about how the barbarian could be vastly improved from D2 to D3 unlike the other classes, and thats the reason of his return.

Don't knock my 200 fcr singer barb.

I'm just happy the paladin won't be back. Most overpowered piece of crap in pretty much every stage of the game. Zeal builds to charge builds to hammerdin builds it's all complete crap and overpowered.

I enjoyed it, but it did get dull after awhile. To much of the same thing, same monsters, not that great of a story, if you are playing on normal everything pretty much dies 1 hit. I never felt challenged at all, I could tank every boss and not even think of healing. For $20 it is worth it, with the mods it adds to it, but id honestly just wait and see what this "mmo" looks like, since it is supposed to play the same as this but online.

You should try very hard hardcore. I've lost at least 20 characters to that behemoth. Getting one shotted once you get to the goblin fortress isn't unlikely.

:( Im sad, no good info from Blizzard in the fast joke-clips. The jokes (2 out of 10) was okey. I was really depressed after seeing this.

When will a demo be playable?

Very rarely do companies release demos anymore for their upcoming releases.

I'm with the rest of you when you say that the show was a huge waste of time. Lame joke on top of lame joke, with no new information about diablo 3, makes me a very cranky man.

maybe he doesnt have a job, (and 90dlrs is his allowance) and i played wow for 3 months and i played like 1h every day since i have other stuff to do and i felt like i was wasting money, if all i did was play wow i would pay that price np but paying that much for that little gameplay to me sounds like a waste.

Even if you're only playing an hour a day that's still cheaper than going out and buying games constantly.

As for the feeling you need to keep up with the rest of the people playing, you don't have to, you just feel you need to. WoW is the most casual friendly MMO on the market to date.

so, just cuz i make 50 billion dollors means im goign tospend it all on videogames zoombie?

90$ is a substantial amount to spend on GAMES ONLY. that is 2-3 games a month. so, i doubt he makes 90$ a month and i doubt all his money goes into games. just from personal experience. i dont think enough games are made to spend a full time salary on them.... not including all the consoles n such.

Reading comprehension is your friend. He said he would be spending 1/6th of his MONTHLY income if he spent it on WoW, meaning he makes $90 a month.

Secondly, paying to play one MMO is practically the cheapest entertainment you can get. Even if you only play a few hours a week it'll still be cheaper than say, going to a movie with your girl and paying 15 bucks for an hour and a half to 2 hours of movie.

He's probably a kid in high school or middle school so it's not like he has anything to spend his allowance/income on besides his entertainment.

Oh and it's Zoobi, not Zoombie.

This discussion is way offtopic by the way. I fail to understand your thought processes, if you don't like MMOs why do you come into a thread about an MMO?

As for TERA I'm in cautious anticipation of it. I beta tested AoC which was supposed to revolutionize MMO combat, it did in a sense, but it falled flat on content. We'll see how TERA turns out.

    I buy the 10% :) The best games I know are F2P.

Examples: Wc3/World Editor, Diablo 2, Track Mania, Counter Strike, LoL.

Those are the only games I have been playing regularly for the last few years. Every game has virtually infinite gameplay. Console games are not included. And the good thing is that I can play any of those games just one hour a week if I want to, while with MMOs I feel that I must play it constantly or it won't be worth the money.

15 Dollars is 1/6 of your monthly income? You make 90 dollars a month? You should find a new job if you're only making that much money.

Gameplay maybe, content no. With a MMO you pay 50 cents a day to play as much as you want. Sadly no good MMOs have come out in a long time.

Also you may get the feeling that you NEED to play to keep up, but in reality you don't. I go at my own pace and I still keep up at endgame with all but the most hardcore 16 hour a day people. Occasionally on weekend when I'm free I go on gaming binges, but that is a rarity.

Actually the console and PC versions vastly differ in how they play(Dragon Age: Origins that is). PC version is a LOT more tactical imo.

For diablo 3 it just would be all around a mess and really slow the game play down.. but a Diablo MMO would be so badass.

Only if they didn't dumb down everything like they did with WoW.

Yeah, it's not enough to keep me from playing the game(or monk for that matter) yet. However if they start adding weird stuff like the mentioned above I will definately not be playing the monk, despite it being the best sounding class to me so far(although, this will likely change whenever they announce the final class, depending on exactly what it is of course).

    True.

Plus we're not in the age of dial-up anymore. Any body who's somebody already has a decent enough connection to play on Bnet2 at the same speed as LAN, unless they live under the mountains of Afghanistan...

P.S. I care even less about LAN

I don't care about LAN that much as I haven't done any lan'ing for years. However to expect everyone to have a good connection is idiotic. The U.S. has one of the worst internet infrastructures in the developed world and most people are still on low-end connections(not dial-up, but certainly not high speed). In fact a friend that I play TF2 with her connection is fairly shitty and she gets pings of 200-300 to servers that are CLOSE to her, and she doesn't live in the boonies either.
